Home Business Training- Will the Social Media Craze REALLY Last?

 

Home business success can be tough with many of the changes that occur almost daily anymore.

Or…it can be amazingly easy.

That is UP TO YOU.

Someone asked me recently what my opinion was of the “new” social media craze in network marketing and does it really work for MLM and Home Business and will it REALLY last?

Now understand that I have been teaching this for 6 years as well as many others, and it is not really “new.” And I also have training resources for it- full disclosure.

But I found her question quite  thought provoking.

I thought for a second and answered her with one word: 

 BALANCE.

You must be balanced in your approach to the social media arena as well as the traditional arena of home based business.

I talk a lot to owners of companies, and I have found that they are seeing more and more in their companies distributors that are OUT OF BALANCE and working their business  totally online. I had one owner tell me recently that their attrition rate had increased dramatically- because the field was not “anchoring” as I call it–the new budding relationships.

They were not taking it offline.

There is a whole new generation of powerful twenty somethings that are mostly online, as well as thirty somethings. ALL seem to be focused more online than offline. I work with a lot of them and some are incredibly gifted. But I held an interesting conversation with one of these amazing folks as a recent seminar and some revelation was starting to appear.

This young lady said that she had been totally online recruiting for 2 years and for whatever reason, could not keep a downline intact. She was constantly replacing the numbers. She was doing EVERYTHING online and seemed to be very frustrated. She said that her upline was pushing that method of business and that is what she learned to do.

But when she decided to try and  take it offline AFTER finding them online, (smart girl) and getting to REALLY know the person and work personally work with them versus just online, the strangest thing started to occur…

Her attrition rate started to  plummet.

Imagine that.

So the Home Business profession seems to be  trending more towards BALANCE and not skewed as much to online exclusively according to the conversations I have been having with folks.

Will it continue?

I believe so as many distributors are starting to see something they have not see in a while:

Their business growing with the the SAME people working with them that did last month…and the month before…and the month before…

THAT revelation will build a powerful MLM and Home Based business.

Here is a secret that may stun you:

You ALWAYS get the Results you are looking for.

What?

I can hear you now.

NO WAY you may be saying.

But it is true.

You may disagree…but over time, you will see what I mean.

Here is why:

Most people are looking for the SAME results they have been getting in life through their life…and this effort will yield no different.

That is one of the reasons many people struggle with their home based business. They are looking for the FAMILAR and SAME results without even realizing it.

You are doing it subconsciously.

Does not matter whether it is twitter, facebook, social media, one on one appointments, three ways, or in home parties.

And the same goes for your team. Many times, you are looking for the same results that you have been getting- from your team. You are PROJECTING that Expectation unknowingly.

Let’s be clear.

You MAY be saying one thing, but expecting another deep down. And because of that, your team can FEEL what you are TRULY looking for, and then give you those results.

Strange? Yep.

But true.

In your network marketing business, you need to change the EXPECTATIONS they are FEELING from you in order to get the results you desire TO you.

And the best way to do that is to simply PUT IT IN WRITING, and then PUT IT INTO AGREEMENT.

Write down the results and the goals and the action that will be needed to create the results. Then ask “How will you FEEL when you obtain these results?”

Home Business Secret:  Get them in the EMOTION of the RESULT – not just the thought of  the action.

Let the people be in agreement that the results are CLEAR and PRECISE– and written down. Focus them on the actions that will help create the results, and then pour into them the words and belief that they need to actually go out and DO the action, and obtain the results that their business needs to grow.

THEN you will start to see the results that you desire for your home based business in  MLM and network marketing.

What it REALLY Takes…

There are only 2 types of distributors in the home business profession:

1. Those that are Succeeding.

2. Those that are NOT.

I am not sure which one you are in, but regardless, you are one of the two.

Recently on a radio show, Iwas asked what it REALLY took to succeed in a home business. Fair question. I thought for a minute and I said that there was all of the expected answers:

Belief.

Leadership.

Focus.

Discipline.

Skill Set.

ETC.

But I said that wile all those are crtical, I fel that what is really the most important determining factor was rarely taught or even discussed. After 25 years in a profession, you observe, and learn, and then determine the facts as they are. We all do it. You do it. But we still have a tendency to keep to the more traditional answers as they are more accepted.

I believe that what it REALLY takes to succeed in Network Marketing is one thing:

A DECISION.

 Plain And simple.

Most people choose to TRY this business, NOT Decide to Succeed in it. Most people join a company, but not decide to become a PART OF THE VISION.

A Decision is unalterable and is unstoppable. A choice can be changed like your clothes. A Decision is from the heart. A choice is from the mind and is fleeting like most thoughts.

DECIDE and then let the POWER UNLEASHED  by your Decision carry your business to higher levels of success.

A person will respond to a person that has made a Decision to succeed much more positive than someone who has chosen to “see what happens” with there business. It is what they are FEELING from your Decision- a Power that will not be DENIED. There is little power in choice- only selection.

Choice determines direction… Decision determines DESTINY.

Decide. Plain and simple. Those that choose… generally lose. Those that Decide… get the prize.

How simple.

That is what it REALLY TAKES to succeed in an MLM and Network Marketing Home business.

What an incredible word.

It is a word that produces so many pictures, emotions, and feelings.

It is a core emotion of ours that drives us to do things we could never
imagine, say things that surprise us, and create a Success in out life we never thought possible because we did it for someone we loved.

I did it for Binky.

Binky is the nickname of my daughter, and for years, I worked incredibly hard so I could give her the life that I did not have growing up. It was
not easy, but what a Success motivator it was for me many times in my life.

When I felt giving up, there her picture was, looking at me and believing in me. and the thoughts of walking away from what my Success dream was suddenly started fading,and then it was time to go back to work, to do what I really did not feel doing- for her. I loved her and still do today, as she is my Binky, my daughter, and always will be.

We have an incredible relationship.

The Success Driver.

Love is an incredible Success Driver in life.

It will drive you to accomplish more Success than you ever dreamed possible.

Love is an incredible Power Source in life, as that is where the Source for Success really lies- doing something you love for someone you love.

And Love is an incredible feeling when it is right, and when it comes from the heart.

It’s all part of a successful lifestyle because love adds a dimension of fulfillment in life that cannot be explained…

It adds a view of life that is beyond words and any thinking.

It adds so much richness in life and Success that Success without Love at the core, is empty and fleeting.

Network Marketing Motivation.

MLM Motivation.

Two very misunderstood concepts. The average network marketer today wants to keep their team motivated and FIRED UP! That is normal, as you always want them to be mentally and psychologically elevated for Success in Network Marketing.

But here is the challenge:

INFERNO Secret

You CANNOT motivate anyone to Success.

They must motivate themselves. We waste so much time, even a lot of mlm trainers that teach motivation, trying to get the team and people pumped, juiced, jammed, onFire and motivated. That may happen in the moment from the excitement, but it quickly fades.

Keeping your team motivated and ignited simply is not going to happen unless you follow the Rules of Reality in MLM Motivation. These rules are based in reality, not hype, and honesty, not empty enthusiasm.

Ok…what are the 5 Rules of Reality in Network Marketing Motivation?

1) You MUST INSPIRE, not just Motivate.

The greek definition for INSPIRE is “breath within.” This means that you must create within the person the “breath” of confidence and energy that they can connect to and embrace.

How?

Modeling.

You must be the role model and guide to show your mlm folks that you are worthy of following, and are a leader. Do what you ask them to do, and do it BIG. Show them that you believe in what you are saying, and you do it daily.

And through your actions and words, let them “breathe” into their hearts, and keep them inspired and wanting to follow you into a greater life of Success in MLM.

2) You MUST Praise, not just Promote.

Praise is the secret weapon to motivating people. Many times, we will promote the new folks who went up a pin level, and that is important. But praising someone for a valiant effort will motivate 10 times more.

Why?

People will always appreciate being appreciated for the effort, not just the result. Motivation must have a foundation of praise and recognition. If you have that foundation and praise and recognize your people for their efforts as well as results, you will find that there will be more pin levels to celebrate.

3) You MUST pour into them what has been ignored about them.

Most people never get much of any encouragement. That is our job in MLM. We must encourage those who not only need it, but all who are on your team. There is nothing more motivating than the right word at the right time. A word of belief, or a word of “I am there with you” can go a long way in keeping people onFIRE.

You must pour into your team Big Thinking, Big Belief, Big Vision, Big Future, Big Life. You must constantly say the 4 most powerful words in network marketing: “I believe in you.”

If you pour into the person what has been ignored most of their life, they will follow you wherever you go, for the rest of their life. They will become ‘addicted” to your encouragement and hope that they feel from you.

4) You MUST introduce new Success ideas and Bigger Possibilities into their heart.

New ideas that enlarge a person are worth their weight in gold in MLM. Have you ever seen someone get ignited when they had an “aha” moment? You need to become the “aha master” and continually introduce new Success and possibilities into their life. Most jobs and family cultures are limited and shrink most people’s dreams. Enlarge your teams’ dreams.

The Million Dollar question: WHY ARE YOU THINKING SO SMALL?

Ramp your team up with some Success ideas that will expand and enlarge their brains beyond where they have ever been! Suggest Success books to read and CDs to listen to, and take them to empowerment seminars. Get them around millionaires in your upline if you have any. Get them thinking HUGE.

5) You MUST give personal time and attention to those who deserve it.

Nothing motivates more than personal attention in Network Marketing. Focusing in on one person for a time, maybe over lunch or coffee, and pouring into them individually. Personal encouragement is a great way to give personal attention to folks.

Find out what is meaningful to them. Find out what they TRULY want in life, and listen to why. Discover what is important in life to them and why. Ask what they want to change more than anything about their life. Ask about family, kids, faith, hobbies, interests, etc.

Find out WHO THEY ARE.

Discover what trips their trigger, and get them so excited that they would be 24/7 to get it. That is giving someone personal time and attention. It is worth it’s weight in gold.

You cannot motivate anyone. But you can inspire and pour into them so they will motivate themselves to create an MLM business that could make them wealthy.

Now THAT is true motivation in MLM and Network Marketing!

Happy New year.

You will hear that many times over the next few weeks, and it is a sign that new beginnings are at hand, and many people are looking at improving their lives and doing better in the coming year by enlarging their MLM business and paycheck in Network Marketing.

Are you planning on doing that?

Here is a better question:

Are you GOING TO DO THAT?

This year, you will need to be honest with yourself, and do what we always did. We called it a “Success Audit.” This is a New Years exercise that proved to be very valuable in our MLM Network Marketing business.

When you are building a home based business, you need to understand where you were last year, and where you are going this year?

We developed some Success questions that helped keep our focus where it needed to be, and continue our growth and development of our MLM business and ourselves.

Here are the questions, and I would encourage you to look at them, and answer them honestly. These may reveal to you what you need to work on in the coming year, and what to repeat as that worked well last year.

1) What was your greatest strength last year in your MLM business? Why?

This could be your greatest skill, what you found most effective. It could be talking to people, leadership, hosting events, doing conference calls, etc. What in your opinion was the strongest part of your network marketing business in the next 12 months?

2) What was your greatest weakness last year in your Network marketing business? Why?

This could be the one thing that did not work so well, and you have to work on it. What do you feel was the biggest weakness in your business last year? Identify this, and then go to work on improving it. You will be glad you did.

3) What one skill set did you improve the most in the past year?

This is what you truly worked on and became better at in past year. It may be leadership, training, recruiting, doing presentations, or many other things. It could also be being consistent, being disciplined, etc. This is worth celebrating, as you moved forward in personal development and Success in the coming year.

4) Over the next year, what is the one thing you are going to focus on and improve about your MLM home based business?

This is your “Success Priority.”

This is the ONE THING in the coming year that will improve and enlarge your network Marketing business more than anything. What is the NUMBER ONE priority that MUST be improved in your business? More downline activity? Better leadership? Better Communication? Better Training? More people talked to on a daily basis? The list could be long, but for you, it is only one thing. What would that be?

Think… what would that one thing be?

5) What is the ONE THING that you are going to improve and enlarge about yourself in the next year?

This is a BIGGIE! You need to set Personal Development goals for your future, and you must identify the one goal for self development that you need to work on. It could be simply that you will take 15 minutes a day and read or listen to Success materials that will build you and help enlarge who you are on the inside. We all need to do that! It could be getting a planner and keeping yourself organized and motivated. It could simply to talk to more successful people over the next 12 months and learn from them.

6) Did you and your group talk to enough people in the last 12 months? Did you hit your goal as far as new contacts?

Better yet, did you set a goal for new contacts? You need to set a daily goal for new contacts for everyone, and it should be a MINIMUM of 2 new contacts a day. This will give you at least a flow of new people that are looking at your products or MLM business. Your New Contacts goal is KEY to new growth in the coming months.

7) What is Your Volume Increase Goal for the next 12 Months?

This is a MUST. If you do not have a growth goal for volume, personal and team, then how can you hit it? You need to set a goal for at least 8% growth a month. If you do, you will double your network marketing business over the next year! Will that excite you? We did that for 7 years in a row! It was planned, and executed with discipline and focus.

There are three Major areas that we all need to focus on over the next 12 months for better and bigger results in the future:

INPUT.

What goes into your mind on a daily basis, comes out into your life on an hourly basis. What kind of INPUT will be dominating your mind and thinking in the next year? What will be influencing it? Who will be influencing it? Why will you allow that to happen in your MLM Home Based business?

OUTPUT.

What is going to determine your OUTPUT this year? Is it going to be what dominated it last year, or is it going to be different actions and thinking? Is it going to be bigger goals and targets, or are you going to fly by the seat of your pants as many network marketers do? Planned activity accelerates Success. Will you allow that for the next 12 months?

NO PUT.

What are you going to do with the NO’s that you get over the next 12 months and where are you going to out them? In your heart, or in the garbage? Most people are affected by them, and they become an anchor on the spirit and emotions. You need to put the No’s where they belong- in the delete files in your mind.

INFERNO Secret:

No’s are simply stepping stones to YES for your network marketing business.

Put the No’s down, and keep searching for the Yeses.

Success is NOT built on the word YES in Network Marketing, but the word NO. No will GROW YOU, ENLARGE YOU.

INFERNO Secret:

Over the Next 12 Months, You MUST GROW PAST THE NO!

If you do, then the Yeses you will get will EXPLODE in your MLM and Network Marketing business.

How do you succeed in MLM without really trying?… you can’t!

But now that I have your attention, here are some ideas that will make the business building process far easier then most people experience.

There are many reasons why people find MLM difficult, there are two, however, that stand out above the rest:

Inbound MLM Recruiting.

1. They use an “inbound” recruiting methodology
2. They recruit the wrong people

Let’s take a look at number 1; “inbound” recruiting methodology:

Most people try to recruit by focusing on the exact wrong information. The typical approach is to throw enough information at the prospect (company, compensation plan, products etc) that, hopefully the prospect will find something that he likes and join the business. The problem with this approach is…well…it doesn’t work! At least not often enough for most people to build a solid business.

I call this “inbound” methodology because it’s all about trying to recruit people for the sole reason of building YOUR business…it’s about your gain, not theirs.

I have had countless people try to “recruit” me by trying to impress me with their wonderful company, revolutionary compensation plan or cutting edge product, but no one has yet to ask me a single question about my needs, wants or “don’t-wants.” No one has asked me any questions that identify weather or not I might be interested in looking at making as change.

MLM Outbound Recruiting Success.

An outbound process is when we identify true prospects by trying to help those who have an unwanted condition in their lives which could be solved by their participation in our business.

People will not migrate towards change unless they require change. So, step number one is to identify the unwanted condition or the needs, wants and “don’t-wants” then offer the prospect the opportunity to explore a solution for THEIR reasons…not yours. See the difference?

If you are struggling in MLM, it could be because you are trying to recruit people for the wrong reason, thus, using the exact wrong approach and as a result of all that, recruiting the wrong people.

MLM Recruiting the Wrong People.

This brings us to point number 2; recruiting the wrong people:

Identify people who have a requirement for change first; people who have expressed through conversation some unwanted condition that might prompt them into action. Even then, you need to further qualify them as a prospect before your spout off about your company, your products or your awesome compensation plan.

The people you should be looking for are people who have a specific set of qualities. The ideal type of people who make the best business building partners are those people who…

1. Have a desire for change.

2. Are people oriented type individuals.

3. Are influential, in as much as they commend respect from the people in their lives and have an impact on the lives of others.

4. Are involved in service clubs, networking business clubs, or active in the community; they understand the concept of networking as part of a legitimate business model.

5. Are financially able to invest in their business in order to facilitate growth.

The more of these characteristics an individual possesses, the more likely they will be to actually succeed in network marketing. Once you have qualified your prospect using these criteria and determined that they posses enough of these characteristics to be considered a good prospect, only then should we begin the process of trying to help them solve their unwanted condition by inviting them to explore a solution.

Be an outbound networker, and watch your income grow.

3) Serious (Career) Business BuilderSerious Business Builders are the potential Super Stars of this business and company. And they are the leaders of this company. Their focus is amazing, and work ethic is strong.And many Serious Business Builders grew into this Role, by starting as retailers of the products only.
The Path to Success can be traveled many ways, but the key is to KEEP TRAVELLING THE PATH! Career incomes are made at this level.Which one do you see yourself as now? There is NO WRONG ANSWER! You need to do what excites you most, and then simply start.
Once you define what you plan on becoming, you do not have to stay there. You may start off as simply a retailer and share the products, and grow into the company’s number one earner All things are possible!
Decide what you are going to do, and then step into thjat role, and master it. You will be shocked at how easy it really is to crewater success in your life once you decide to. Especially in MLM and Network Marketing.

The One on One MLM Presentation.

How do you do a HOT One on One Presentation in Network Marketing?

Simple. Step by Step, and walking the prospect though a path that educates them on your program.

Then, do a weekly appointment, week after week after week.

In building your dream mlm business, your goal is to get at least one retail appointment weekly, and share the products with a friend. They should have listened to a product tape, or watched a company DVD. If your friend has not listened to them, then let them watch your compnay DVD while you’re together and leave a tape/CD with them.

You Need a BOTTOM LINE MESSAGE FROM YOUR HEART!:

Say words that reflect these:

  • The products work! It’s exciting! (Energy & Enthusiasm)
  • What if it works for YOU? (Hope)
  • Try it now! (Create Sense of Urgency).
  • Who else can you think of? (Referrals)

There are Power Phrases which will maximize your results and make you more money in the long run. Use them, and make a habit of saying them. Get with your sponsor to learn these Power Phrases and learn exactly how the company wants you to talk about the products and business.

Ok… you have decided how many customers you need this month. Now, you’re in their house, and looking at them. What tools do you need with you, and what do you say?

On a one on one retail appointment, you need:

1) Product catalogue and brochures

2) Products/Samples

3) DVD and/orProduct Tape CD to leave with them

Success Suggestion:

Maintain control and lead the appointment at all times. You are guiding them down a path.

  • Be brief and simplistic; as your time is valuable, and they need to see that they could easily fit sharing these products into their own lives. You want them to think, “I can do that!”

The Retail Appointment is basically divided into 5 parts:

  • Sharing the Company Information
  • Telling Your Product Story
  • Showing the Products and talking benefits to the prospect
  • Compensation
  • What’s next?

When you are in your friends’ and families’ home, you need to break the ice, “warm them up first, and talk about them, their family, and what is going on in their life.” Ask questions about them – you may find them telling you of concerns in their life where your company might just be the solution. Listen closely and get them talking and opening up! This sets the stage to talk to them about your company.

The Secret of Network Marketing Amplification.

Use what we call “Amplifiers:”

1) “Tell me a little bit about yourself, your family.”

2) “Tell me what’s new in your life.”

3) “That’s interesting, tell me more.”

4) “Uh huh…really?”

5) “How does that make you feel?”

6) “I appreciate you sharing that with me.”

7) “Where did you go on vacation this year?”

Once you’ve bonded and connected to the mlm prospect, move it along to…

1) Sharing the Company…

“Let me tell you why I am here. I have run across an amazing company, and I simply wanted to share with you what it has done to my life and future. I figure you may know someone who could benefit from these amazing products like I have. Let me share a little about the company…”

Then cover 4-5 bullets about the company.

2) Telling your product story.

“Let me explain what impact that these products have had on me and my family. It been amazing…”

And then tell them your Personal Product Story. Keep it brief.

3) Showing the products and talking benefits.

Here is where you actually show the products or brochure of what you are marketing. Do not over do it, Keep it simple and brief. Say:

“Let me share with you the products quickly and tell you about their amazing benefits.”

Show a companyDVD, or get out the product catalogue/brochure and briefly go over the products you are talking about, or simply hand them the products,(or brochure) let them ‘take ownership”, and you tell the benefits of each as they are looking at them. Show them the product testimonies if you have them.

“Can you see how someone could truly enhance their life with products like these?”

4) Compensation.

“There is also a way that you can get your products for free, or even earn a substantial part time income with this company. How would you like to get 4 paychecks at your job every month verses just one? We have 4 ways we get paid….”

Then cover the 4 ways you make money in your mlm compensation plan.:

There are 4 ways that msot compensation plans make money: Retail Profit, Building a Team, Leadership Bonuses, and Rewards, like cars and trips. Do not get too detailed, but here is a secret:

INFERNO Secret:

SHOW THEM How they can make money with your compenswation plan, , and then ask them what they are going to do with it!

The MLM Decision.

5) “What’s Next?”

You need to move them along, and get a sense or feeling of where they are as far as what you have said. Ask:

“Is this making sense to you?”

“What did you like best about what you’ve heard so far?”

Can you see yourself becoming successful in something like this?”

Or…

“Based on what you have heard, do you see yourself more as a customer or a distributor?”

Then move them to either putting an order together, or putting them in the next step of the process that your company teaches you to do.
