Goals are where you are headed on a day by day hour by hour  basis.

Network Marketingis a very GOAL DRIVEN Success vehicle, and that is why many people struggle-they do not set the Goals that will DRIVE your business.

For example, in Galaxy Marketing company, you will find there are POSITIONS or RANKS that you must obtain. These are goals for you to focus on, work towards, capture and to obtain. Your company probably has these levels of achievement and you may already have been promoted- Congrats!

But yet- positions and levels actually — NOTE–are the FRUIT of Goals- and not really the goals themselves if you REALLY want to get technical.

You set goals on a daily basis for your home business and those goals you must engage and obtain to drive your business forward and also to get closer to the rank you are shooting for. Your daily goals actually are the DAILY DRIVERS in your MLM success, but your Rank or Title you are aiming for is the FOLLOW THROUGH FRUIT that occurs and happens when you Follow Through and obtain your daily goals.

Ok…then why don’t most people HIT their goals instead of missing them?

There is a secret that we have learned that you MUST grasp in your network marketing business and if you do, you will be amazed at what happens to your business.

There are 2 types of Goals:

1. Goals that YOU SET.

2. Goals that SET YOU.

Most people set goals and then ignore the goals that SET YOU.

Goals that YOU SET are targets and tasks and accomplishments that will drive you forward as well as your home based business. Those goals are what you plan on and aim for and then engage towards.

Goals that SET YOU are different types of goals that most do not set as they probably do not know about them and you may not as well.

Goals that SET YOU are the goals and rewards that YOU give yourself for accomplishing a task, succeeding at a phone call, doing a great presentation, or getting some powerful new friends or followers on social media.

These are the Goals that SET YOU in Motion.

Goals that SET YOU on TRACK!

Goals that SET YOU on FIRE with a focus of achieving so you can be receiving- what you have set as your reward.

NOTE: If you have goals that SET YOU- you will see so much more accomplished than you could ever believe.

Here is an example:

‘if I make 10 calls today and get 2 appointments, I will go to starbucks and reward myself with a gree tea and quiet time.”

“If I do 1 blog post, 10 comments, get 5 new twitter followers, and jump in on 5 facebook conversations, I will reward myelf that book I have been wanting to buy about Leadership.”

A Home business is simple enough to start.

Many folks do everyday and are happy they did and work very hard.

But…then something happens. They start going itno the FUNK ZONE and start questioning if it was a good idea to start their own business. It is all part of the  process of ANY Start up of any kind. But especially Home based businesses.

The reason?

There are 3 things that are critical to your success that most home business owners never even know. That is why I am writing this. I want you to deal in REALITY and understand you need these 3 things to success in network marketing.

Ok…what are those 3 things?

1. A PLAN that WORKS YOU- not you work it.

This is critical.

 It must be a plan that you feel GOOD about and dsoes not overwhelm you or intimidate you. You work the plan that you k now will keep you happily working but STRETCH YOU enough to get the results you need.

2. A Product that says “CONNECTION!”

You MUST be emotionally connected to your product and services. If you are not, you will find this home based business profession is a long road to haul. An emotional connection is powerful and magnetic and draws people towards you.

Most people are NOT connected emotionally to their product….and thus…struggle in marketing it effectively.

3. A Promise that keeps you- you not just not keep it.

Your product and home business must PROMISE something. It must promise Increase, Enlarging, Expansion, Elevation, Changing, Transforming of a life- something that will move the prospect to buy it and join you.

BUT- also it MUST keep YOU as you are so connected and sold on the promise that it becomes part of your language and lifestyle. THAT is what will keep you miving through the hard and tough times.

In Home business and MLM network marketing world, Microblogging showed up on the horizon about 5 years ago, and the world has never been the same since.

It has gone through some changes and modifications, but it is still a powerful arena to message about your business and home based business products.

Of course, there are other ways as well, but microblogging still is a powerhouse in network marketing.

What is microblogging?

Think of blogging with only 140 characters. Yep, you read that right-about 3 sentences. That is BOTTOM LINE blogging.

Yes, there is plurk,tumblr, jaiku, and many other microblogging services, but in the microblogging world, twitter rules.

And there are 5 Power Tips that will help you rule on twitter. Home business people should want to build a large following on twitter.

 It takes some effort on your part, but if you engage these tips, you will find the numbers of followers you have will increase dramatically.

Ok- what are the 5 Power Tips?

1) Become known as the “go to person” for your message and business.

You do this by broadcasting out little know information about what you do and your specialty in your home business. Scour the search engines and blog engines for articles and posts that will help people to know more about your business and products and what they are made of. And make sure that you send out mp3s and video urls as well. Become known for little known secrets and information that others are seeking.

Read that again: OTHERS ARE SEEKING!

Provide information of VALUE and Solution focused.

2) Create extraordinary content and give it to your tweeples-people that follow you on twitter.

Write something extraordinary for your home buisiness niche. Something that will define you as a player in your home based business niche. Whether it is skin care, travel, weight loss, or vitamins. Then tweet it out and watch if get virally marketed-without your effort. Extraordinary content WILL get forwarded. All you have to do is come up with it and then tweet about it to share with others. Give how to’s and solutions to issues that people are suffering with that your buisiness can help address.

3) Do an interview with an expert and then put it up on your blog, and let people know that it is there through twitter, and it’s extraordinary.

This will let people know that you are making an effort to bring the best of the best to the arena, and they will forward the interview. This could be an upline or one of the executives of your company, or one of the top earners. And you can put the url up on your profile as well if you desire. Get it out on facebook and orkut,  or even the new Google+ social media site, or any other populated social networking sites. Let the interview be a HOT topic on the twitter search engine. Get it up on friendfeed. And get creative about where else you can put it and tweet about.

4) Send a series of tweets out- a “5 part series on the secrets to <solving a problem> that your products or business will do.”

 Or whatever the title would be. Then put part one url in a tweet and send it out. The url contains the post of the first secret. Then do the second one and tweet it out. You should wait till the next day to send the second one out. But send the first part of the series and few times the first day to make sure people do not miss it. After 5 days of sending out the series- send out one last with a url to all 5 listed on a blog post. You can get a LOT of exposure with series oriented power tweets.

 

5) Ask Questions that will comple people to answer. Make them about the benefits of your products.

The message should be:

“Have you ever had this happen?” “Have you ever suffered from this?” “Do you know anyone that needs some help with their____________?” “What are your thoughts about people struggling with______?” “Have you ever thought about_______?”

These are the types of questions that will PULL the eyes of the readers toward it. CREATE some IMPACT and IMPRESSIONS with your tweets, not just words.

MLM – It is NOT about Movement or Motion but EMOTION

requires something that is missing in many presentations and efforts:

EMOTION.

FEELING.

MOVING PEOPLE – not just hyping them,

A ‘Lot of times, people are BUSY being BUSY and getting little if anything done. They focus on being in MOTION and not being in THE EMOTION that will draw people towards you and create a hope and possibility FEELING for their life.

So often in social media, or even traditional presentations there is a lack of emotion and FEELING.

What happens, as I recently saw on facebook, when there is no Feeling involved, there is a need to pressure of FORCE something to happen.

That is not a good thing and will drive many people away.

If you focus on what YOU GET out of network marketing, and not what the prospect gets, you will come across as pressureful and greedy and will turn your prospect off. I see this quite often online. And people do not even realize they are coming across like that.

I saw this on LinkedIn just last week. The guy was obnoxious and was really pressuring people on a public message to look at his business.

Forcing and demanding people to listen comes across as desperate and a possible  scam.

Lighten up and focus on what you have for the prospect.

On social media, always make it about what the prospect can GET.

“This ebook is FREE…”

“Imagine this happening to you and your family.”

“Dreams are useless if they stay in your mind. How would you like to see them in real life?”

Whether Video or Audio, or just a post, or face to  face, show EMOTION and show VALUE to the prospect in your tweets, posts, and appointments. My favorite emotion phrase I use a lot is this:

“I am so passionate about this,  I am sharing this message with people that I believe will see the extreme help it offers. If you have a second I would like to SHOW YOU SOMETHING that has made an amazing difference to my life…”

Maybe you should consider the same thing in your MLM Home Based Business.

Growth has Phases.

Just as the seasons are spring, summer, fall, and winter, so goes home based business. There is no secret that there are phases or seasons to any business growth.

Home based businesses are no exception.

Home business growth comes in a step by step, methodical growth.

It is called phases, or seasons.

You may disagree and think differently. But after 25 years in this profession, I can tell you that is the truth.

ALL MLM growth comes from seasons and phases of growth.

That is one of the best kept secrets in Network Marketing…it is a business of phases and growth…

What is a phase?

It is a period of time in your life that you go through and through those times you experience many things…one being growth…

Your MLM organization is no exception….it will go through 4 phases of growth…if you let it…

INFERNO Secret:

Most downlines never go through all 4 phases, as they get stuck in one and stay there…

BUT NOT YOU!!

You will stick with it and continue building your group till it reaches the phase you want it to be at…

OK….

The Four Growth Periods.

What are the 4 Phases of MLM organizational growth?

1) FRAGILE.

This Phase is the first period of time that you and your fledgling downline will go through….and it can be a rough one…

This period of time is where you are new, and really don’t know the business, your skin is not 2 inches thick, you have no prior experience in MLM, and you are on a major learning curve, and you will make mistakes….

This is where you are actually developing your belief and trust in the industry, and many things can shake your focus and belief….

Family.

Spouses.

Friends.

Co-workers.

Set Backs.

People telling you NO.

And the list goes on…

You really are fragile in this business, because you have not developed your “Success Muscles” to help you go on in face of adversity…and your group is as well…

This is where a lot of people quit…they never “get it” that you must grow beyond the Fragile Phase to build a business….

They got their feelings hurt constantly by their negative prospects…because they were in the Fragile phase and never grew beyond it….

In the Fragile stage is where most people quit, as they cannot take the Negatives and Disappointments that are innate to MLM and entrepeneurism…but their problem was NOT the negatives…

But their lack of understanding how to take them and what was REALLY happening with that kind of response….

2) SOLIDIFYING.

This second phase is where you have grown beyond the Fragile phase, and now your group is starting to grow more solid and be more consistent in Volume and paychecks…

In the Solidifying phase, you start to see some Leaders emerge, and volume becomes solid and steady….as well as paychecks start to get steady and consistent…

When your group moves into this phase, you will know it and sense it as well….your leaders will start to experience success as well as you and it is consistent…and you will see some leaders start to create their own identity in this business…

And you will sense some beginnings of momentum as well….

You will start to see some growth in your group that you had absolutely nothing to do with, and it will continue….

And you will see some new faces starting to show up in your group that you don’t know who they are, or their names….

THAT is when you will FEEL your group starting to Solidify….and that is where the majority of people quit…

80-90% of people who leave this business leave during the first 2 stages….and most leave during the first….

The Money Phases.

3) MATURE.

This phase is where the big money starts showing up. You can make a living in the solidifying phase…a nice one…but this phase is where the big checks start showing up, and show up they do…not only for you, but also your leaders as well…

This phase is where you start to have “Layered Leadership” and that simply means you have Leaders in layers in your downline in many legs…and they now start to have Leaders showing up in their group as well….and the numbers in your group now number in the thousands, and many are active Leaders….

The Mature Phase also shows that your leaders have taught and duplicated how to build leaders in their group, and the dynamics of your group here become exciting as “Mature Pockets” start showing up and they no longer need you, as they have “splintered” into their own leadership organization…

This phase, $100,000 a year is commonplace…
And Millionaires to be start showing up….

4) ROCK SOLID.

This is the “WEALTH CREATION” Phase….this phase is where Wealth is created and accumulated and Millionaires roll up in this business….

This phase is where no matter what you do, you cannot mess up your business…and it will continue on in the event of your death…

The Rock Solid Phase is where also you have many Mature “Pockets” of distributors in your group, and now you have Mature Leaders that have big groups and many layers of Leadership…

Many people get close to this phase but never achieve it as they lack the Leadership skills to take it to this level…and many are close to it, but yet don’t understand it is that last 10% effort that most never give that determine the Rock Solid phase.

So those are the 4 phases of Organizational Growth in MLM….

Fragile, Solidifying, Mature, and Rock Solid.

Home Business Social Media- 7 Reasons You Struggle with Social Media

in a Home Business today is as much as part of the network marketing culture as prospecting or in home meetings.

 Social networking is critical for finding good possible prospects in this profession today. I have used it for training efforts and it works well.

Home based business owners know that online recruiting is all part of today’s marketing efforts. But many times, social media marketing does not work very well for folks.

I have talked with many people who seem to be frustrated at social media as they say that they cannot find who they are looking for. And if they do, they do not stay.

MLM social media I have been teaching, (along with others in this business) for 6 years. There are reasons why it may not be working for you. We have identified 7 of them in our consulting with companies and teams, and these may be why you may be struggling with social media.

What are the 7 Reasons?

1) No Target to Shoot For.

Many folks have not target or goal that they are looking to hit. That is crazy. You need to have a set target and defined destination that you are looking to go.

It may be as simple as finding 2 new leads a day or expanding your communication with your clients like Southwest Airlines has done. But whatever it is, WRITE DOWN the target and then start moving towards the bull eye.

2) Expecting Miracles when a Message would do.

It is about your Message, not Miracles. I am a HUGE believer in Miracles, but in social media, it takes time for the Blueprint you have to take effect.

Miracles in 72 hours? Not gonna happen. But a strong message in 72 Minutes?

THAT is doable and a great start to a turn around miracle.

 3) Connecting- but Lack of Personal Connection.

Connection in social media is important.

But PERSONAL CONNECTION is IMPERATIVE.

You must create that Connection that moves past the surface and create conversations that start to build a  bridge of Trust.

That will do more for your follower count and friends than just about anything.

4) Providing Constant Volume but not Consistent Value.

Your messages, notes, posts, tweets, videos, and podcasts need to be Constant and regularly distributed. But without Consistent Value-people will quit reading them. You must be consistent in your posts. But also you must have VALUE in your posts. I send out posts and I effort to include a LOT of Value to the reader.

It is the same with you. EVEN-if you send out maintenance or utility posts, make sure they carry the Value to the prospect or reader-that will be appreciated and forwarded- not deleted and forgotten.

5) Trying to be Too many Places with Too Little Time.

Pick a social site and build there. My focus has always been pick 5 sites and stay there.

Automate everything else. You have ping.fm, and hellotxt.com, and other broadcast sites. Pick one of them, and then you can be on 75 sites or more daily.

But do it SMART.

Automate the sites with your messages and posts that you are not building relationships currently on. And build the relationships on the other social sites you are on. BUT- I recommend that you build a few relationships on EVERY social site you are working. This is only integrity. If you do that, your REACH in the home business profession expands drmatically.

Some people do not like broadcast social sites, but if you are a marketer, you better use them if you are going to create results over time.

6) Trying to be SEEN when You should be Helping Others to be Known.

You need to be a promoter on social sites.

 Become a promoter of great material, and great value. I sent out over 10 links last week of things that rocked. Most of the folks I did not personally know who they were, but knew others could benefit.

What about you? Do you run across things that really impact you? Let others know about it.

Become a Power Promoter and promote others and not just yourself. It works better that way. If you let others know about great Value and Content of others, you will be SEEN, HEARD, and KNOWN quickly.

Trust me. It works.

7) Ambushing the Conversation instead of Amplifying the Connection.

Happened today. Someone connected with me about something I sent out, and the next thing I knew, I was being pitched a financial deal that I was shaking my head on. They were relentless, and after I politely cut them off, they said to me, “I knew this social media stuff was a bunch of hooey. It does not work and people are full of it if they think it does.”

Au contraire.

It DOES work as long as you do not hijack and ambush the conversation with what YOU can GET. And instead focus on what you can GIVE to folks that will help them.

If you do that, what you have to offer they will embrace.

We have been blessed to build a highly successful business on facebook alone- not counting anything else–totally under the radar –quietly–and without hype or ambushing anyone.

You can too- if you do not make these 7 mistakes that a lot of people are in their social media marketing for their home  business.

Take each one of the challenges and check yourself on them. Are you making these mistakes? Are you in your MLM efforts really doing the things that will draw people towards you? Are you pushing to GET from social media  or GIVE to social media?

Social media in network marketing is about GIVING.
