That is a part of human nature….we have a tendency to ignore what we need to do to become successful in life, because we think that we are not able to ever do that…

It is the same thing in recruiting… We know what we need to do, but don’t do it as we have a tendency to Ignore success in recruiting, because we think we will never become successful at it…and we don’t do what needs to be done, and we do what is “comfortable”, and ignore what is productive.

1)”Not Connecting with the Prospect”.

Many folks are too busy pitching to ever present.(CLUE!!!!!) And most people don’t understand that Connecting with your prospect is a sure way to take your recruiting to a higher level.

Find a commonality with them. Let them think “He/She is like me”. Connect on anything that you have in common and then talk about it, and explore it.

This business is a business of relationships and leadership. You start building relationships by connecting and then directing. If you want to master recruiting, you must master connecting with folks and creating and emotional bond. Then you will be on your way to recruiting mastery.

2) “Not Starting in their World”.

There is a saying that we have espoused for years:

You MUST start in their world….and then lead them to yours.

You have to start where they are in the recruiting process…get to know their world and their life. Get to know what is important to them and what is missing in their life. Get to know their life by asking questions about it.

Seek to understand them as what they are looking for and see if you have a fit for them with your business. DON’T try to drag them into your world of MLM…you must LEAD them…step by step, exposure by exposure…

3 way by 3 way….and create a path they feel comfortable with by giving them the info they need to decide what is right for them. Start where they are in life, understand it, and then show them how you can help them change it for a better future and lifestyle….THAT is recruiting!

3) “Not Being You.”

It never ceases to amaze me how many people get into MLM and lose their brains. They try to become their uplines personality or someone else…anybody but who they are. And people can read right through the phoniness. Why?

I believe that the “Fake it till you make it” syndrome has taken over,……but most people don’t realize that it still…..is FAKE.

Be yourself and yes, strive to be good at this business, but don’t try to be someone who you are not…as folks can sense that and read right through it, and it really will make you more BELIEVABLE!

The Consistency Factor in MLM.

4) “Not being Consistent”.

Everyone is trying to “break the code” of success in recruiting…and many have… What did they find? They found what the biggest Success Strategy in MLMrecruiting is….and they have broken the CODE….

And what would that be?

CODE= Consistency Of Daily Effort

Consistency is KEY in recruiting…and most aren’t. The word Consistency in the dictionary means “the substance and make up of something”…

What is your recruiting made up of? Hopefully it is made up of CONSISTENCY.

You recruit day by day…brick by brick….conversation by conversation… Are you?

5) “Not Promoting VALUE”

. The key word is there is VALUE. People do not do much that they don’t see Value in. People do not buy much they don’t see Value in… People don’t want much they don’t see Value in…

Value is the ESSENCE of recruiting and the Essence of any decision and the foundation of it. if you show your prospect how your business will help and improve their life, and how VALUABLE you and your business will be to them…

The REAL secret to recruiting in Network marketing… 

f you think about it… 

The secret to this business IS Conversation, and it is something we all have done for a long time, and many have even mastered.  Then let me ask an obvious question here:

Why do people not use more conversation as a recruiting tool? 

Good question….

According to psychologists, we hold as adults around 100-150 conversations a day minimum…and these can be very strong recruiting tools if properly utilized.

Have you ever talked to someone and after they have walked away, you thought…

“Shoot! I wished I would have mentioned my company or product…?”

Well….nowadays, you really need to be more professional with your approach in conversations, and also in general…

People today get hit up a lot by telemarketers and less than professional mlm’ers, and you need to have a much more professional and focused approach that gets their interest when their defenses are down… 

That is why conversation is such a great tool…most people during a conversation is at ease and their defenses are at bay…not up…

The Power in MLM and Network Marketing of your Words.

The power in your words and connection in your relationship can prove to be magnetic to many folks… 

So….

If there was a way to ask something that would come across like you are not really trying to carry on a recruiting conversation but a caring conversation…

There is a question that I have used, and taught for years that seems to really strike a chord with people…and gets them to really think… 

And the question is so soft that it usually gets a positive response…  When I used it, it rarely got anything but a continued conversation and interest…  What’s the question script?

1)”John….let me ask you a personal question that I have asked some other folks…I’m just curious…what is the biggest concern you have as far as where your future is headed?”  (Security…time…education for kids, retirement…etc)

2)”That really is important to you isn’t it?”

3) “Let me ask another question…if I could help you address that concern with a company and program that I have recently run across, would you take a serious look at it and see if it would be something that might be right for you?”  (usual answer is “sure”…) 

Then you simply move them into a conversation about your company, product and what else that is deemed appropriate… 

Easy?  Yep!  Does it work?  YEP!  Has it proven effective?  Absolutely! 

Will you try it?  Good question!!!!!!!!

I encourage you to try this “Conversation Recruiting” strategy and see if it works as good as it has for others… 

And don’t be surprised if you end up with a new person you have sponsored!

Always with the Retailer keep checking with them for possible distributors they might have with their customer base. Offer to call the really GOOD ones as a GIFT (CLUE!!!!) for them because they deserve it, and you want to make sure that potential superstars are not getting away…

Have a retailer of the Quarter…and every 90 days recognize the folks who are out everyday selling…

This is the second place you will find GOLD in your downline…give me 10 retailers over one flash in the pan anyday…

The Challenge of Talking Too Much in MLM.

3) The Talker.

This is the person who always either talks about what they are GOING to DO …or making excuses and whining about what isn’t working…

Most talkers are great folks, and usually well meaning. Their best asset for your business are the people they know and who you can help contact with the talker, or at least contact yourself to make sure you don’t lose a potential superstar. Spend the rest of your time left…10%…with the rest of this list.

The Talker will rarely do much, and can become over time very negative…this is when you must cut the cord, and suggest maybe this business isn’t for them, or they need to focus more on personal growth first…(CLUE!!!)

Talkers can be a great asset as far as motivating your folks, and they love to be in the spotlight…
