“it is amazing what a compliment can do when it is done for no other reason then to compliment. And agenda focused compliment can be felt and often rejected by the listener. You need to be aware of what you can compliment people with sincerity and then do it. You will be surprised how they respond.”

“A genuine compliment will MOVE the person on the inside and they will FEEL it, not just hear  it. That is what you want- a compliment that is electric and has power.”

“I just helped this lady carry her groceries to her car yesterday and I am 78 years old and she was younger then me. “Could I have recruited her? Yes, for sure, but then it would have been agenda focused. I gave her a 10$ Starbucks gift card with my number on it, and said have a coffee or tea on me. And that was that.”

“She called me the next week and asked if I would like to meet her and her husband for tea, and of course I said yes. She said that she was interested in my sizzle call that she had listened to I had left on the envelope with the card.  ”

Sir James Dyson, British inventor and founder of the Dyson company, is a firm believer in failure. In fact, he sees it as an essential part of his success — a step toward a truly innovative solution.

When Dyson invented his first Dual Cyclone vacuum cleaner, which hit stores in 1993, he spent 15 years creating 5,126 versions that failed before he made one that worked. The payoff was a multi-billion dollar company known for its creativity and forward-thinking designs.

We caught up with him over the phone on a recent trip to Chicago to discuss how failure has driven his success. Here is an edited version of our conversation:

Entrepreneur: You often talk about the value of failure. How has it helped you?

Dyson: Failure is interesting — it’s part of making progress. You never learn from success, but you do learn from failure. (When I created the Dual Cyclone vacuum), I started out with a simple idea, and by the end, it got more audacious and interesting. I got to a place I never could have imagined because I learned what worked and didn’t work.

Entrepreneur: How do you embrace a long series of failures without letting frustration overwhelm you?
Dyson: We have to embrace failure and almost get a kick out of it. Not in a perverse way, but in a problem-solving way. Life is a mountain of solvable problems and I enjoy that.

Entrepreneur: Your cyclone technology is often held up as a model of creative problem solving. Does failure help spur your creativity?
Dyson: It absolutely does. You don’t have to bother to be creative if the first time you do something, it works. Creativity is creating something that no one could have devised; something that hasn’t existed before and solves problems that haven’t been solved before. Making something work is a very creative thing to do.

Entrepreneur: When you fail, how do you approach the next iteration?
Dyson: What I often do is just think of a completely obtuse thing to do, almost the wrong thing to do. That often works because you start a different approach, something no one has tried. You get a different perspective and view of (the problem).

Entrepreneur: What do you do to encourage taking risks among your employees?
Dyson: You must remove any sort of criticism. A revolutionary suggestion often sounds stupid and you don’t want people who make cynical remarks. It’s a matter of having the right attitude — humble, curious, determined, willing to fail and try. (I hire people who) embrace the fact that failure is interesting.

Entrepreneur: What would you say to entrepreneurs or inventors who feel afraid to fail or worried that they’ll be judged?
Dyson: That’s a sort of lesson in life, isn’t it? You mustn’t be worried about what people will say about you. If you want to do something different, you’re going to come up against a lot of naysayers.

Big companies tend not to take risks, so there’s a big opportunity for entrepreneurs to take them and march on competitors. Business is constantly changing, constantly evolving. You’ve got to try things out.

Do you ever try and think of words you can use for your copy on what you advertise or what you purt on your landing pages for your home based business?

How do you communicate with your classified ads for your network marketing business?

Are you aware of the top 10 words that you should use for hour ad copy for your mlm business?

Words are important, and that is a fact. Someone sent me this recently and I wanted to share it with you. Do not know who the author is as there was not author stated, but there really is some goo stuff in this article.

Mark Twain once said, “The difference between using the right word and almost the right word is the difference between a lightning bug and lightning.” In advertising, the idea is very similar. Imagine if you could use words in your advertising that could anchor into the minds of your target market and change your advertising from good to great!

There have been numerous studies conducted over the years on this subject. Each one was designed to find those words believed to be the most persuasive in advertising. We thought it would be interesting to compare those studies to determine which words consistently made it to the top of the lists. Then we refined the lists to include those words that we have found to be the most persuasive during the past twenty-three years that we have been creating advertising campaigns.

The result is the following list of what we feel may be The 10 Most Powerful Words in Advertising*:

1. NEW—Having something new and knowing something is new has incredible intrinsic value.

2. GUARANTEED—We are all reluctant to try something new because of the risk. Take away that risk by guaranteeing a sure thing.

3. PROVEN—Another no-risk word that assures your target audience that your product has already been tested by others.

4. RESULTS—This is the bottom line, where you tell your prospective customers what they will get, what will happen and why they should care.

5. SAFETY—The idea of safety is very comforting and is a core need.

6. SAVE—Even the wealthiest people shop for value. It’s not just money that entices; people also want to know about saving time.

7. YOU—You’re more likely to get your target audience involved if you address them directly.

8. NOW—This creates a sense of urgency for your future customer.

9. EASY—Most people want a quick and uncomplicated solution.

10. FREE—Who can resist the granddaddy of them all?

Also, I believer there are several more words that you should consider:

11. What IF?  A powerful question for the masses.

12. Struggle. This is a word that catches peoples eyes.

13. Dream. This is a word that gets a lot of positive emotion.

14. YES!  This gets a person’s attention as it goes against the NO focus of the world.

15. HOPE. This is one that truly moves the soul in advertising.

The Follow Up actually is a MIND SET and a Set of Words, Questions, and Phrases that you can use. If you do the Follow Up correctly, you will find that this business of Direct Selling and Work at Home becomes a lot easier.

The biggest mistake made in the Follow Up is this:

Hesitancy.

It may be something that does not seem like an issue but it is with the prospect. YOU are asking the prospect to FOLLOW YOU into a company and anything you say to the prospect MUST be Leading, not just asking.

It is NOT what you say, but HOW you say it and the prospect perceives it. Say it with POWER and CONVICTION and watch the results start to change in your favor!

 “I am just curious Jim, what did you like the best about what you heard on the audio I sent you on Facebook/ Google+/Twitter, etc.?

 “Just curious Mary, what was your favorite part of the DVD that I gave you yesterday?”

 “Just curious Mary, what was your favorite part of the video I sent to your mobile yesterday? Did you like the family in it?”

 Hey Mark, I am curious. After listening to the CD, what was the one thing on the CD that really got your attention?”

Hey Mark, I am curious. After watching the Video I sent you yesterday, just curious….what was the one thing on the video that really got your attention?”

 “Hey Larry, I have a question. What was the one thing that really impacted you from the DVD that you watched?”

If your closing strategy doe not feel NATURAL to the prospect, they will be resistant. You will struggle with the process.

2. It MUST feel NORMAL to the home business prospect.

How the strategy works MUST feel NOrmal and something they woulf hear in a normal conversation.

3. It MUST feel NON- AGENDA to the mlm prospect.

The issue with many distributors is their closing strategy feels like it has an AGENDA.  You WANT something.

4. It MUST contain MAGNETIC VALUE and PULL the prospect towards you.

There must be VALUE for the prospect and so much VALUE that it PULLS the prospect towards you.

If you learn these 4 closing MUSTS, you will find it easier to close your prospects in your mlm network marketing home business.

Sales and Marketing are a part of your home business and network marketing business. It requires the right things to happen for things to happen like you want them to. Influencer marketing is focuses on using key leaders to drive your brand’s message to the larger market. Rather than marketing directly to a large group of consumers, you instead inspire / hire / pay influencers to get out the word for you. Influencer Marketing often goes hand-in-hand with two other forms of marketing: social-media marketing and content marketing. Most influencer campaigns have some sort of social-media component, whereby influencers are expected to spread the word through their personal social channels. Many influencer campaigns also carry a content element in which either you create content for the influencers, or they create the content themselves. Though social-media and content marketing often fit inside influencer campaigns, they are not synonymous with influencer marketing.

You may be confident in your real estate marketing skills, but if you’re like most Realtors, you know more about helping customers buy and sell houses than you do about marketing. You may not consider real estate marketing services to be the greatest marketer, though.

I read a lot.

ALL the time.

 To learn more so I can become more. You should as well. In my daily pursuit of excellence, I run across great articles and posts all the time that are a part of marketing and sales and leadership, but maybe not a part of the  home business profession. I recently ran across an article on SalesBriefs– and GREAT place to learn more for  the sales experts and I have had some articles on there as well.

I want to share a part of an article with you that I was blown away by as it truly is applicable to our profession. It comes from Dirk willard, who actually writes for chemical sales folks. But this time he has something that can apply to the home business professional and wanted to share it with you:

Despite e-mails and other modern conveniences, selling still is best done face-to-face.

 You must believe in yourself and your product.

 Selling is about infecting the buyer with your enthusiasm for your product. Buying is an emotional experience.

Your goal is to build a strong working relationship with the person who actually can hire you — hopefully, one that lasts for years. Be honest but guarded, generous but firm about necessary profits, and committed to the project but available to spend time on others.

Choose your words carefully, listen to the tone of your voice, read the client’s mind if you can.

 Walk in the person’s shoes. And, never ever bad-mouth the competition — it creates negativity and begs critical comparisons.

Qualify the client. Is the person merely collecting bids or really shopping? Try to arrange a face-to-face meeting with the actual decision-maker.

Ideally you’ll want to sole-source a contract. That means you must offer something the client can’t get elsewhere or some essential expertise. Take care during this process to control trade secrets; a client could become a competitor.

Balancing expertise with likeability is one of the toughest things a salesperson must do.

Many times a client is an inexperienced engineer who may feel threatened by the salesperson’s know-how and smarts.

Put the client at ease by asking lots of questions and gently helping whenever you have to fill in the gaps.

Perhaps the easiest ploy for winning is to appeal to the client’s ambition for personal advancement — hiring you could help. A tour of your engineering firm is a must, but focus on the client’s specialty or other pertinent departments. If the person is a chemical engineer, just mentioning you have a structural engineer should suffice.

Now that the client knows your name, make sure it’s remembered when there’s a contract to be won.

That’s where bidding comes in. Don’t let a salesperson write the estimate alone. Make sure to include the following costs: 1) business development; 2) bid preparation and negotiation; 3) project team orientation; 4) meetings and reviews, and; 5) idle time.

After bidding comes closing. This can be the most difficult phase of a sale. Remind the client that your bid has an expiration date but don’t be annoying — keep the enthusiasm going.

Meet face-to-face as much as possible. Assure the client of your undivided attention, even if that’s not strictly true; after all, to make money, you want your team busy on numerous projects simultaneously. This will help dispel your natural hungriness for the contract.

The final phase involves not just delivering the product but bolstering the prospects of winning future work. The salesperson should act as liaison between the client and the project manager, and help resolve any issues.

Building a good reputation can play a big role in securing future business.

MLM Social Recruiting Your Prospect.

WHAT do YOU Want Them TO DO?

Defining this is critical. If you do not have a PLAN in place in Social Recruiting as
far as what you want them to do, you are planning to fail.

It is not good enough identifying who YOU are looking for. You must know what they are TO
DO when you find them. And you must know what YOU are to do when you locate that candidate.

What is your Social PLAN to move them forward in the initial recruiting process?

Scott says,
“It was when we came up with what I call ‘The IFP’ (Initial Filter Plan) for when we located a candidate that really helped activate and accelerate the
recruiting process. We needed a very brief step by step action list for the
candidate to complete. The candidate went quickly through the 3 actions, as it was not difficult to complete quickly.  It took maybe 4 or 5 minutes.

 This helped identify where the candidate REALLY was as far as employment possibilities. We actually put it together to FILTER OUT the candidates that were not serious. I believe that if you are in the home business profession, you need an initial  filtering system for Social Recruiting as
well. It really makes you look professional and you end up pursuing who is
truly interested in your home business via social media.”

I will tell you the first thing we asked them to do was fill out a quick 7  question online survey asking about their  current employment and possibilities about future employment.

We called it “The Destiny Profile.”

 It was focused on finding the Dissatisfaction and the PAIN in their job- if it existed. It also asked about the type of boss, type of position, and  the JOY they were looking for
in a Dream job. It took maybe a total of 3 minutes or less.

It really helped frame the conversation and the direction we needed to go, as well as
potential of the candidate. You may want to consider a similar process for your
home business social candidates.

What you want your social media prospect to DO is critical and must be well thought out. YOUR JOB is to help RELIEVE the PAIN they are going through in their life.

These are some ideas on understanding WHAT you want your prospect to DO, being clear on it and understanding that if they do not DO something, you will never recruit them in your mlm network marketing home business.
