Seasonal MLM Conversations.

Are you aware that the holidays are incredibly powerful for building your network marketing business?

Yes, you must be gentle and NON pressure. And of course, if they do not want to to talk to you about your network marketing business, change the subject.

But what if a prospect DOES show an interest?

It is called MLM Holiday Recruiting and it is a powerful focus for this time of year.

Seasonal Holiday Sponsoring.

That is a very powerful concept in MLM….are you aware of it?

MLM Seasonal Recruiting. HOT CONCEPT!

It is when a particular season in the year can bring an awareness of something that timing may be bad for in other parts of the year.

Like right now.

Right now, one thing is especially on people’s minds:

Change.

It is the new year, and for the next 4 weeks or so, many people will be looking to make changes and to not repeat last year, this year! And it is a wonderful recruiting time, and you hold what we call a ‘Seasonal Conversation’ with folks.

The Secret to A Network Marketing Business in 2012.

We all know that the secret to this Network Marketing business is EFFECTIVE CONVERSATION.

We have been teaching that for 25 years and we teach it online as well as offline, as well as effective Communication. We are in the business of Communicating with people, and you can hold a ‘Conversation of Change’ with people right now that will go hand in glove with their thinking.

It is a fact that the first of the year that Gyms get a flood of memberships that last for maybe 60-90 days, and rarely seen again. That is human nature. But you can help people keep that change in their life, whether they want more money, freedom, time, security, control, or whatever.

How?

By asking some simple questions and making some statements during a conversation.

The MLM Business Building Concept.

MLM Holiday Recruiting Secret:

Turn a Conversation into an MLM Business Building Tool.

When you are chatting with someone, here are some ‘MLM Magnetic Questions  you can ask:

1)’What about last year are you not going to repeat this year?’

2)’In one word, how would you describe last year?’

3)’What kind of New years resolution do you have for 2012?’

4)’What would be the one thing you would want to change this year in your life?’

5)’What kind of raise do you think you will get in 2012? Why so little?’

6)’I am not going to let this year be like last year. Thank God it’s over. How about you?’

7)’You looking to change anything this year about your life? Why?’

8)’How would it impact you and your family to have the best year financially this year than you have had in a long while with a home based business?’

9) ‘What are your plans for 2012? Any changes? What about financially?’

10) ‘What kind of year do you want to have in 2012? What is going to be different?’

Success Possibilities in Direct Sales and MLM.

This will lead you into a ‘Conversation of Success Possibilities’ with you and your potential prospect, and push a Hot Button that may be cooler the end of February.

After the question or statement:

‘You know, I have run across something that is going to help me create the change in my life this year I have always looked for, and it possibly could help you. When can we chat? I may need your help as a friend.’

If you are going to be talking to folks anyway, why not do some ‘Seasonal Recruiting?’

This is the season for CHANGE.

I suggest you might change what you are doing and talk to people about what is on their mind, and what they want to:

CHANGE.

One of the best ways to change your life in 2012 is MLM and Network Marketing Home Business.

S.A.N.T.A. MLM Recruiting

Does Santa have special mlm recruiting secrets that he can give away this time of the year?

 Well…apparently so.

When I was talking with him recently on my special North Pole QR Code Mobile Ho Ho ho Phone, he told me some things that I felt that I needed to share!

 Now…lets be real.

Santa is NOT in any kind of network marketing company as far as I can tell, but I believe that he can teach us a few things about networking since he does it worldwide once a year!

So…what 5 MLM Recruiting secrets does Santa have to put in your home business stocking this year?

Here are 5 mlm recruiting secrets straight for  the North Pole and able to help you recruit and sponsor in 2012!

 Ho Ho Ho!

We are going to use the word SANTA as an acronym- as he did- ahem- and see what they are!

 1. S stands for SOLUTION.

Santa recommends that you are focused on finding a problem that the prospect has, or someone they know has pertaining to your products, and then providing a SOLUTION to it.

You are in the business of SOLVING PROBLEMS for people, and that is what you must focus on. The bigger the problem, the more valuable the solution.

Your products have benefits. The opposite of the benefits are the PROBLEMS people have.

Point them out and then ask them if they would like a solution to that issue.

Santa does that ever year with special toys for boys and girls that help them have a great Christmas!

 2. A stands for ASK.

During the holidays always ASK for a “Private Conversation” – you need a person’s help.

“Hey- after the first of the year I would like to talk with you for a minute private. I need your help on something. May I give you a call?”

Even Santa asks the children what they want for Christmas!

Ok…ask people what they want to see in the year 2012 IMPROVE and then show them how you can help them do that!

 3. N stands for NEVER.

NEVER pressure. Ever. During the holidays, you want to people to ENJOY talking with you, not trying to avoid you.

Never ask more than once during the holidays. If they do not want to chat about it then, great.

Never ask in front of people. Make it a personal and private conversation.

Never ask to focus on what YOUR gain is-always the prospect’s.

 Santa NEVER pressures you.

NOTE: If you do not want to tell him what you want for Christmas, then he will simply go to the next child.

 CLUE!

 4. T stands for TALK.

Talk about the person or prospect during the holidays.

 Talk about their family.

 Talk about their job.

 Talk about their facebook experiences.

 Talk about their 2011 year.

Talk about their hopes for 2012.

 TALK about them- not you.

Think TINY = Their Interest Not Yours.

Santa never tells you what he wants for Christmas!

 5. A stands for A free gift.

Always give them some kind of a free gift- online or offline. It could be a free ebook, video, PDF, webinar, or offline it could be a free report printed out, a free CD on Success or leadership, a free coupon, or some other free gift.

 This is what Santa does.

Freely GIVE and give often during the holiday season.

GIVE = Gain Influence Very Easily!

These are the 5 SANTA MLM Recruiting Secrets during the holidays for you and your home business!

A Powerful Closing Secret NO ONE Teaches!

What can We Learn from a # 1 Corporate Recruiter in the Nation?

MLM Training- 5 Reasons Why People Struggle Making Calls

mlm telephone training

mlm telephone training

MLM Telephone Training.

Would learning the reasons people struggle with telephone calls in mlm help you?

Would you like to know how to overcome that in your network marketing business?

I know…you probably have thought this when thinking of making calls:

UGH!

Just thinking about making telephone calls makes some people sick. I made them for years, and still do.

Lots of them.

How about you?

Do you struggle to pick up the phone or do you do it with a smile on your face knowing you are going to get a great response from your calls?

Well- maybe you fall in the struggle group and are looking for reasons why that this is happening. You start making phone calls, and then after a couple of NOs, you start getting that lump in your throat and soon- you cannot talk. The emotion you are feeling has taken over and you simply cannot pick up the phone.

But yet- you WANT to make more phone calls, but just cannot seem to get it done.

Why is this happening?

Let’s take a look at 5 Psychological reasons that may be in play here, and what you can do about it in this mlm telephone training.

1)  The Fear of Feeling Inadequate.

Many people feel that after they get a couple of Nos, they are becoming inadequate. They feel that they simply do not have what it takes to create success in their mlm business. The Nos have made them feel that they lack something. Well- here is what you need to understand.

You are NOT inadequate.

You MUST got through a certain number of Nos. That is just the way it is. I had to get a certain number of Nos and everyone else must as well. Just know that you have EVERYTHING you need to succeed in this business.

Nos are just a part of the business that we all went through. It is natural to get more Nos in the beginning then later. You will get better. You become stronger and more confident.

So hang in there . You will start to see great results soon enough.

2)  Being Influenced by Other People’s Emotions.

Many people that make calls are hanging on to other people’s emotions that they carry and believe are true. Many people dislike making phone calls. And they very innocently influence you into believing it is hard, they are a waste of time, and all you are doing is bothering people.

That is simply not true.

With every phone call, you carry with you a possible solution with you that can help people and make a difference in their life. Every phone call can be a transforming moment for folks. You are NOT bothering them. You are simply seeing if they are someone you can help or not.

3)  Not Knowing what to Say – Paralyzes you.

There is nothing more paralyzing then knowing that you don’t know what to do– but yet you are expected to perform. This can create a feeling of massive fear and massive doubt.

Why does this happen?

Most of the time, you can get more telephone training on a Verizon commercial than you do with the average company. Most do not train on what to say or do on the phone. You need to ROLE PLAY to build your knowledge and confidence. You need PRACTICE and more practice. This will help you get past being paralyzed. And knowing what to say is something that you MUST learn, and we have many trainings to teach you.

4) The Feeling of Disappointing Yourself.

Many times, people will hesitate making phone calls because they do not want to disappoint themselves. They many times berate themselves and ask they cannot do this business.

Why do they feel disappointed?

Because they compare themselves to others that are having different results.

That is a good way to push yourself out of business. What you need to do is simple. Quit comparing yourself to anyone as you walk your own path in this business. And do NOT feel disappointed you made a phone call and it did not go so well.

YOU are NOT in charge of results. You are only in charge at getting better at making phone calls. The results will come quicker than you think.

5) You are Not Really Serious about this Business.

Most people that get into this business are NOT that serious. They are what I call “tire kickers.” Most people get into their own business to “Try it out,” and to ‘See what happens.” And because of that- people FEEL that from you and react accordingly.

Would YOU let a dentist that is not really serious about what he does to work on your teeth? Would you let a mechanic that is not serious at what he does work on the car that carries your children? How about letting a doctor recommend medical advice when you are sick and really is not at all serious about what she is recommending?

Hello!

So you are not going to be taken serious as well as a professional with that kind of focus. If you are just “trying” this business as most are that are IN  business, people will feel it, and treat you accordingly. People want to talk to someone that is serious, not someone that is just kicking tires.

Get serious and you  results will change as well as your telephone calls.

These are the 5 Biggest Reasons that people do not make phone calls and what to do about them in your MLM and Network Marketing business.

MLM Training- MLM Leadership Secret Beyond Influence

mlm network marketing

mlm home business leadership

MLM Leadership.

What is the most powerful part of MLM Leadership?

MLM team Building?

Some say:

Influence?

Communication?

Decision Making?

Would you like to learn a more powerful Force in your mlm leadership that truly will rock your home business and recruiting?

Inlfluence is key to home business success, no doubt. But yet, when you learn the TRUE Marketing Power that PULLS people towards you, you will be light years ahead of most in our great profession.

Influence is what many Leaders say DRIVE mlm and network marketing.

But…does it drive Marketing Success and Recruiting?

Or…is there something MORE POWERFUL that you need to engage in your mlm home business?

Is there something that you need to focus on more powerfully and will create the results you want for your network marketing business?

Influence is something that is very critical. But there is a RULE that you need to understand about the shift that has occurred in the home business profession.

What would that New Home business rule be?

NOTE:  It is No Longer just about Influence, but IMPACT.

Read that AGAIN!

It is No Longer just about Influence, but IMPACT.

Influence is at the core of Leadership and the secret to this business is Leadership Development. But today, things are changing and Influence is no longer the  “Power Factor” of Success with people in a Home business.

It is IMPACT.

People today are not looking as much for Influence as something that stirs them up on the inside in a positive way and they FEEL the message-not just hear it or see it.

Impact is the force that “something hits something else.”

What FORCE does your message for your company have?

What Impact does it carry?

What does your prospect FEEL from you and your company?

Take Nike.

That company has Impact with a slogan, or “meme” that you cannot forget. “Just do It.™

That carries with it Impact that amplifies Influence to take action.

And what today’s consumers and prospects are looking for is no longer to be Influenced to just DO something– but Impacted so they FEEL something and be moved by it emotionally and psychologically.

Many people today create a weaker influence than they should, and thusly it weakens their results as well as actions.

Create and impact with your message and product.

How?

Make a BOLD statement.

 Make an Extraordinary Promise.

Ask a thought provoking question.

Create a word picture that draws people towards you.

Display an image that tells a story-liker the Apple Ipod advertisements – just a silhouette that tells a story.

Take your prospects somewhere away in their mind with the sharing of your business and where it could take them.

Amplify your Passion and get people magnetized to listen because of what is pouring out of you. THAT creates Impact.

Influence will always be important NO DOUBT.

But today, Impact is Imperative in your network marketing home business.

Do YOU know the New Rules of Home Business?

MLM Social Media- 2 Hidden Powerful Social Marketing Secrets?

mlm hokme business social media

mlm social media

MLM Social Media.

Do you understand what social media and the home business profession do when they are joined together?

Would you like to discover 2 Powerful Social Media Secrets for home business mlm?

How would that impact your ability to succeed?

Here are 2 secrets of Social Media MLM that will rock your world:

1. Social Media MLM Secret: It is No Longer about just Persuasion- but Permission.

Seth Godin, an amazing writer and business forecaster, wrote a book called “Permission Marketing.” It was and still is a best seller and guide to the Social Media path. It explains much about the New Rules of marketing in Business.

But for the last 50 years, it has been all about persuasion, and power. That is changing. There is a new breed of consumer and prospect out in the world that will not be persuaded by tricks, nor pressured and powered into a decision. They will resist you and ignore you. You have not asked for what they require.

They instead- want to give you permission first to market to them or to talk to them about your product and business.  You do that via social networking, newsletters, emails, snail mail, or a simple phone call that asks permission to share a new idea and solution with them.

It is much easier to the do business with someone- marketing your product or business- if they have given you permission to share that with them. Many people do three-ways and surprise the prospect by having their sponsor on the line with them- and the prospect feels ambushed.

If you had called them and asked permission it probably would have gone much better. Many people have a “bait and switch” mentality and that does not work either. No matter how persuasive you are and charismatic, if you today do not seek permission to share something with someone-you will be headed down the path of rejection.

 Don’t just persuade.

Show Surprising Respect for the prospect and ask permission in some format. If you do, you will find them much more receptive.

2. Social Media MLM Secret: It’s No Longer just about Moving Products- but Moving People.

Used to be that the products were king-or queen- and that moving products ruled the business world,. Well-things have changed. Products are still very important and getting your message out about the products is still imperative.

But people no longer drive Edsels.

There have been changes and upgrades to automobiles. It is the same in business. Consumers no longer want to make it about products.

They want it to be made about THEIR products and THEIR Life and THEIR Experience.

They want their products to MOVE THEM.

That is the message that many companies and distributors had better hear loud and clear. It is about moving PEOPLE-first with your Conversation and then with the Experience of being connected to your message.

If your Conversation and message do not move people today emotionally, then you will never move products. You must move them with the Promise of a better life and lifestyle. Surprise them with an understanding that you are one of them and expect the same kind of emotional experience.

Move them with New Ideas about your product that will lift them up emotionally.

Move them with images and empathy.

Move them with Connection to their dreams.

Move them to new Possibilities with usage of your products.

Move them to new heights of enjoying life that they only once dreamed.

And move them with your Passion for what you do- so they will be drawn towards you like a magnet on steroids in your mlm social media home business.

MLM Recruiting- A Powerful Closing Secret NO ONE Teaches

mlm home business closing

mlm home business

MLM Closing.

Closing an MLM home business prospect can be difficult for a lot of people…why?

How would you like to learn a powerful closing tool that has proven to move prospects when nothing else really could?

Would that create some excitement in your daily efforts for your network marketing business?

Many people today are looking for what I call “Success Insurance” for their business. This is something that will INSURE their home business success happening on a daily basis.

Even in a hard and difficult economy.

You need to understand that with an economy like we have, we need to be sensitive to the mlm prospect’s focus and needs for their daily life. Your prospect wants hat most other people want:

A great life and worry free life.

YOU must show them the way and get them to FEEL good about where you can take them concerning their dreams. If you do that one thing alone, and nothing else, it will explode your closing ratio.

“Closing” is  term that I rarely use my self as it does not fit the psychology of what the prospect wants to see happen.

NO ONE wants to be “CLOSED.” Come on….that is the truth.

They want doors OPENED, and a new future OPENED, and a new destiny OPENED to their life.

This little mlm recruiting secret will help address that concern the mlm prospect might have when you are talking to them.

(NOTE: Here is a post that is a powerful post on Closing the prospect:)

“How to Close ANY MLM Prospect in 5 Seconds Flat”

Here is a powerful MLM Recruiting truth that has proven to be what I call a “Velvet Sledgehammer:”

MLM Recruiting Secret:

The Best INSURANCE is REASSURANCE when recruiting a home business prospect.

People are looking for “Destiny Insurance.”

They are not looking for “The Same ol same ol Life as it always has been Insurance.”

They are looking to be “insured’ and no matter what happens, they will be ok, with their income, jobs, housing, mortgage, and cars.

They are looking for “Lifestyle Insurance.”

Some are even looking for “Excuse Insurance” —so their excuses will be valid during these tough times and they can continue to use them.

If you are worried about protecting your business from false claims or culprits then their is Insync Insurance to protect your business.

But the best insurance for today’s tough times is REASSURANCE that reassures the prospect that they will be ok, they will be moving forward, and they will be in a BETTER PLACE next year then they are now- by working with you.

This is a Leaders’ way of communicating and directing the prospect to your business.

People are looking for Reassurance in their life direction.

Say this:  “I understand that you are concerned- but let me assure you that you do not have to feel that way, as there is an incredible answer that has proven to be amazing with helping people like you and me . It is taking control with your own business from home. How would you like to never have to worry about money again? How does partnering up an building a big business sound? ”

People are looking to be reassured that NO MATTER WHAT HAPPENS– they will be fine and their family will be as well.

Reassure your prospect- to insure – their moving forward with you in your mlm network marketing home business.

MLM Home Business.

What is one of the most powerful mlm home business tools do you have in social media?

What would it do for your business if you could discover a powerful revelation that could turn your business into a success inferno?

Here is a Rule for Home Businesses that will rock your world:

It’s No Longer just about Surpassing Volume- but SUPRISING VALUE.

What do people value in their life?

Obviously family, faith, friends, security and the like. But they also Value things that Improve, Increase, Enlarge and Empower their life and lifestyle. People today have so many more choices than they used to.

Turn on the TV.

Turn on the radio.

Open up a magazine.

Connect to the internet.

You will find the eyes and mind inundated with messages that are trying to sell them or get them to do something and create Volume and revenues for their company.

Nothing wrong with that.

But which companies and home Businesses today are rocking their bank accounts – while others are racking their brains – trying to figure out what they are doing wrong?

The companies and people that are focused on bringing a message of Surprising VALUE to the consumer and potential distributor are the ones that are setting themselves apart from the crowd. They are bringing Value so powerful and so strong with their message and products, that it is unexpected and surprising the consumers at the amount.

Take Apple Computer, Take Fast Company Magazine. Take Best Buy. Take Dell Computer. All are focusing on VALUE front and center, and then volume second, if they have done their job. THAT is the New Rule for Success-and you.

YOU must bring Surprising Value to people that they do not expect – as an expert in your field.  Then show how your products and business bring Surprising Value to the prospect and then – go beyond that

Include things that are not expected.

Throw in an extra product. Give them a free e-book or download.

Give them a half off discount just as a surprise.

Package your products in something special and make it seem like they are opening a gift.

Make your prospect’s jaw drop by the value they get-just by doing business with you and being connected with you. Go overboard with Value.

That is the New Rule for the Future Millionaires in Network Marketing. Surprise them with Unexpected great Value- and they will spread that word to everyone they know about your MLM home business.

Home Business Training- Top 50 Home Business Ideas

50 Home Business Ideas.

How many home business ideas are there? Thousands?

Occasionally I will run across a post that I want to share with you, and this post is one of them.

It comes form a great site, Financial Highway and it really is a great site. A lady named Miranda penned this list. They give some great advice in many areas and home business is one of them.

During the holiday and Christmas season you may be looking for a more traditional home based business that suits your needs. Here are the top 50 ideas that i believe will work for anyone looking for an alternative income and lifestyle:

One of the best ways to get started with a home business is to use your skills. Stock traders like Nathan Michaud make a constant living from day trading the markets. A number of business startup ideas grow out of the skills possessed by the business owner. If you have the skills — or if you can learn the skills — here are a few ways to make money from what you’re good at:

  1. Writing: I always list this first because it’s what I do. If you write, and have reasonably good grammar, you can find gigs providing content, working for print and online magazines, preparing whitepapers (and doing other technical writing), and providing ad copy and press releases. All form the comfort of your home.
  2. Graphic design: Create logos, newsletter layouts, images for ads and other visuals for a variety of clients.
  3. Web design and development: Set web sites, and even maintain them. Develop different aspects of web sites, and design web sites for usability.
  4. App development: Those who know how to develop apps for different mobile devices, and even those who develop web apps, can make money with their skills. Create apps for others to use, or even for them to sell, and you can get your cut and make a profit.
  5. Social media/SEO services: If you are good online, and build social networks, you can leverage your skills to make money by providing your services to others. Help companies and web site owners build their brands in the social media space.
  6. Photography: Use your skills to take photos at different events, and even take portraits. Take stock photos and sell their use on stock photo web sites to create a tidy passive income stream.
  7. Videography: You can also make videos of special events, and put together montages for special events like birthday celebrations. With huge variety of innovative chairs covers available at cvlinens.com, your clean-up time will be a breeze, perfects for your event.
  8. Presentations: If you have skill at putting together presentations, you can create presentations for others.
  9. Make music: Those with musical skill can make money by hiring themselves out for events, as well as by playing in different venues. Many restaurants like to have live music at least some nights a week, and you could make money from the tips people provide for your playing.
  10. Consulting: Any skill and experience that you have in a number of areas can be used to help you start a rfp consulting business. From knowledge of statistics, to communication, to image, to public relations, it is possible for you to put your knowledge and skill at others’ disposal and make money.

Share What You Know

Some home business ideas grow out of what you know. You can base a home business on your knowledge and expertise in a certain area. Some ideas that can help you put your knowledge to use can include:

  1. Tutoring: Start a tutoring business out of your home. You can approach by providing tutoring help in an area you specialize in, such as math, or English, or test-taking. You can also start a business that allows you to work with others, paying tutors and helping clients get the academic help they need.
  2. Music lessons: For a brief period, I taught piano lessons. (I discovered that teaching was not my forte.) If you know music, whether it’s playing a musical instrument or using your voice, you can share that knowledge, and earn some money.
  3. Art lessons: Teach children and others art. If you have a knowledge of painting or drawing, you can teach others.
  4. Online teaching: One of the growing areas of interest is in online teaching. If you have a college degree, you can teach college level courses in some cases. There are also virtual K-12 schools. You can, if you are ambitious enough, and get the right licenses, open your own virtual academy.
  5. Gardening: Many people need help learning to garden. You can offer your services in helping people set up gardens, and learn to grow their own food. Container gardening classes can help clients learn to grow food in small spaced. If you’re also into indoor gardening, you know it’s a daunting task to keep those plants alive. That’s why it’s advisable to opt for the best led grow lights.
  6. Preserving food: If you know how to can, bottle or dry foods, that’s something that others might pay to learn. You can teach classes and even sell small recipe booklets with ideas for what can be made using preserved ingredients.
  7. Guide: Do you know your local area? The best places to go for fishing or hunting? Do you know a stretch of river? You can start a business guiding people in the area. Even if it’s just a restaurant tour of the tastiest places in town, your guide efforts can be profitable.
  8. Technology: Start a business teaching others how to use technology. There are a number of people who need help setting up their computers, phones and gaming consoles. You can use your knowledge to your advantage.
  9. Craft classes: Hold craft classes in your home. If you know how to sew, crochet, knit, work wood, sculpt, or frame photos, you can teach these classes, earning some money and doing something you love.

Provide Services

Look around your town, and see if there are any services that you might be able to provide. You might be surprised at the need in town — and the way that need can turn into a side hustle to help you make more money or a full time home business:

  1. Pet care: Take care of others’ animals. From walking pets, to sitting pets whose owners leave town, to grooming services, if you know to take care of different pets, you can start a home business.
  2. Yard care/landscaping: Provide lawn care and yard care services, as well as landscaping. You can even design yards to look more attractive. Provide services form mowing the lawn, to fertilizing, to planting bushes. You can even install sprinkler systems.
  3. Hauling: Many people need help hauling, but don’t have the vehicles for it. You can haul refuse away, or you can bring bulky purchases home from the store for someone whose car is too small.
  4. Tax prep/accountant services: There is actually an account in my town who works out of his home. He has a home office, and provides tax preparation services and other accountant services. You can do the same. In many cases, clients need only drop something off, and you can work on it at home.
  5. Run errands: There are a number of people who don’t have time to do their own shopping, pick up the dry cleaning, or run other errands. You can provide these services for others, giving them more time in the day while you take care of the annoying errands.
  6. Elder care: If you have the right certifications, you can start an elder care business from your home. This can include taking care of the elderly, checking up on them, or just providing companionship.
  7. Massage therapy: If you have the right certifications, and the right licenses, you can provide massage therapy services from your home.
  8. Home health exams: You can base out of your home, and travel in your local area, to perform home health exams. In fact, the last time someone came to draw my blood, weigh me and take a urine sample for my life insurance, it was an independent contractor running a business out of her home. Insurance companies and others can contract with these professionals. You have to have the appropriate training, though.
  9. Personal care: If you have the right equipment, licenses, and the know-how, you can cut hair in your home, or provide manicures and pedicures, or provide other personal care services. One of my friends invested in a barber chair, and it’s set up in her home, where she can cut hair and earn a little money.
  10. Babysitting: Take care of others’ children and get paid for it. You will have to meet state regulations, though. However, if you set up properly, you might actually be eligible to receive state assistance to provide meals for the children your watch.
  11. Sell stuff for others: Help those  who don’t have the expertise or the time to sell their own stuff. Help them sell items on eBay or on Craigslist. Keep a portion of the sale as a commission for yourself.
  12. Bookkeeping/payroll: Offer your services to small businesses in town, or offer them over the Internet. Keep track of others’ books and payroll, saving them time.
  13. Virtual assisting: You can provide your organizational and other skills to others with the help of the Internet. You can offer services to locals, or you can offer them to those on the other side of the country. Make phone calls, schedule appointments and more.
  14. Transcription: Many people need notes transcribed. There is also a need for voice records and other other records to be transcribed. Charge for your services, and you could set up a good home business.

Life Skills: Help Others Improve Their Lives

Do you think you could help others improve their lives? If so, you might be able to try one of these business ideas — which you can do from your home.

  1. Life coaching: Help others find their calling in life, or get back on track with their lives.
  2. Career counseling: If you are connected in your career, and know how to help others create resumes and improve interview skills, you can charge others to help them get a foot in the door as a career coach.
  3. Financial planning: Many financial planners offer services out of their homes. Create plans to help others get back on the right financial track.
  4. Stress management: Hold meditation classes and/or yoga classes in your home. You can also help with other stress management techniques, teaching constructive ways to control anxiety.
  5. Spiritual consultations: There are a number of different ways that spiritual consultations can take place, depending on spiritual choices. However, in some cases, if you are a practitioner of different methods, you can help others find peace and connection with their spirituality. This can include astrology, Reiki, and other traditions.
  6. Mediation: Set yourself as a mediator. Solve problems between family members, and even help in cases of divorce. You may need the right certifications, though.

Make Something — And Sell It

Another way to start your own business is to make something, and then sell it. There are a number of places to sell your handmade goods. From local craft fairs and shows, to online marketplaces like Etsy and eBay, it is possible for your to earn a living from making things. Here are a few items that you can make, if you have the skill, and sell:

  1. Fishing flies: Fly-tying is a great art — and fishermen and would-be fishermen will pay good money for high quality flies.
  2. Sewing/knitting/crochet/quilts: If you can produce handicrafts by sewing, knitting, crochet or quilting, you can sell the results for money. You can create custom pieces, made to order, or you can produce items to sell later. My sister-in-law even creates patterns to sell so others can make her designs.
  3. Woodworking: Create beautiful items out of wood. You can produce items to order, or see what sells.
  4. Jewelry: My wedding band was made, custom, by a jewelry maker who created items out of a workshop attached to her house. Create jewelry, and sell it to others.
  5. Scrapbooks: Put together albums for others. Create scrapbooks and other memory books for those who want to capture the essence of life. You can even use your skills at digital scrapbooking to make items for others.
  6. Get creative: There are a number of other things you can make to sell. An enterprising young man in our neighborhood makes wallets out of duct tape and sells them. Consider what else you can make, than might be creative and useful, to sell.

Passive Income

No home business list is complete without passive income ideas. It’s true that no income is truly passive, since you will need to do some work to maintain your income stream. But it is possible to set money-makers in motion, under the name of a home business, and cultivate revenue.

  1. Income investing: Create an income portfolio with dividend stocks, bonds and P2P lending. Resources like www.forex.academy can teach you more about trading and investing in a way to achieve passive or residual income.
  2. Real estate/rental property: Buy income property and earn money. Whether you lease it out a business, or get renters, you can receive income regularly. Hire a manager, and you won’t have to do much at all.
  3. Web property: Buy web sites and monetize them. Yes, this can be work at the beginning, but once you get things going, it can provide income. Hire others to write for you, or do other tasks, and you won’t have to do as much work.
  4. Affiliate marketing: You can sell items through affiliate programs. As long as others keep buying in, or participate, you can earn money.
  5. Royalties: Create something once, and keep receiving money from it. You can also do this without sharing the profits with someone else. Create your own ebook and sell it yourself on a web site, or even on Kindle.
