There are many home business tactics and actions that are needed to create success in your MLM business.

There is none more critical- ESPECIALLY if you are a newbie in this great profession, than MLM Prospecting for your home based business. Finding and gathering leads are absolutely a MUST- either online or offline.

There is much debate over “online prospecting, “Social prospecting,” and “Traditional prospecting’ and I get asked a LOT what a home business professional should do and which one.

My answer?

Always…..“YES.” 

  YOU need to do them ALL and create a BALANCE that will build a tight business, not an exit turnstile business that so many people seem to build. They find a LOT of leads, but yet they LOSE a lot of folks as well. They just do not stick.

But enough about that. Let’s get back to MLM prospecting and the POWER  formula for finding leads.

MLM Power Prospecting can bring in the results you desire for your network marketing home business, and the number of prospects you are looking for. There is NO DOUBT about that fact.

MLM Power Prospecting is a paradigm shift in what you do to prospect. It is a different focus than most. Most people in network marketing, whether online or offline,  do not Power Prospect because there is no real power that they can connect to to energize what they are doing.

Their Power comes from what THEY WANT, and not what the PROSPECT IS LOOKING FOR. And that produces NO power for the prospect to plug into. Many people get fooled into thinking that this new idea is “THE ANSWER” to MLM prospecting. I read about one recently that you are supposed to make it all about you and your Success and make them want what you got. Get them envious…you are a ROCK STAR!!!  Yes if you try hard enough…you can be LIKE ME!

Give me a break. Your goal is to make THE PROSPECT the rock star…not you.

Lot of GREAT social media, funnel marketing, and offline prospecting ideas out there, but if they are NOT TOTALLY FOCUSED ON THE PROSPECT…

Sorry, you are out of commission and out of magnetism….won’t work.

Sure, there are the online  “one site wonders” that promise you the moon,and guarantee all you do is send them money and they will show you the secrets to mlm prospecting. And to be honest, a few do work, and should be considered. But MLM POWER Prospecting comes from another source, not another secret, tool, book, cd, seminar, or even an mlm training article like this one.

MLM Power Prospecting comes from WITHIN YOU and you totally MUST CONNECT to that Inner Power that draws and PULLS people towards you.

And when you connect to these following 5 “Prospect Connectors” you will experience a new MLM Prospecting Power and Surge in your MLM Prospecting that will blow your mind. It has a ton of folks and it WORKS.

What are the 5 “Prospect Connectors” to the Power within?

Let’s us the word POWER and take each letter one at a time:

1) P stands for PASSION.

What are you passionate about in your life? That is the Success Driver behind your MLM Prospecting. Not only to find people that can become a part of your “Passion Walk” but also become a part of their own. Passion attracts people to you like nothing else can, and then weld them to your dream like a blowtorch.Passion is the FIRE that burns in the belly, that drives you to go way beyond what you thought was even possible. People are attracted to that like a magnet on steroids.

What are you truly Passionate about even if you are not currently pursuing it in your life? Start pursuing it, with your mlm business helping to drive it and fund it, and let other people be the doorways that will not only help create that in your life, but also their own passion in theirs.

People will follow PASSION a whole lot quicker than they will a presentation. Passion is a sure MAGNET that will PULL people your way. And your job is to “Transfer the Passion” to the prospect. Get them passionate about THEIR future and destiny. Get them passionate about THEIR POSSIBILITIES with your business. Make sure YOUR passion ignites THEIR dreams and passion for the future.

2) O stands for OPENER.

MLM Power prospecting is about being an “Opener”, not a closer. It is about opening people’s minds, hearts, eyes, and futures to what they can be, not what they are. MLM Power prospecting is focusing the prospect on the power of their own dream, and then show them how to create the Opening in their life with your business. This focus relies on conversation, not just a network marketing presentation.

Opening someone’s mind up to what is truly possible is beyond just power, but now you have tapped into PURPOSE which carries with it a whole different realm of power. Talk to them about what THEY WANT in life. Show them the doorway with your network marketing company,and then open the door as you describe what their life will be like working with you. And then let them discover their purpose through the Power of opening their “CANS” in life, not cant’s.

Two VERY opening magnetic words:  “WHAT IF…?”  Use those often.

3) W stands for WHERE They Are.

Start prospecting from where the PROSPECT IS, not where you are. Most people in MLM try to grab the prospects’ hand, and drag them into Network marketing. Not a good choice.

There is something we have taught for a while:

Start in their world, and then lead them to yours.

Where you start is as important as where you finish.Do not put pressure on the prospect. That is not MLM Power Prospecting, but Poor prospecting. And you will lose the prospect just about every time.

Ask a lot of questions and get to understand where they are in life, and what challenges they are facing. Understand them before you ever try to recruit them. Understanding turns the average prospect in to a willing prospect.

4) E stands for ENGAGE RADAR.

You have what we call “MLM Prospecting Radar” and you need to keep it engaged at all times. You need to ask three questions:

“Who is around me right now and do I know them?”

“If I do not, do I want to?”

“Are they alone or with a group of people?”

Then simply go over and if they are with people, then listen, and comment from time to time on what is said. If they are alone, then simply go up and introduce yourself with this MLM Power Prospecting Phrase:

“Hey I don’t mean to be rude …I’d like to introduce myself. My name is Tom, and if you don’t mind me asking, what would your name be?”

5) R stands for REASSURE.

MLM Power prospectors are masters at REASSURING PEOPLE.. They reassure prospects that they DO have the talent to succeed in life, they DO have the skills that are necessary for Success, they DO have the personality that Success demands, and they WILL succeed at life if they work with you, work hard, and learn the Success trainings of your mlm company.

Reassurance is NOT hype. Hype is all over this industry, and it really is a turn off to most. Reassurance is simply introducing the prospect to a new world that they could be living, and explaining to them that you will be helping them and walking with them as they get their Success Journey started.

Let the prospect know you will be there for them, and will not disappear like others have. Assure them sincerely and with integrity.

That is what Network marketing Power Prospectors do. Everyday, and with everyone. The Power is in the focus. And their focus is simply to open new doors and NEW OPTIONS WITH PEOPLE  that will pour the Power of Success in the prospect’s life and future.

Blogs for Home businesses today are critical in the success of a home based business. It is your ‘calling card” as well as on of your most powerful image makers on the web. It will help you be FOUND by search engines, as well as be KNOWN by your readers as well as visitors.

Social Media MLM- The 4 Levels of Social CONNECTION?

If you think about it, Home business social media is a fast growing arena in the home based business profession. And we have been training on it for 6 years. There are many GREAT teachers and other trainers out there and we are honored just to be a part of it. we discovered social media around 2004 with myspace (where in the world did THAT go?) and then moved onto facebook, twitter, and now the new google+. It is an amazing time to be in the network marketing profession.

Many folks train on marketing in social media and we do too, but we want for this training, to really focus in on the FOUNDATION of social networking. It is critical that you understand that there is a BASE PLATFORM that social media rests upon as far as actions. And this platform you must master in every area of social media, be it video, blogging, podcasting, texting, posting, etc.

What is the BASE PLATFORM of taking action for home business social media?

The base of Home Business Social Media Marketing is about Conversation.

No Doubt. Conversation RULES as far as being the DRIVING FORCE in the social media experience in MLM. NEW conversations as well are vital to the growth of your home business.

But the platform the base is HOSTED on I believe is:

 CONNECTION.

Conversation does not occurwithout a Connection, and without a reaching out on someones part via a post, video, podcast, comment, tweet,, cinchcast, or whatever you choose for the delivery of your message.

Connection, though is the START of where it all begins to happen in Social Media. It is at the NUCLEAR CORE of social networking.

First comes the Catalyst, then the Connection, then the Conversation.

Whether it is tweets on twitter, friends on facebook, and users on LinkedIn – it still starts with Connection in the Social zone.

Are you Connecting on a regular basis? And if you are, how are you doing it?

Connection, according to the dictionary, is “when 2 things come together and meet.”

Cool.

That works as far as social media. Connecting with folks that you have something in common with is all part of the home business social media marketing process. But if you think about it, there are different types or levels of Connection, and social media really demands a higher level of connection in mlm marketing.

All Marketing is, (no matter if you are a traditional marketer or a home based marketer,) is the process of exposing your message or product to a prospect in some way. Yes, that is a simple definition, but within it, you must CONNECT your message with someone. There must be a CATALYST to make it happen, like an advertisement, phone call, squeeze page, or an article online. But something MUST start the process of marketing and recruiting.

Here is the process :  < Catalyst >- Attention- Connection- Conversation- Collaboration.

Hence, the 4 levels of Connection in social media.

1) Attention.

This is the weakest form of Connection in home business social media. No matter whether it is on LinkedIn, or Facebook, it is the weakest. This form of Connection many people make the mistake of thinking they have Connected here and immediately start bombarding folks with recruiting and marketing messages. That is a HUGE no no. Attention means that you have Connected their eyes, mind, or curiosity with something, but it is NOT enough to start the home business marketing process effectively. Yes, you can start here, but rarely does it prove to be effective. This Connection is only where someone NOTICES you message.

2 Connection.

This is where a person in the home business marketing process, is “hooked” by something in your message or offer. It could be a phrase, video, free giveaway, download, image, or color. But SOMETHING has not only gotten their attention, but has Connected their mind to a further look. the psychology of this is to switch in their curiosity, and desire for more information. They have “plugged in” enough to Connect to your message and consider it.

3) Conversation.

This is the third level of Connection, This is where the Conversation has moved beyond curiosity, and now has elevated to communication. They may want to know more about the message or product. They may want to know more about you.  They may want to know more about the benefits and value of the product. But Conversation does take place and can take place many times over the course of time before you move to the 4th level of Connection.

4) Collaboration.

This is where you both agree that you will Collaborate in some way and is some fashion to work together. This may come in the form of a recruit, sale or purchase, an appointment, a referral, a new person in your home business, a new mlm customer, or even a referral, partnership or Joint venture. Collaboration is something that has many possibilities.

The ultimate goal in home business marketing is to make something happen that creates a win/win situation for both the marketer and customer.  And these 4 levels of Connection can create a LOT of new recruits and profit if you are consistent and relentless. 

Many network marketers never get past the Attention stage as they are more interested in RESULTS then a Relationship. They have it backwards. Relationship is a much better catalyzer of Results. Since you have taken the time to Connect on a higher level, they have learned to TRUST you, and trust more of what you suggest or say.

Do not make that mistake in home business social media marketing. Take it to the highest level every time, and see your results increase dramatically in your home business social media zone.

Home Business Training-The Secret to “Urgent Patience” in MLM

In my home business, in 1989, I remember talking to my mentor, and asking him what is the REAL Secret to Success in a home business. Let’s move past all the hype and rah rah and get to the bottom line.

He was eating breakfast one morning, as we were at a national conference. He had called me and asked me to join him and of course I did. What an honor. I wanted so bad to get to the TRUTH about the MLM profession and then start succeeding at it. I KNEW this was my calling in life, but yet it was not doing what I needed it to do.

So when I asked him this question, he did not even look up from his raisin filled oatmeal. He said something so profound that it still rings in my ears today.

What did he say?

“Patience is the secret to home business success Doug. But it must be Urgent Patience. The single greatest Success trait of all Millionaires in the Home Business Profession is PATIENCE. Most people out-patience themselves right out of this profession as they are urgently working, but not patiently waiting – for their skill set and leadership to grow.”

Wow. I was stunned.

This was pure GOLD as no one had ever said that to me before. Maybe no one cared enough to tell me the truth.

Who knows?

But it really hit me like a 2 by 4 when he said those words.

It is called:

Hurry up and wait.

That is how most entrepreneurs SHOULD feel. They want to have a sense of urgency, but yet they know they need to be patient because all businesses take time and effort. Especially in the MLM home business profession.

Most home business owners are willing to give the effort …for a while.

It is the TIME that it can take many have a challenge with.

Don’t outpatient yourself out of this incredible network marketing profession.

Where your home business is today is nowhere close to where it will be 3 years from now.

Keep focused and talking to NEW people with NEW CONVERSATIONS. Keep sharing your company’s information.

What you are doing today is planting seeds. They may not grow next week. It may be next year.

Seeds of prospecting.

Seeds of social networking.

Seeds of recruiting.

Seeds of presentations.

Seeds of webinars.

Seeds of in home meetings.

Seeds of exposures that will grow at a later time.

All these seeds ARE GOING TO GROW as God has ordained that seeds grow.

A home based business GOLD MINE for prospects?

Yes. A VERY Powerful One.

Today, you have many types of small business owners in social media and online. There are small business fan pages, professional fan pages, knols, blogs, wikis, and many other different kind of small business places to find prospects.

Many people ignore the small business owner.

I did not.

I recruited personally over 100 of them as they were a gold mine in CONTACTS. They already understood the power of running a business. And they already were doing it every day.

If I would have had social media in the 90s to recruit from, I would have recruited hundreds more as it truly makes it so much easier. But yet, many home business owners do no recruit small business owners.

It is quite puzzling to me. Especially in today’s economy- many of them are looking for alternative revenue sources.

I would suggest that you take a HARD LOOK at small business owners as they are a GOLD MINE in social networking as well as offline networking. And I DO believe we are in NETWORK marketing.

That is why I am going to say this ONE MORE TIME:

There is a virtual Gold Mine out in the marketplace online as well as offline,  for network marketing and home business that is being virtually ignored by most folks.

These small business owners have major Success ASSETS for Home Business Success.

2) Existing clients.
3) Experience in the marketplace.
4) Exposure, credibility, and visibility to a lot of folks.

Many of these owners today, because of the economy, are looking for other sources of revenue. They are major entrepreneurs, and understand the concept of multiple streams of income and revenue options, which are available in a Network Marketing home business.

Start contacting the small business owners you know, and ask for their help. Ask them to take a look at your Network marketing products and services, and consider making them available to their employees at a discount. Ask if you could do a mini seminar at their place of business after hours.

And then run the idea past them of having a secondary revenue source themselves with your products.

We were blessed to recruit hundreds upon hundreds of small business owners in our group, and it really was easy, once you got your first one.

They brought in the rest into MLM and Network Marketing. And that is why that I believe that the small business owner is one of the most overlooked prospect GOLD MINES in the home business profession.

There comes a time that there must be a DECISION in a home business that cannot be altered or changed.

It is all part of MLM Leadership and building a Team of Leaders. You cannot expect to build a team of Leaders when you are not focused like one and acting like one.

There comes a time that you have to draw a line in the sand and face the truth about Success in your home business.

It is a decision for what I call  “FINAO.”

 Failure Is Not An Option.

Period.

In my life, failure does not exist. Getting the wrong results does, but not failure.

Especially if you are decision bound to something.

And this will require you to possibly make some changes that you do not want to make, are you may be not aware that things need to be changed, or you simply say that you will do that you have to do to build your success in MLM.

Leadership in MLM and a home business requires a bigger than average COMMITMENT.

It requires a bigger than average DESTINY.

And it requires a bigger than average HEART connected to the Vision and the Dream. Especially with a home business.

Are you giving that in your home business?

Are you giving all you need to give in your network marketing business?

 Imagine anyone starting a company in Corporate America and they say that they will give only half of what is required.

We would call that person half hearted and going nowhere.It is the same with many home business owners. They simply are not giving all that is needed to give to succeed in a home based business.

There is a philosophy I learned years ago that you must be “ALL IN” to achieve Success that ENDURES.

You must be “ALL IN” to live a life that goes ALL OUT.  READ THAT AGAIN.

This means your heart is all in the business, your thinking, your belief, your focus, and your time. You are simply not working the business, but you are LIVING the business when you work. 

Are YOU ALL in or just part in ?

It is FELT in your Words.

It is SEEN in your Actions.

It SCREAMS in your Belief.

I am NOT Talking about time or a clock,. or hours. The hours are not the focus here.

 I would rather someone give 3 ALL IN hours than 20 HALF IN.

The 3 would produce 100 times more than the 20 that are half hearted and barely started.

Leadership is about being ALL IN and being ALL ABOUT.

In a home business in network marketing, Results RULE. No doubt.

So do Methods with a lot of people.

Methods are taught, discussed, argued, ignored, and engaged every day.

Unfortunately, because of the lack of apparent understanding between the 2, may folks are having a challenge with their home business.

Are you struggling? Are you having a difficult time with your home based business?

Maybe this training can help clarify what the problem is, and maybe change your perspective of who you should be and what you should focus on.

Many people today in Home business and Network Marketing do not understand why they are struggling in their mlm business.

And many folks are either because they blame the recession, the government, the profession itself.. They do what they believe they need to do, but yet their home business results are not what they want in MLM.

Is that happening to you? Are you experiencing some results that maybe well…..stink?

There are many different types of people in MLM and Network Marketing, from CEOs of Corporations, to Stay at Home Moms, to those who are just getting their careers started and even folks who are just loving connecting with new people on social media sites. And within all of these great folks, there is a secret that we discovered years ago while working a home business very hard.

There are many different types of automobiles out on the road, and many different types of outfits and suits and jeans to wear. Many of them sell well, and others not so well.

There are many different kinds of places to eat out in the world, and some make big money, and others struggle everyday to keep the doors open and the bills paid.

There are many network marketers that are out really working everyday and working very hard, and some making great money, while the largest portion of home business owners do not.

Here is a Million Dollar Question:

What is the difference between all of these great folks, and what they seemingly are doing? What makes the ones that are doing great different than the ones who are not? Many folks have given a lot of potential answers to this question  in Network Marketing, and many answers truly are great!

But we at DFTI have been observing over the last 15 years how people function and live in life, and also in success. It is the same with MLM and a Home Based Business. All people want to Succeed in Network Marketing, but few actually do at the level they really want to.

It does not have to be that way.

If you will look at other similar but yet different entrepreneurial ventures, it is the same as in Real Estate and Insurance, and Stock Brokerage. All that enter into those wonderful enterprises want to make it work. And most want to make it work huge. But the truth is, most never make it work at all, as they have fallen prey to a Secret that I ran across 15 years ago, and it has made all the difference in the world as far as Success in my life I have been blessed with.

I call this amazing little secret that has guided my life for several years as well as Success:

 “The RMR- Results-Method Reality.”

This little secret that made such a difference in my life, can make a huge difference in your life. It can change everything about you, and your business, and how you view life. It can change all aspects of your Network Marketing business, and even how you approach it and engage it. It can even change people around you just by being around you.

Ok, what is the “Results- Method Reality?”

Understand this:

There are two types of people in this business and two types only — Method people and Results people.

The difference between the two is huge in everything they do.

1) Method people choose the method they are willing to use and accept the results.

2) Results people choose the results they want, and accept whatever method it takes to obtain them.

Method people’s favorite song is “I did it My Way and got what I could!”

Results people’s favorite song is “Whatever I Need to do to get the Results I want!”

Method folks have a tendency to work Network Marketing on THEIR TERMS, and expect Network Marketing to bow to their ways of doing business.

MLM demands a certain concept and model of working, and being a certain mindset, and if you do not work within that concept and model, and be who you need to be, then Network Marketing can be a very frustrating experience for you.

Results people are focused totally on what results they want, while method people are focused on how they want to do this business, and what is comfortable.

Results people refuse to focus on comfort, but focus on construction. They want to construct a business no matter what it takes or how long it takes.

And the biggest difference between Results people and Method folks, is HEART.

Results people seem to have the heart to make it happen, while method people seem to have the heart to make it easier.

That alone is a Million Dollar Difference in the approach to this business. Most millionaires in Network Marketing are RESULTS people. Rare are the mlm millionaires that are Method people.

If you are going to be a powerful and successful home business leader in Network Marketing, may I suggest you become a results person, and use whatever method it takes to achieve your dreams. That is what we call “total personal leadership” — the direct result of leading and moving yourself past all the limitations you harbor in your heart, and creating things in your life as never before.

Leaders relentlessly prospect, approach, present, follow up, and sign up new people. And then they teach their distributors to go out and do the same thing, and look for the same results.

You MUST train on the methods of how to do this business, but do not get lost in that. Become a Results person, and accept whatever it takes, however long it takes,and whatever path it takes, to Succeed in Network Marketing.

If you give MLM and Network Marketing all you got, then it will in return, give you all it has.

And that is called a great answer to getting wealthy in MLM and Network Marketing. If you do own a home business, focus on taking ACTION and getting the results you WANT by doing what it TAKES for home based business success.

That is what millionaires do. Whatever it takes to get the Successful RESULTS in their home business.

Home Business Training-What EXACTLY To Say to a Negative Prospect?

Prospects of a home business in mlm can say the darndest things. That reminds me of a kid’s show a while back, “Kids can say the Darndest things.”

But it is so true. Your home business prospect and also even family and friends can be NEGATIVE over nothing. You can take guidance of mysunrise over this.

But that is not just innate to network marketing. Every entrepreneur puts up with negheads almost on a daily basis when they are starting their business. In a Fortune magazine survey in 2001, they asked multi millionaire business owners what was their number one obstacle their first 12 months. Check these out fivebough .

Over 80% of them put friends and family. And of course prospects would fail in that category as well in a home business. It is like you just want to say to the negheads and naysayers:

“There they go again.”

One more time.

Friends and family spouting off Negative comments, input, and opinions about your home business and your MLM future. You can get so mad sometimes that you just want to walk away and say, “forget it” r something worse. You stare at them and wonder what to say or do, but yet the words of reply only get caught in your throat.

This is a battle yu will not win. People that are convinced of something do not want the facts. Been there.

You may attempt to play some form of “verbal judo,” or “word wrestling” but they have you in a head lock with their words and questions and you just slink back into the chair and can feel so defeated and dejected.

But here is the worst part and the most hurtful part to their negative comments:

They actually are starting to make sense with their logic. Or at least seem to.

You stand or sit there and just take the negative vomit.. And that is what it is spewing all over you and your home business . And you just wish you knew what to say. But you remain silent. It does make you think and wonder. And your mind starts to develop questions that can kill your home based business. And you actually start to ask these questions:

“Could they actually be right?”

“Are they telling me the truth?”

“Could they actually have a point here?”

“What if they really ARE right?”

And the doubt and the fear slowly start creeping in, and you start to question your own decisions, actions, and future.

This happens everyday in the land of home businesses and network marketing . Negative people start to try and stop you because of their own fears and insecurities and many times- they are very successful.

But it is time that cam to an abrupt halt.

Understand this:

Negative well meaning people — are still — negative. (Read that again.)

They may mean well, but there has never been any Success accomplished in any home business with a negative focus and a negative language.

So what do you do?

Here are 3 things that can say to help neutralize their negative comments when they appear out of their mouths:

1) “I appreciate that comment, but let me ask you a question: Who in the world sold you on THAT?”

2) “Thanks for sharing, but what you just said does not match up at all to what I have researched about this company and products. Would you like to see a little of my research?”

3)”That is an interesting way to look at it. There are several other ways to look at that I have found as well. Let me explain…”

And there is also a secret to doing this:

BOLD CONFIDENCE.

You KNOW that you KNOW that you KNOW and NOTHING can shake that Knowing that you are doing a great thing and will Succeed massively.

It is called the single most powerful “velvet hammer” when you answer a negative prospect. Confidence tells the negative MLM prospect that you understand that they have an “opinion” but you are not buying what they said. They will FEEL that in your words.

Most negative prospects are just that way: negative.

So you have a decision to make:

Are you going to let the negative mlm prospect influence or even dominate your business, or are you going to continue with confidence and not worry about the naysayers. the negheads, the not so hots, and the never will be’s?

It will determine much about your future success in your MLM and Network marketing business. These people have an influence over you and you may not realize it. They can either influence you to slow down or even quit, or influence you to prove them wrong and to go out and CRUSH IT.

I would suggest to ignore the negheads that are “eggheads” and move on with your business. They will NEVER pay a bill you have or really have anything positive to say about your business. Accept it and move on. You will be so glad you did as that is one of the biggest secrets to MLM network marketing and home business success.
