Are you in a home business?

There are many folks out there, about 100 million worldwide, that are building some kind of a team for their home based business. They are busy prospecting, contacting, etc when they are engaging their business of network marketing when they are working from home.

How about you?

What are YOU doing to recruit new folks into your team?

Online marketing?

Offline marketing?

Social Marketing?

Mobile Marketing?

Some other kind of marketing that will bring new blood into your team?

ONE thing has to happen in order for the new person to join you: YOU RECRUIT THEM.

But often many folks are NOT recruited because they were well, not recruited correctly.

Some folks say that this is a “throw it up against the wall and see what sticks” business.

They are amateurs if that is what they are thinking. Pure and simple amateurs.

Today, you need more then just numbers. Numbers are easy to gain with social media and mobile recruiting…but that is not enough.

You are missing something.

Something that will PULL people towards you and often they will recruit themselves.

What is THAT THING?

Well, before we get started, let me ask you a question:

WHAT got you interested in the home business profession? What ONE THING?

The answer for 99% of the people is the same.

It is for me.

It is for you.

And it is for most every other leader and distributor in this profession of home business.

Think back…and see what GOT YOUR ATTENTION.

The weird thing is, what usually gets a person’s attention to enroll in a network marketing business, is often overlooked and often even forgotten. The new distributor is more focused on Financial goals and activity goals to worry about anything else.

How about you?

The ONE THING that 99% of the folks get into this business for is simple:

They see Great VALUE in the business and products for changing their life for the better in some way.

Ok…if that is the case…

Then here is what most recruiters are MISSING in their  recruiting and are not even aware of it, whether offline or online recruiting. Whether mobile recruiting or social recruiting.

It is the same.

WHAT is that missing element in most recruiting?

A VALUE GOAL.

What is THAT?

When you recruit someone, you MUST bring some kind of VALUE to the process. You need to set a MINIMUM goal of some kind of VALUE.

The MINIMUM goal you should set as a Value Goal is for the prospect to SEE YOU as a VALUE to their life and as a leader. If you achieve that, then you are well on your way of moving the prospect into the recruiting process.

Even a simple work of kindness is VALUE beyond compare.

A Value Goal for a weight loss product would be to bring VALUE of a slimming down to the prospect or someone they know.

A Value Goal for skin care would be to show the prospect what Value the product was to other customers and then connect the prospect’s face to the hope of those pictures.

A Value goal is something that you SET and then your subconscious goes to work to bring the goal about.

This will accelerate dramatically your marketing success in your mlm network marketing home based business!

It is time you started the journey to closing jsut about everyone you talk to about your business.

A good “Closing Strategy” must have 4 things:

1. It MUST feel NATURAL to the prospect.

If your closing strategy doe not feel NATURAL to the prospect, they will be resistant. You will struggle with the process.

2. It MUST feel NORMAL to the home business prospect.

How the strategy works MUST feel NOrmal and something they woulf hear in a normal conversation.

3. It MUST feel NON- AGENDA to the mlm prospect.

The issue with many distributors is their closing strategy feels like it has an AGENDA.  You WANT something.

4. It MUST contain MAGNETIC VALUE and PULL the prospect towards you.

There must be VALUE for the prospect and so much VALUE that it PULLS the prospect towards you.

If you learn these 4 closing MUSTS, you will find it easier to close your prospects in your mlm network marketing home business.

Sales and Marketing are a part of your home business and network marketing business. It requires the right things to happen for things to happen like you want them to. Influencer marketing is focuses on using key leaders to drive your brand’s message to the larger market. Rather than marketing directly to a large group of consumers, you instead inspire / hire / pay influencers to get out the word for you. Influencer Marketing often goes hand-in-hand with two other forms of marketing: social-media marketing and content marketing. Most influencer campaigns have some sort of social-media component, whereby influencers are expected to spread the word through their personal social channels. Many influencer campaigns also carry a content element in which either you create content for the influencers, or they create the content themselves. Though social-media and content marketing often fit inside influencer campaigns, they are not synonymous with influencer marketing.

You may be confident in your real estate marketing skills, but if you’re like most Realtors, you know more about helping customers buy and sell houses than you do about marketing. You may not consider real estate marketing services to be the greatest marketer, though.

ALL the time.

 To learn more so I can become more. You should as well. In my daily pursuit of excellence, I run across great articles and posts all the time that are a part of marketing and sales and leadership, but maybe not a part of the  home business profession. I recently ran across an article on SalesBriefs– and GREAT place to learn more for  the sales experts and I have had some articles on there as well.

I want to share a part of an article with you that I was blown away by as it truly is applicable to our profession. It comes from Dirk willard, who actually writes for chemical sales folks. But this time he has something that can apply to the home business professional and wanted to share it with you:

Despite e-mails and other modern conveniences, selling still is best done face-to-face.

 You must believe in yourself and your product.

 Selling is about infecting the buyer with your enthusiasm for your product. Buying is an emotional experience.

Your goal is to build a strong working relationship with the person who actually can hire you — hopefully, one that lasts for years. Be honest but guarded, generous but firm about necessary profits, and committed to the project but available to spend time on others.

Choose your words carefully, listen to the tone of your voice, read the client’s mind if you can.

 Walk in the person’s shoes. And, never ever bad-mouth the competition — it creates negativity and begs critical comparisons.

Qualify the client. Is the person merely collecting bids or really shopping? Try to arrange a face-to-face meeting with the actual decision-maker.

Ideally you’ll want to sole-source a contract. That means you must offer something the client can’t get elsewhere or some essential expertise. Take care during this process to control trade secrets; a client could become a competitor.

Balancing expertise with likeability is one of the toughest things a salesperson must do.

Many times a client is an inexperienced engineer who may feel threatened by the salesperson’s know-how and smarts.

Put the client at ease by asking lots of questions and gently helping whenever you have to fill in the gaps.

Perhaps the easiest ploy for winning is to appeal to the client’s ambition for personal advancement — hiring you could help. A tour of your engineering firm is a must, but focus on the client’s specialty or other pertinent departments. If the person is a chemical engineer, just mentioning you have a structural engineer should suffice.

Now that the client knows your name, make sure it’s remembered when there’s a contract to be won.

That’s where bidding comes in. Don’t let a salesperson write the estimate alone. Make sure to include the following costs: 1) business development; 2) bid preparation and negotiation; 3) project team orientation; 4) meetings and reviews, and; 5) idle time.

After bidding comes closing. This can be the most difficult phase of a sale. Remind the client that your bid has an expiration date but don’t be annoying — keep the enthusiasm going.

Meet face-to-face as much as possible. Assure the client of your undivided attention, even if that’s not strictly true; after all, to make money, you want your team busy on numerous projects simultaneously. This will help dispel your natural hungriness for the contract.

The final phase involves not just delivering the product but bolstering the prospects of winning future work. The salesperson should act as liaison between the client and the project manager, and help resolve any issues.

Building a good reputation can play a big role in securing future business.

WHERE are YOU PLANNING ON LOOKING for your home business prospects in social media?

What would it mean to know where the best sites are to recruit in social media?

This is a HUGE question as social media is so varied and eclectic. There are SO MANY
social networking sites that you can waste your time on many of them.

Where is the BEST Place PROVEN to work for recruiting?

Here is a secret: Find 3 or 4 PRIMARY social media sites as well as 3 or 4 secondary social media sites and “nest” there or a while.

Work them daily and relentlessly.

Why only this many?

Why shouldn’t you be working 100? After all, there are over 4000 social sites out there!

The Reason?

Credibility and Visibility.

If you show up on a social site only on occasion, you will not be viewed as a true participant in that social media site.

You must have a consistency in your visibility.

Did you catch that?

You must have a Consistency in your Visibility.

Many do not.

They are on a social site only once in a while and expect to be taken seriously as a social
networker. Your consistency in presence is a determining factor in your making friends, as well as your posts and questions being seen and addressed.

No, you do not have to spend all day on a site.

But being there for a few minutes every day goes a LONG way in Social Recruiting for a home business.

Yes, as a corporate recruiter, you must be consistently visible on the job boards as well
as the social career sites. No doubt. But it is not as nearly as important as when you own a home business. In corporate recruiting, we use resume sites as well as social media. In home business, it is more focused on social media and funnel marketing.

Consistency in Visibility must include you being active daily and weekly in:

 # 1 :  Conversations.

        Making new friends.

  • Getting new followers and connections.
  • Updates.
  • Videos.
  • Posts.
  • Tweets.
  • Comments on threads.
  • Joining groups.
  • Sharing your photographs with people.
  • Sharing your thoughts.

How simple.

But yet many do not remain consistent in their efforts. All of that would take maybe 15
to 20 minutes a day. If you invest 30 minutes a day in social media, you can find some golden possibilities for candidates.

WHERE are you planning on looking for possible prospects?

I would recommend 5 sites that have worked well for me, to start if you want to locate
candidates for your home business:

LinkedIn.

Facebook.

Twitter.

Google+

Fast Pitch Networking.

(And now maybe Pinterest- new kid on the block)

 NOTE: The number one corporate recruiter in the nation for a national recruiting firm  says, “And If I was working a home business I would work NICHE sites, including sites like Activerain.com. This is a real estate social networking site that houses thousands of real estate agents open to alternative cash flow options. But I would work it gently and not aggressively. I would focus on the main social sites,  but still work niche sites.”

There are other social media sites out there, but these are the ones I personally have recruited the most from. And I just started with Google+ recently but the results have been very impressive so far.

These social sites I have mentioned seem to offer the best possible candidates for recruiting in home business network marketing mlm.

1. Add urls for social profiles to business cards and make them lead to a page that will talk about your product or business.

2. Purchase a unique domain for Facebook Fanpages etc. (i.e., http://www.pamsfanpage.com, or www.loseweightnoweasily.com

3. Add QR code to your business cards that jumps the prospect to a video that will play telling them about the benefits of owning your own business in today’s economy.

4. Don’t clutter your business card with useless info and ensure to keep brand consistent with all other platforms. Think BRANDING when setting your card up.

5. Add bio from Twitter account and then ask them for their twitter account so you can follow them.

6. Add tweet style bubble with a favorite Success Quote, Wealth Quote, Leadership Quote  tagline or customer benefit of your products.

18. Put a voice mail number to call that has some great Success quotes, your story, and then invitation to a webinar that you are doing.

All I can say is B.S!  (That stands for Belief Systems.)  Email is still a viable force in the home business arena, and YES Mobile is making great gains and transforming marketing- but email is still powerful to use.

You can maximize your email Visibility easily, and you do this through available tools and software.

NOTE:  Email is ONLY one of the tools that are used today. Social Media, Mobile media, and also online software are powerful tool to use as well. I think that email is something you can integrate with your other tools and maximize your visibility with it.

And one other thing: Email is NOT as powerful as it once was as only 27% of emails are opened compared to 97% of all texts. Biut email marketing is still a great force in recruiting and prospecting in your home based business and I use it, but I use SMS more.

How can you maximize your visibility through email?

1. Leverage an email newsletter to nurture audience, client and partner relationships.

2. If you don’t already have an email service provider, sign up for a service that meets your needs. My favorite is http://1automationwiz.com but I know it is more than some businesses need.  Other popular services include MailChimp , Constant Contact or Campaign Monitor.

3. Add opt-ins boxes via embed code on every social network platform that supports such.

4. Create several whitepapers that provide value to your audience and leverage as a call to action to inspire people to subscribe to your newsletter.

5. Add the opt-in box to your Facebook tab. Require a “like” before they can see the opt-in box and be enabled to download the whitepaper or other call to action. There is software that you can use for your facebook fanpage that forces “likes.”

6. Add the urls and mentions for your top social media profiles to the bottom of your email newsletter.

7. Analyze, measure & refine your usage of email based upon key trends found within the data. What links are your subscribers clicking? What subject line inspires the most opens? What are the click thru rates?

8. Do a SERIES of email trainings that people can subscribe to that will be sent to them via AUTORESPONDER, and they will love you for it. People LOVE series of VALUABLE trainings in their email box, as well as in their mobile screen as well.

Defining this is critical. If you do not have a PLAN in place in Social Recruiting as
far as what you want them to do, you are planning to fail.

It is not good enough identifying who YOU are looking for. You must know what they are TO
DO when you find them. And you must know what YOU are to do when you locate that candidate.

What is your Social PLAN to move them forward in the initial recruiting process?

“It was when we came up with what I call ‘The IFP’ (Initial Filter Plan) for when we located a candidate that really helped activate and accelerate the
recruiting process. We needed a very brief step by step action list for the
candidate to complete. The candidate went quickly through the 3 actions, as it was not difficult to complete quickly.  It took maybe 4 or 5 minutes.

 This helped identify where the candidate REALLY was as far as employment possibilities. We actually put it together to FILTER OUT the candidates that were not serious. I believe that if you are in the home business profession, you need an initial  filtering system for Social Recruiting as
well. It really makes you look professional and you end up pursuing who is
truly interested in your home business via social media.”

I will tell you the first thing we asked them to do was fill out a quick 7  question online survey asking about their  current employment and possibilities about future employment.

We called it “The Destiny Profile.”

 It was focused on finding the Dissatisfaction and the PAIN in their job- if it existed. It also asked about the type of boss, type of position, and  the JOY they were looking for
in a Dream job. It took maybe a total of 3 minutes or less.

It really helped frame the conversation and the direction we needed to go, as well as
potential of the candidate. You may want to consider a similar process for your
home business social candidates.

What you want your social media prospect to DO is critical and must be well thought out. YOUR JOB is to help RELIEVE the PAIN they are going through in their life.

These are some ideas on understanding WHAT you want your prospect to DO, being clear on it and understanding that if they do not DO something, you will never recruit them in your mlm network marketing home business.

What traits do you look for in a social media prospect for your network marketing home business?

What are the most important traits for a prospect to have in social media recruiting?

Do YOU have any traits you especially look for in your social media mlm recruiting?

Most distributors do not have any clue of the traits they are looking for when they are recruiting on social media. They just “shot gun it” and see if they can hit the right one.

THAT is a crazy way to recruit in this business of home business network marketing.

I have found that there are 5 traits that are needed for a GREAT social media prospect and if you know them you will be more aware of them for your social recruiting efforts.

I always looked for 5 traits in people – online and offline–to be considered a possible recruiting candidate for my company , when I was daily working social media for recruiting. They may not be what you think you should look for in a prospect, but in Social Networking, it is CRUCIAL.

Here are the  traits:

1. VERY Visible.

2. Likes Attention.

3. Ambitious.

4. Uses Multiple Media channels to communicate.

5. Dreamer.

Ok….

Now do not get me wrong!!!

The recruiting candidate definitely will need certain education, skill set, experience, connections, and good work to meet my needs for my company, as well as other things that play into the recruiting process.

But these 5 traits seemed to work well when at least approaching them about a possible
career change or more money. It helped identify who would be a better candidate
and leader when talking to them.

I would think these traits would be critical for a home business in the social media space.

1. Very Visible means just that.

You know they are seen every day by design on social media sites.

2. Likes Attention means they also give attention.

If a person likes being in the spotlight then they will work hard to be there.

3. The Ambitious is important.

You can tell they are as they look to the future in their posts and updates. They have photographs of exotic places as well as big homes and cars posted.

4. Multiple Media Channels to communicate is critical.

You can tell they are a good communicator and networker just by the different ways and media they use to communicate on social media.

They use tweets, videos, blog posts, articles, updates, comments, and photographs. The more varied the media, the better. You can also tell who is getting the message across effectively by the number and kind of comments and who follows them on
facebook, Linkedin, or twitter.

5. A Dreamer is critical even in corporate America.

It REALLY is a must in the home business profession. If a person talks openly of their dreams on social media and even has photographs or blog posts of what their future looks like and where they are headed,  what trips they are planning on taking, cars they are going to purchase, homes they are dreaming of, you have a real possibility there.

They are looking for MORE and looking to ACHIEVE what they dream.
