1. Add urls for social profiles to business cards and make them lead to a page that will talk about your product or business.

2. Purchase a unique domain for Facebook Fanpages etc. (i.e., http://www.pamsfanpage.com, or www.loseweightnoweasily.com

3. Add QR code to your business cards that jumps the prospect to a video that will play telling them about the benefits of owning your own business in today’s economy.

4. Don’t clutter your business card with useless info and ensure to keep brand consistent with all other platforms. Think BRANDING when setting your card up.

5. Add bio from Twitter account and then ask them for their twitter account so you can follow them.

6. Add tweet style bubble with a favorite Success Quote, Wealth Quote, Leadership Quote  tagline or customer benefit of your products.

7. Add a photo of yourself that is consistent with social network profiles and yotube videos.

8. Create a card that is a different shape, color & size that looks similar to a tweet, conversation bubble or other and put a pithy quote in the bubble as well.

9. Ask a question to the prospect that makes them think about their future.

17. Put a picture of your family on your business card having fun with you being at home and say that this is MY LIFE.

18. Put a voice mail number to call that has some great Success quotes, your story, and then invitation to a webinar that you are doing.

WHAT do YOU Want Them TO DO?

Defining this is critical. If you do not have a PLAN in place in Social Recruiting as
far as what you want them to do, you are planning to fail.

It is not good enough identifying who YOU are looking for. You must know what they are TO
DO when you find them. And you must know what YOU are to do when you locate that candidate.

What is your Social PLAN to move them forward in the initial recruiting process?

Scott says,
“It was when we came up with what I call ‘The IFP’ (Initial Filter Plan) for when we located a candidate that really helped activate and accelerate the
recruiting process. We needed a very brief step by step action list for the
candidate to complete. The candidate went quickly through the 3 actions, as it was not difficult to complete quickly.  It took maybe 4 or 5 minutes.

 This helped identify where the candidate REALLY was as far as employment possibilities. We actually put it together to FILTER OUT the candidates that were not serious. I believe that if you are in the home business profession, you need an initial  filtering system for Social Recruiting as
well. It really makes you look professional and you end up pursuing who is
truly interested in your home business via social media.”

I will tell you the first thing we asked them to do was fill out a quick 7  question online survey asking about their  current employment and possibilities about future employment.

We called it “The Destiny Profile.”

 It was focused on finding the Dissatisfaction and the PAIN in their job- if it existed. It also asked about the type of boss, type of position, and  the JOY they were looking for
in a Dream job. It took maybe a total of 3 minutes or less.

It really helped frame the conversation and the direction we needed to go, as well as
potential of the candidate. You may want to consider a similar process for your
home business social candidates.

What you want your social media prospect to DO is critical and must be well thought out. YOUR JOB is to help RELIEVE the PAIN they are going through in their life.

These are some ideas on understanding WHAT you want your prospect to DO, being clear on it and understanding that if they do not DO something, you will never recruit them in your mlm network marketing home business.

What traits do you look for in a social media prospect for your network marketing home business?

What are the most important traits for a prospect to have in social media recruiting?

Do YOU have any traits you especially look for in your social media mlm recruiting?

Most distributors do not have any clue of the traits they are looking for when they are recruiting on social media. They just “shot gun it” and see if they can hit the right one.

THAT is a crazy way to recruit in this business of home business network marketing.

I have found that there are 5 traits that are needed for a GREAT social media prospect and if you know them you will be more aware of them for your social recruiting efforts.

I always looked for 5 traits in people – online and offline–to be considered a possible recruiting candidate for my company , when I was daily working social media for recruiting. They may not be what you think you should look for in a prospect, but in Social Networking, it is CRUCIAL.

Here are the  traits:

1. VERY Visible.

2. Likes Attention.

3. Ambitious.

4. Uses Multiple Media channels to communicate.

5. Dreamer.

Ok….

Now do not get me wrong!!!

The recruiting candidate definitely will need certain education, skill set, experience, connections, and good work to meet my needs for my company, as well as other things that play into the recruiting process.

But these 5 traits seemed to work well when at least approaching them about a possible
career change or more money. It helped identify who would be a better candidate
and leader when talking to them.

I would think these traits would be critical for a home business in the social media space.

1. Very Visible means just that.

You know they are seen every day by design on social media sites.

2. Likes Attention means they also give attention.

If a person likes being in the spotlight then they will work hard to be there.

3. The Ambitious is important.

You can tell they are as they look to the future in their posts and updates. They have photographs of exotic places as well as big homes and cars posted.

4. Multiple Media Channels to communicate is critical.

You can tell they are a good communicator and networker just by the different ways and media they use to communicate on social media.

They use tweets, videos, blog posts, articles, updates, comments, and photographs. The more varied the media, the better. You can also tell who is getting the message across effectively by the number and kind of comments and who follows them on
facebook, Linkedin, or twitter.

5. A Dreamer is critical even in corporate America.

It REALLY is a must in the home business profession. If a person talks openly of their dreams on social media and even has photographs or blog posts of what their future looks like and where they are headed,  what trips they are planning on taking, cars they are going to purchase, homes they are dreaming of, you have a real possibility there.

They are looking for MORE and looking to ACHIEVE what they dream.

Do YOU know the 5 Social Recruiting Questions for your home business?

Do you USE social media to recruit in your network marketing business?

How would it help your mlm business and social recruiting to know them?

In Social Recruiting, it is not enough to understand about the 4 personality types as far  as where they are in social media. You must understand what we call “The 5 Social Recruiting Questions.”

Why?

Defining a starting point is critical. In anything you do. That means whether it is a book, movie, song, business, or recruit. This will give you a point that you can look at and know where you are going from there.

NOTE: You cannot change what you are not aware of. And you cannot be aware of what has no defined starting point. And if you have a starting point in Social Recruiting, and then that place points to more powerful and magnetic questions, you can become a social recruiting magnet.

So many people are on social media trying to recruit candidates but yet do not know the
questions that need to be asked.

Yes, there are the typical questions that everyone seems to ask on social media. We all know
what they are.

But we are talking about is something different. What we are talking about are basic FUNDAMENTAL QUESTIONS that MUST BE ASKED before you EVEN BEGIN Social Recruiting.

 These are the questions that will determine pretty much everything else that is said and
done in your Social Recruiting.

I call this “prep work.”

  You are PREPARING for Success and engaging the candidate so their response is more positive than most, so your results are more powerful than most.

The biggest mistake that is made at the very beginning in Social Recruiting is that most
people are “Recruiting Blind.”

They do not SEE what is in front of them as they do not know what to look for and because they do not know what to look for they try and recruit anyone that is willing to talk to them. But that creates a frustrating and discouraging situation.

The person you are talking to and looking to recruit may just be a friendly person who really
has not interest in changing jobs. They may be a socializer who likes to use social media for social reasons and enjoys the social atmosphere. And of course, they may be friendly because they may be trying to recruit you!

You cannot be blind when recruiting.

You must see what is out in front of you and be aware of who is a REAL candidate and who is only a social participant.

What are the 5 Social Recruiting Questions?

 1. WHO are YOU LOOKING FOR?

It al starts with who YOU are looking for. If you cannot define that person or candidate, then you will never find them.

The odds of finding who you are looking for in Social Recruiting go up exponentially if you
KNOW who are looking for, the traits they need to have, the skill set required, and have all of that written down for total clarity.

  • Are you looking for a mom?
  • Are you looking for a Leader?
  • Are you looking for someone who is unemployed?
  • Are you looking for someone dissatisfied?
  • Are you looking for a good communicator?
  • Are you looking for an energetic person?
  • Are you looking for someone who is knowledgeable
    already about network marketing?
  • Are you looking for someone already that  a business?

Define the Targets.

What traits do you want them to have? LIST THEM.

What would the DREAM Candidate look like if you could find them?  Write it DOWN-DESCRIBE the person.

What would be considered unacceptable? Who would you have to walk away from?

What would be the ONE THING that would make a candidate PERFECT?

What can you see you and the candidate doing together, successfully? What would that Success look like?

Would they have what we call the “First PLACE Traits” of a True Winner?

Passionate.

Leader.

Aggressive.

Consistent Communicator.

Energetic and Encourager.

This is the first Question that you must ask in social media recruiting for your mlm network marketing home business.

MLM Social Media- Recruiting the “Closed” MLM Prospect into Your Business

Are You aware of the “Closed” personality you will run up against in social media recruiting for your home based business?

Do you  know the traits and how to identify them for your mlm business?

Would you like to know how to handle them and what to do in your network marketing business?

Leave me alone.

That is the Closed. Unlike the Looker, Open and Sparker, the Closed are not even willing to
look or listen to anything you have.

Why?

Several reasons and they all vary:

1.    Happy where they are.

2.   Apathetic.

3.   Little Ambition.

4.   Family Culture.

5.   Misunderstandings about network marketing.

6.  Past experiences.

7.   Not in their DNA.

8.   Too busy.

9.   Too lazy.

 10. Their lifestyle is all they think they will ever have.

 Many people in my profession think that these folks are simply playing hard to get.

They actually are not.

They just do not get it – and refuse to.

They like their life as is, and do not want any change in it. They not only resist the
thought of change, but it sometimes can get angry if you try to push change on them. A change in life may as well be poison to them.

They are closed to any new ideas that include changing their life in any way. This includes career and job placement. And they see themselves pretty much in the same job all their life. They grew up for the most part in that environment and will remain there.

The Motto of the Closed.

The motto  of the Closed is “Tradition is my ONLY Condition.”

They LOVE what has worked in the past as far as income, career, and employment and are welded to that traditional philosophy of life. Non-traditional things in life upset their apple cart and they avoid most of them.

The Paradox.

Interestingly enough, many Closed do enjoy non-traditional technologies- like iphones,
texting, virtual worlds, mobile movies, and social media. It is quite a paradox. Why people who cling to the traditional ways of career and income and refuse to even consider anything new, embrace social media and technology like droid G4 phones.

.It does not really make sense, but it is the way it is.

What can you do with the Closed?

Talk to them about your product. Many times, they will at least
want some free information.

Talk to them about people they know. Often, the Closed will refer prospects to you. They want to get themselves off the hook so they point you in a different direction with a different person.

Talk to them about traditional
things
. That is their language when it comes to living life. Talk about what they feel comfortable with and possibly lead them to a new idea about a product.

Find out what they do after work.  The Closed do many things after work- all
traditional. Find out what they do and then ask them what they enjoy about it
and try and learn about it from them. That will draw them closer in.

Connect with them on hobbies or beliefs. The Closed many times have traditional hobbies. Find out what their hobby is, and then ask about it and learn about it. It actually is NOT a waste of time talking to these folks about what you do for a living. They may know who you are looking for. Many Closed say, “Oh, you should talk to my brother in law.
He would be interested in something like that.”

 Talk to them about their job and why it is so wonderful. They LOVE talking about what is comfortable and traditional. Many Closed are unhappy with their jobs, but they refuse to change. If they say they do not like their job ask them if they know other people who feel the same way. Get their names and contact information.

A Numnber One Corporate Recruiter Nationwide for a Recruiting Firm says,
“The Closed have proven over time not to be worth pursuing that much for career placement or any kind of change-including income as well. I have talked with hundreds of Closed folks that were highly qualified for a job, had all the right skill sets, experience, and education, and had an amazing job placement for them. But were very content with where they were and were closed to talking.

 They were too busy living their life to ever consider improving their life with a better job or more income. They just like the way their life is. And there is nothing wrong with that. But you must learn to spot them and it is pretty easy to do in social media. We developed a certain process or focus, that when we saw certain words in a person’s profile, or a particular type of photograph on their site, or even the way they comment on blogs or facebook updates, we knew they were Closed and we were rarely wrong.

 There were 7 revealing words and phrases that we learned, that revealed they were probably Closed at looking at any change. It saved us a lot of time, and a lot of headaches. Many recruiters today are wasting their valuable time with people that simply have no interest. I am sure that it is the same way in the home business profession as well.”

How much do you understand about the EYES and Body language when recruiting for your home based business?

How would THAT impact your network marketing business?

Would knowing how to READ the EYES as well as SET YOUR EYES help you in your mlm recruiting?

The eyes are said to be “The gateway to the soul.” The eyes TELL a STORY every time you look into them. They are the “Great Communicators” that work either FOR YOU…

Or against you.

What are YOURS DOING when you are recruiting someone face to face?

Even when you are meeting people on Skype or on a Google Hangout, what are YOUR EYES saying and he prospects as well?

Lets take a look at Body Language and….

The Eyes when Recruiting.

Obviously, looking at someone means showing interest in that person, and showing interest is a giant step forward in making the right impression. Showing Interest is showing YOU CARE about learning about the person. (Remember, each of us is our own favorite subject!)

When recruiting in mlm or a home business, your aim should be to stay with a calm, steady, and non-threatening gaze. It is easy to mismanage this, and so you may have to practice a bit to overcome the common hurdles in this area.

Looking Away from the Prospect.

Looking away from the prospect for long periods while he is talking, closing your eyes while being addressed, repeatedly shifting focus from the subject to some other point: These are likely to leave the wrong impression. Recruiting is making it ALL ABOUT being attentive to the prospect.

Of course, there is a big difference between looking and staring at someone!

Rather than looking the prospect straight-on at all times, create a mental triangle incorporating both eyes and the mouth; your eyes will follow a natural, continuous path along the three points.

Maintain this approach for roughly three-quarters of the time; you can break your gaze to look at the prospect’s hands as points are emphasized, or to refer to your note pad.

These techniques will allow you to leave the impression that you are attentive, sincere, and committed. Staring will only send the message that you are aggressive or have an agenda.

Be wary of breaking eye contact too abruptly, and shifting your focus in ways that will disrupt the atmosphere of professionalism.

Examining the prospect’s below the shoulders, is a sign of over familiarity. (This is an especially important point to keep in mind when you are interviewing by someone of the opposite sex.)

The eyebrows send a message as well.

Under stress, one’s eyebrows may wrinkle; as we have seen, this sends a negative signal about our ability to handle challenges in the business world.  YOU DO NOT wrinkle your eyebrows when recruiting.

Ever.

The best advice on this score is simply to take a deep breath and collect yourself. Most of the tension that people feel when meeting with a prospect has to do with anxiety about how to respond or what questions to ask.

Practice responses and recruiting tactics and asking recruiting questions and relax, you will do a awesome and CRUSH the recruiting interview.

The eyes are two of the most powerful recruiting tools. Watch your prospect’s eyes and make sure YOU are saying you are a LEADER in your home business mlm.

Is talking to 2 people a day hard for you and your home business?

Would talking to 2 people on social sites or face to face be possible in your network marketing business?

Would you like to know what would happen if you did talk to 2 people a day to your mlm business?

Consistency is the key- offline or online. You MUST be consistent in your reaching out to people.

Many people are NOT consistent as they do not understand what could happen if they DID talk to 2 people a day.

It would explode your business.

What if you were not any good at  network marketing?

Well, I believe you would be shocked at the success you could have even if you are no that good at a home based business or recruiting for one.

What would 2 people a day do for you?

“What if I only talked to 2 people a day?”
That would be 2 people a day for 30 days in a month:

2 X 30 = 60 people a month

That would be 60 people a month for 12 months”

60 X 12 = 720 prospect you have talked to a year.

WHAT IF 20% became customers?  What if 80 % of them told you NO?

That would still yield you 144 customers. (WOW!)

What if 95%  of them told you NO as far as they business and ONLY 5% actually became distributors:

That would yield you 36 NEW distributors. (That is 3 a month with still 95% telling you NO!)

What If every customer gave you 2 referrals?  That would yield you GET THIS:

280 referrals!

What is only half of this happened? What if you only got only 10% customers and only 2.5% became distributors?

I believe that facebook is a GREAT recruiting space. But you MUST know that there are things you DO NOT DO.

What are the 7 Biggest Mistakes made while recruiting on facebook?

1) Being TOO Aggressive in getting your message out to people.

Many folks on facebook are way too pushy in their recruiting efforts. The reason are many. They are excited, they are new, and they don’t know. But many times, you will find that even though someone tries to help, they still will not listen.

If you are too aggressive and too pushy, that will spell one word:

AMATEUR.

That is what amateurs do on facebook when recruiting. They are looking for what the prospect can give them, versus what the leader can give the prospect.

2) Not giving the relationship time to grow before you start the recruiting process.

Relationships are the nuclear fuel to this profession and social media. But yet, many people JUMP IN and do not give the relationship time to gel or form. That is a mistake.

Relationships take time. Even if you connect with the person- give the relationship time to gel and settle so you can find out where your business can help them and solve a problem. If you do not do this and continue to push the prospect- you will push the prospect away and they will not be coming back.

3) Inconsistent Visibility.

You cannot spend all your time on facebook, come on. But yet, you MUST be consistent in when people SEE YOU and hear FROM YOU. If you are not, they will not take you seriously in your social media efforts.

If you spend only 20 minutes a day on facebook, the amount of recruiting you can do, IF done correctly, is staggering.

4) Broadcasting and NOT Conversing.

There are 2 ways to communicate on social media: Broadcast and Conversation.

Many facebook folks recruiting prospects ONLY broadcast updates with links and “take a look at my business.” THAT is a mistake. CONVERSATION is the MAGNET.

It will PULL the prospect into the thread of communication, and give you a better opportunity to get your message out but yet in a more personal way. Broadcasting is good, but Conversation is better.

5) Not establishing yourself as THE AUTHORITY.

Many people talk about becoming THE EXPERT. But I beg to differ. There are many experts out there that carry NO influence nor make any difference. Many are ONLY fact filled geeks.

If you are SERIOUS about recruiting on facebook- start using the word “Authority” and establish yourself as THE GO TO PERSON, and then when you speak, it will carry more clout and magnetism.

6) Not promoting what your friends and followers do.

It is NOT ABOUT YOU, nor your home based business. It is about what YOUR FRIENDS are doing. Re-post what your friends are doing, and do it OFTEN. Tag them in the post. And make sure they see YOU are promoting them a LOT.

WHY?

Because they will promote YOU and your message. That is human nature. You scratch my back and I will scratch yours. So if you are recruiting on facebook- make the OTHER PERSON the STAR! And they will return the favor.

7) Not hooking up facebook to LinkedIn, twitter, slideshare, wordpress, youtube, pinterest, and all the other social sites that will send your efforts to facebook.

I really do not think I need to explain this.

It is called a “social web.”

Weave a social web and you will find your recruiting on facebook exploding your mlm home business.

It is a rut that many people get in and never leave.

You continue to go and talk with people that you are comfortable with, but yet…

They never come into the business or buy a product.

You even go to the same comfortable places HOPING someone will talk with you, but yet, you never talked with them.

 When Prospecting, don’t just try and recruit your prospects. There is a much more powerful way to do it. Connect them to the amazing Possibilities of your business and connect that possibility to their DREAMS…and let them recruit themselves.”

It really is that simple.

a. Find the Pain or Problem.

 b. Connect that Pain to your solution- your business.

 c. Then make the pain go away in their imagination – working with you.

All prospecting is, and will ever be, is connecting the prospects heart to the Hope and Possibility that they CAN have the life they have always dreamed of, and you will help them get it with your Network Marketing products and company.

Quit Prospecting. Start  Elevating. Lift people up first, and they will be more open and more drawn towards you. Encourage, Lift, and Pour Into the prospect all that your business
offers. Let them FEEL the business…not just hear about it.

The greatest secret to prospecting is not about numbers or keep talking to people or even “throw it up against the wall and see what sticks” which I abhor that statement.

I have written literally over 2000 articles the last 11 years. That is a LOT of writing. But sometimes there are those “classic” articles and posts that really still shine and help a lot of folks.

I have been doing a series on MLM Recruiting and what it takes to succeed in this, and ran across some notes that i had written down, and thought that they might be of interest. When you are in the recruiting mode, it is amazing to see how you can adapt and become a magnet in the process with the right words.

I have seen many distributors over the years start using the right verbiage and have watched their business explode. And you can too, if you allow it to.

The Art of MLM Recruiting.

The art of mlm recruiting is a great art, as well as a great process. And the words you use are the tools that people perceive you as, as well as your business. Many people make so many mistakes in recruiting, and unfortunately it destroys their results. But you do not have to put up with that as the tips below will help you become a recruiting powerhouse.

Here are  14 MORE MLM Recruiting Tips that I found in my notes that I have for writing  posts and articles and nuggets.

1) “Make sure that there are NO distractions when you are talking to the prospect about your Network Marketing Home Business.”

Remember this: If the prospect is distracted, they are not focused on your message. “Would you like to wait a couple of minutes before I go on?” If the distractions continue, make
another appointment.

2) “Use several testimonials during your MLM Recruiting talk. They bring life to your message.”

If you do not yet have a testimonial, borrow your sponsor’s. Find out three really HOT testimonials as far as the business, and share them with your prospect to emotionally connect to your message.

3) “Use the phrase ‘If this is right for you’ during your talk. It will draw them towards you psychologically.”

“And this company has such a great track record to set a new person as well as you at ease when they come into the business…of course, only if this is right for you.”

4) “Trash the word OPPORTUNITY. It is a Red Flag word today.”

Use the word Vehicle, or Business. Our society looks at the word “opportunity'” today as “Uh oh…not another one of those”.

5) “The first thing you MUST do is get the prospect COMFORTABLE. Talk about THEM.”

If the prospect is not comfortable with you, they will NOT be comfortable with your message. Talk ONLY about them the first 5 minutes.

6) “Find out what is the MOST valuable thing in a person’s life, then wrap the presentation around it.”

Family usually is. “How this will impact your family is…..How this will increase the time you have with your family is… This business will help you bring that dream into reality in your
life…”

7) “Always be FORWARD FOCUSED in your MLM Recruiting. That is where most people are interested in…moving forward in a more powerful life.”

People want to KNOW there is a real chance in life, to live the life they dream of. Don’t dwell on how things are in a person’s life. Focus on how things SHOULD be, and WILL be. Be the Knight in Shining Armor.

8) ” ALWAYS set the Next Move while you are talking to them. LEAD them, give them the next step in the process, be the pied piper.”

“At this point, what a lot of folks like to do is….get on a three way…attend a conference call….look at some tools…I have an idea…let’s do THIS….” Then explain the Next Move.

9) “It’s NOT what you say, but what people are FEELING when you say it.”

Words are important in MLM Recruiting, but emotions are more important. How can anyone get excited over something you are not? How can anyone believe in something that you don’t? How can anybody follow you, if you are not strong enough in faith to follow? How can anyone be touched by your message, if you are not?

10) “MLM Recruiting is a Follow Me game.”

You are asking someone to follow your lead about an unknown product, an unknown company, and into an unknown future. That requires some SERIOUS Leadership. Be serious about YOUR Leadership in Recruiting.

11) “People don’t follow what you say, or what you do, but WHO YOU ARE.”

MLM Recruiting is about WHO YOU ARE, and who the prospect wants to be. Be REAL, and be Yourself. Don’t morph into your upline. Your warm market will be turned off by that. Yes, you should be BECOMING who you are planning on being…but still be REAL.

12) “Remember the Golden Rule of the Presentation. It is NOT about the Presentation, but about Transformation- how your business will transform the prospect’s life!”

MLM Recruiting is about being a Walking, Talking Transformer. You are a CHANGE Agent, just like people who sell houses are Real Estate agents.

13) “ALWAYS thank the prospect for their time. no matter what. This is just professionalism.”

Gratitude can play a long way into creating Success in your life. “I want to truly thank you for your time…. I have enjoyed talking to you so much.”

BONUS TIP: The Last word they should hear as you finish the conversation, is THEIR NAME.

“I have enjoyed this, and I will talk to you next Thursday. Bye Shirley.” “This has been wonderful. I look forward to talking again with you Mary.” “You truly are a great
person to chat with. I have enjoyed this. I look forward to chatting again Tim.”

Their name is the sweetest sound to them. make sure it is the last thing they hear in your MLM Network Marketing Recruiting.
