MLM Network Marketing Training- MLM Leadership for 2011

MLM Network Marketing Training- MLM Leadership for 2011

Welcome to the new millennium! You probably remember like I do how, 20 years ago, we thought of the year 2011 as some far off event in the distant space-age future. We romanced it for all it was worth, didn’t we? Now, here we are — the year 2011 has arrived, and with it come greater opportunities for Networkers around the world than ever before. What does the future hold for you?

To get an idea, take a moment, if you will, for this little “millennium quiz.” Your answers will reveal where you are in your business and the likelihood that you’ll achieve your vision for the future. What answers to the following questions come up for you?

1) What is going to be the driving force in your business this year?

2) What is going to be the catalyst for taking your business to the next level and beyond?

3) What is going to ignite a success inferno in your business and stoke it every week?

4) What is going to create a downline wildfire of growth in your business?

5) What is going to direct, navigate and guide you through the challenges that lie ahead this year?

These are tough questions and it may take a little time to ponder them. To save time, perhaps I can offer some assistance here — the answer should be just one word, and one word only for all five questions. That word is going to be the defining factor in your ultimate success or lack of it. The answer is the kerosene that fuels a fire storm of success in your downline and your life if you let it. It is written on the walls of the successful distributors’ hearts, branded in their minds, and reflected in their eyes. It is the catalyst for higher performance in anything, and can create more success in your business than you ever imagined. I know what I am talking about because it drove my Networking business for over ten years and those of all the successful people I know. It attracts success and wealth like a magnet on steroids, and contains all the secrets of creating wealth in this business. Anything that has been written about this business points to this enormous power in some way. It worked so well in the organization I was honored to be a part of that, and I’ve devoted my professional life, through PassionFire International, to taking the message to the industry worldwide. What is this answer, this message, I’m alluding to? Leadership — true, pure, unbridled leadership — the most powerful force in Network Marketing success.

Truly, no amount of instruction, training, or teaching will ever equal the explosive success power of passionate leadership!

We have a saying at PassionFire: “Passion is the Secret Weapon to Success, and Leadership is the Secret Weapon to Network Marketing.” When passion ignites, it can melt anything that gets in its way; passionate leadership is like an electric power station with focused, contained power that can explode anything it touches. That’s the power that will create new millennium millionaires in this industry. Truly, no amount of instruction, training, or teaching will ever equal the explosive success power of passionate leadership! I know a lot of well-educated, well-intentioned folks who know the mechanics of this business — all the right words, phrases and answers that sound great — but are barely getting by. They have incredible potential, but lack the leadership focus and heart that their downline is starving for in their success journey.

Do you realize your people are looking for MLM leadership? There is nothing sadder in this industry than when an organization that explodes with momentum eventually outgrows the distributor due to lack of leadership, and falls apart, piece by piece, day by day. This happens all the time! But it doesn’t have to. In this new millennium, we can change that. To that end, I’ve changed my understanding of what MLM stands for — for me, from now on it stands for: Millennium Leadership Momentum! For the Millennium, create Momentum with Leadership! All leaders know how important momentum is in this business — especially for the new distributor! With passionate leadership, you can create that momentum in your group. The first step is understanding what leadership means in Network Marketing.

Defining Network Marketing Leadership

Leadership is a set of skills, strategies, attitudes, and beliefs that we engage consistently, daily, and fervently for everyone’s benefit. To define it specifically for our industry:

Leadership in Network Marketing is boldly taking on the responsibilities and commitments of creating an empowering environment and a path to success that people willingly follow.

Go back and read that one more time and notice how it makes you feel. Are you that kind of leader? Are you doing that for others? Let’s take a closer look at that definition… .

The first power word in the definition above is bold. Leaders in this business are willing to step up to the bat, see what has not been seen, think what has not been thought, say what has not been said, and do what has not been done. That is a vivid, technicolor “word picture” of Network Marketing leaders. They are bold in their thinking, their vision, their words, and their actions. At PassionFire we teach that BOLD stands for Bringing On Leadership Destiny! Boldness creates a destiny of success while timidity is like a cancer in this business. Leaders get out on the edge and stay there, empowering others to join them. Are there people who think you can’t succeed? Do what you have not done before, think like you have never thought before, and accomplish what you `ve only dreamed before — it takes bold leadership to show them what’s possible in Network Marketing.

Next, note the word responsibility. Leaders understand the weight of responsibility, and do not shirk from it. They know that someone has to take action to make anything happen, and they accept that task willingly. They know what they are responsible for as well as what they are not. For example, leaders know that ultimately they are not responsible for their distributors’ success. They are responsible for educating them to do this business, preparing them for the challenges that might arise, and supporting them along the way, but each distributor must engage and embrace their own success.

It’s not unlike being a personal fitness trainer. The trainer can teach her clients how to lift weights, why to lift and when to lift, but they must do the lifting and the grunting. If she lifts the weights for them, she’ll get the benefits, not them. They’ll lose interest and say, “Weight lifting doesn’t work!” — sound familiar? Leaders strive to build permanent downlines always. They are willing to dig the pond, fill it with water, stock it with fish and teach you to fish, but the new distributor must cast the line.

The third power word in this definition of leadership is commitment. Commitment is the cement in the foundation of any successful organization. Committed leaders are magnetic, attracting people to them effortlessly. Why? Because leaders know that commitment is less something said or done than felt. It empowers anyone who comes in contact with them because they can feel it. We all know people in this industry who are sought after and respected, and almost without fail it is because of their unshakable commitment to success, to their people, and to Network Marketing. You will be forced in this business to do things you don’t feel like doing at the time they need doing or with whom they are to be done, but know that it’s your commitment in those times that will determine whether you are followed as a leader or eventually ignored.

Put simply, leaders are creators – they create something where there was nothing before.

Next, consider the word create. If I had to choose only one word to define leadership, this would be it. Put simply, leaders are creators — they create something where there was nothing before. They crystallize the future into a tapestry woven with the threads of dreams, belief, and action. Leaders create magnetic direction, powerful influence, hope, possibility, and environments for growth. Leaders have the extraordinary ability to see the invisible — the art of vision. They take a thought, and by sharing it with others and asking their help, bring it into existence. They create compelling visions that people can believe in — in Network Marketing, it’s often that most important of beliefs which can change our lives for the better.

The MLM Word CHANGE.

I see change as a sister word of create. Leaders are change agents — they create positive change in people’s lives. They know that change must occur to increase or expand anything. Change creates new directions and perspectives which are what Network Marketing is all about. Are you starting to see that Network Marketing and leadership are blended so tightly, it’s tough to tell them apart sometimes? Leaders don’t just accept change, they embrace it for themselves and make it part of their message. The power of their approach is in the choice to embrace rather than accept.

The next vital part of this definition is the concept of an empowering environment. In the same way that our environment on earth determines what grows, what thrives, what lives, and what does none of these, so does the environment you create within your organization affect its growth, stagnation, mediocrity, or decline. It must encourage and foster hope and possibilities, not hype and impossibilities. It must empower people to maximize their strengths. What creates your leadership environment? Your words, your moods, your actions, your consistency, your expectations, your caring, your beliefs, and your attitudes. Is your environment full of sunshine or dark clouds? Is it full of belief or doubt? Maximum empowerment brings maximum growth.

Near the end of the definition is the term path to success. Leaders provide their people with a clear, engaging, step-by-step path to achievement of their goals. In fact, it’s better to think of it not just as a path to success, but also as a part of success. By helping people develop a success awareness — a mindset of focus and power and possibility from the start — you give them a chance to succeed at every stage in the process. You do this by sharing tools and trainings with them and saturating the environment of your organization with expectancy and anticipation! Be out in front — say “Come on! You can do it, and I’ll show you the way. Few people take the time to celebrate small successes, the unintimidating actions or the seemingly insignificant tasks, but this is one of the most important things you can do for the growth of your organization. It is amazing how recognition and celebration of small victories produce opportunities for celebrating incredible victories.

The final noteworthy phrase above is willingly follow. Do your distributors trust your judgement implicitly? Is it worthy of their trust? Do they follow your lead and promote it to their organizations? New millennium leadership demands and will not settle for anything less than trust between upline and downline. One of the greatest secrets of leadership is that people will be drawn to someone who cares and has the strength to empower that emotion.

People are compelled to follow strength, and I am not just talking about power, but presence with power — and there is a difference. Lots of managers have power, and use it, but don’t have presence. A strong presence is felt, not spoken, and people pick up on it immediately and follow. It works like a magnet in this business. A leader in this business is someone who is going places and taking excited people with her. You see, people have one question they’ll never ask but are always seeking the answer for: Is this person strong enough to help me achieve what I want in life?

This is what I call the “unspoken determinant,” and if they assess that the answer is yes, get out your flute, because the Pied Piper has arrived on the scene! Strength in leadership comes from not being sold on the business, but sold out to it! You no longer are in the business, the business is in you! This creates a magnetic presence and personal credibility that people feel compelled to follow.

Together, these elements will create a leadership that can drive any business to the heights of success. It all starts with one word — decision. Decision is your catalyst for the leadership you’ve just learned about, the fuse that ignites and creates that power within I call SuccessFire. Decision is the flame that ignites all success in leadership.

Another PassionFire proverb is “Choice determines Direction; Decision determines Destiny.” There is only limited power in the word choice, because it is a selection that can be changed. Decision is a mindset, a “heart set” that is steadfast. Let me ask you a new millennium million-dollar question: Have you made a choice to try this business, or a decision to become successful in it? I urge you to lead yourself and your group into the new millennium ignited by the flame of decision — decide to let the kerosene of leadership explode your business into an inferno!

MLM Leadership Quest.

It is amazing how recognition and celebration of small victories produce opportunities for celebrating incredible victories.

This brings us to a vital aspect of your personal leadership quest. You must learn to lead you first, before you can lead others. The path to leadership success is built first with bricks of personal leadership, then with group leadership. How can people follow anyone who doesn’t display and practice leadership in his own life? You can empower others to boldness, commitment, discipline, and presence only if you display these attributes in your own being. This is why I mentioned earlier how organizations can outgrow distributors — it happens! Personal leadership comes from personal growth. If you have made a decision to become the best, and are doing the things necessary to engage success beyond your comfort level, you are displaying and building personal leadership. You don’t have to be perfect to be a leader, because ongoing transformation is part of leadership.

Understand this: There are two types of people in this business and two types only — method people and results people.

Method people choose the method they are willing to use and accept the results.

Results people choose the results they want, and accept whatever method it takes to obtain them. If you are going to be a leader in the millennium, may I suggest you become a results person, and use whatever method it takes to achieve your dreams. That is total personal leadership — the direct result of leading and moving yourself past all the limitations you harbor in your heart, and creating things in your life as never before. Leaders relentlessly prospect, approach, present, follow up, and sign up new people.

Work this business through the eyes of a leader, not just a distributor. There is huge difference! You’ll find that the path to success becomes much more easily traveled through the eyes of leadership. I encourage you to engage in ongoing leadership development for six months — face to face with a mentor, on a conference call, or in dedicated personal study of the wealth of resources available for the asking. I testify to the impact of this from experience — you’ll cut your attrition in half and your whole organization will feel the dramatic shift.

Blessings…

MLM Network Marketing Training-MLM Leadership for Tombstone Thinking

MLM Leadership

Leadership in Network Marketing requires sometimes to look at things in ways that others don’t…To see things in ways others never will…and to think in ways others don’t dare….

It’s called “Leading Edge Thinking”……..

And there is something that we at PassionFire call the “Tombstone of an MLM Quitter”…which says it all….It reads what the “Networking Dead” would want to say to the Company and their Upline…

But doesn’t dare…it reads what the “Walking Corpse” in MLM would want to say to the people that go after them in most cases…but don’t dare…

Why?

The MLM Path of Success.

INFERNO Secret:

Others have succeeded…BIG! And this Tombstone was written day by day, week by week, month by month..with the Letters engraved on by the Pen of Inactivity, Ink of Self Doubt, the Hand of Procrastination…and the Letters of Deception….

What does this Tombstone say?

Why would we learn from it?

How can we change ourselves before it’s too late?

You decide……

Here lays a deceased Network Marketer’s Dreams…..Full of Power at one time, and Hope, but soon killed with the cancer of “Group Think” and “They know what they are talking about-itis..’

The words penned but never uttered are written on this tombstone for all to see….and be advised by…..

This was not death by Natural Causes…but by Natural Excuses….Taught to them by the Anthrax of Mediocrity crowd….….

I wished I would’ve Talked to more people

Sad…but true. The ring of the death bell of MLM constantly cries out for that….because they realize too late that NUMBERS were part of the Success Formula…..

They were too focused on being BUSY…and not Building a Business…(CLUE!!!!) They were too focused on begging People …not Building them….They were too focused on Hanging on to the ones that were leading them on….not the ones who could lead them into Success…

The MLM Regrets.

I wished I would’ve been more consistent in MLM.

Woe to the “Spare timers!” You can work this business either Full time…Part time…or Spare time….and most work it Spare Time…when they can Spare some time and “Fit it In”…they will…

But that will create such a lack of Oxygen for your business..the Oxygen of MOMENTUM….that you will soon find your business passing out…and then passing on…..

I wished I would’ve trained my people…not Play-Trained them…

The sound of this rings hollow…….for the Training is not to be played with…but to be embraced and realize this is what breathes life into the Soul of the Distributor’s Dreams….

The bell of Regret rings with an empty sound…because Playing at training is the same thing as Playing with Land Mines…..Both will explode without any warning….

I wished I would’ve been IN the business…..not just in the Computer…..

The scent of realization sometimes hits hard….and can burn….but there is a certain mindset and heartset that you must acquire and grow…..If the Business is not in you….then you are only in the computer….waiting to be deleted.

I wished I would’ve given it just once…all I had…to obtain all I wanted…

Most people never give 50% of their best..let alone 100%. That will kill a business quicker than anything…for this business doesn’t require 100%…It DEMANDS IT! If you give it 100% for 90 days…as hard as you can go…you will never have a tombstone like this…

I wished I would not have been so good at Lieing to myself.

We all lie to ourselves in life…we all deceive ourselves to try to convince ourselves that we add up….that we are good enough..that we gave it all we had…and in the meantime we are killing our self respect because deep down in the recesses of our hearts…we know it isn’t true….and the cancer of “The Lie” eats away at our ability to face reality at what we are REALLY doing…and it slowly kills the belief in this business…..

I wished I would’ve believed in me more…….

The MLM Flu.

The Pneumonia of Unworthiness is a killer….it can reach down inside of you and destroy everything that you strive to do…we all doubt ourselves in MLM…..but it ‘s the ones who take a shot of “If they did it..I can do it..’ that survive and thrive in this business…..

You can believe in yourself more…..find someone who will let you lean on their belief while your’s heals…talk to an upline…or someone in your company…..and grab that Life Line of Truth that you are worthy…and that the Power of Greatness lies within you..just waiting to prove all the naysayers WRONG…

Let their Dreams die…..but not yours……in MLM and Network Marketing.

INFERNO Secret:

You want to know what Tomb stands for?

Taking On Miniscule Belief……

Don’t live in the Land of regret…..and sail on the sea of “What could have been”…

Talk to more people….Be more consistent….Truly Train your people…Be IN the Business…

Give it ALL you have for 90 days….Quit Deceiving yourself….and Start Believing IN yourself…..

And the Life in your business will grow beyond anything you could ever imagine….

There will never be a tombstone with your name on it…..if you DECIDE there won’t be..

Blessings…

MLM Network Marketing Training-Four Simple Tips for Networking Outside of the BOX

MLM Network Marketing Training-Four Simple Tips for Networking Outside of the BOX

By Todd Falcone

The MLM Box.

What box? I don’t live in a box! What are you talking about?

I’m talking about that little square we live in every day. No…not our home, not our room, nor our office. It’s where we reside in our minds and how we go about living our lives. The box represents our actions and our thoughts that bring about different results in the things that we do.

You’ve probably heard the saying, “Find out what everybody else is doing and do the exact opposite if you want to be successful” right? That is certainly the beginning of living outside of the box in one dimension.

To obtain better results in Network Marketing , do something different. Do something unusual or unexpected. Stick out. BE somebody. Uniqueness is a wonderful quality. Establish “points” of difference in all that you do. Living outside of the box is much more than simply USP (Unique Selling Propositions). It’s how we think, how we act, and how we live that makes the greater difference in not only our lives, but the lives we touch.

Even entrepreneurs reside inside of the box most of the time. Yes…even the successful one’s do. It’s easy. It’s what we know. Then, why in the world am I writing about getting out of the box? Is it just to give you more work, more to think about, more to do? The answer is both yes and no. Certainly, not for the simple sake of making you do more, but for the complexity of making you do more. Confused yet? I thought so.

The Creative Network Marketer.

You see…when your mind is stimulated, it creates. When you’re challenged, you rise to the task. Yes, you could easily live inside of the box your entire life and do quite well. Live a comfortable life, as they say. But, is that really living? It might sound like a great way to go. But there’s no growth in simplicity.

It’s easy to be successful living life inside of the box. However, it’s more fun and more fulfilling “outside” of the box…and, quite a bit more financially rewarding if done right. When you realize how good life can be outside of the little box we call home, you will want to venture out much more often.

What does “outside of the box” mean? It actually has multiple meanings. But…I’ll make it easy for you to understand.

When you are outside of the box you do things that are more challenging, more interesting, more intriguing, and more thought provoking. You simply do things unlike others. You make efforts to create memorable experiences. Your creations are lasting and people remember them. You are different.

MLM Outside of the Box.

Here are four ways to live life outside of the box:

  1. Smile when least expected. First of all, smiling is contagious and releases all sorts of good things in your body, including endorphins. Endorphins are substances that help to create a sense of pleasure, peace and well being. This may sound trivial or simple to you. But it’s something that can make a big difference. You see, most people don’t really smile that often. You remember the song, “Don’t Worry, Be Happy”? Look around, most people are worried and unhappy. Think about the difference you can make by simply putting on a smile! You’ll feel better, they’ll feel better and you’ll be making the world a better place. Think about how different it would be to walk through the streets of Manhattan smiling at everyone and getting a smile back. That’s a bit of a big task…but, at least you can do your part!
  2. Say it differently. How many times have we heard the hum-drum opening, “Hi…my name is…I’m calling you because you were referred to me as…etc.” First of all, I bore MYSELF silly if I stick to the same old stuff when prospecting. Imagine what I’d be doing to my prospects if I didn’t throw them the “change up” every now and again! I’m not saying that you ALWAYS have to do it differently, but it sure keeps you more on top of your game when you force yourself to say things differently that you normally do. Think about how a prospect would feel if you picked up the phone and said something entirely different than what they may expect. Of course, you’re all desperately waiting for me to share with you this brilliant new way of saying things to your prospects, right? Well…I wouldn’t be forcing you to think outside of the box if I said it for you now, would I? Be different. Do it differently. Leave varying messages on answering machines when you’re prospecting. Test out different words. THINK differently.
  3. Advertise in a new way. Running an ad? Be a little crazy. Look at what everyone else is saying and say it differently. Stop using the same old headlines and ad copy. Get CREATIVE. Isn’t that what “out of the box” thinking really is all about? It may take some time to get it down right. You may have to test out many different ads before you get it right. But, when you finally hit it right on the nose, you’ll be amazed at the massive results you’ll get. Try a different publication, location or newspaper to run your ad. ADVERTISE differently.
  4. Present it uniquely. Learn how to tell your story so good, so efficiently, and in such an entirely different and entertaining way that you simply can’t help but capture the interest of your audience. Once you have bonded and connected with a prospect that you would like to have in your business, you’ve got to tell your story. Telling your MLM story is simply conveying information to your qualified prospect that allows them to review your business in detail. However, there are lots of ways of telling the story. There are different mediums like live one-on-one presentations, conference calls, recorded overviews, websites, and so on. And, there are different WAYS in which you can present. Obviously, I’m not talking about ‘inventing’ some new word or piece of the English language that doesn’t yet exist. However, if you simply think a bit differently, you may be able to lay out the details of your story in even a modestly different way that may prove to produce a greater desired result.

I think you’re getting my drift here. Do it like everybody else does, and you’ll get what everybody else gets. Look like everyone else does, and you’ll be like everyone else. Sometimes it takes a little purple hair or a little flair to stick out in the crowd. Be daring with your business. Don’t worry about being part of the “in” crowd when you go about your business. Sometimes even successful entrepreneurs get stuck in the repetitive routines of daily life and get a little on the dry side.

Expressing your unique points of difference in everything that you do can do nothing but great things for you. You want to stick out, not blend in when it comes to developing yourself into a successful entrepreneur or Network Marketing leader.

Be willing to step outside of the box and you’ll be remembered. Stick in the box at all times and you’ll likely blend into the mediocrity and the vanilla of society.

MLM Network Marketing Training-The Essence of MLM Prospecting

MLM Network Marketing Training-The Essence of MLM Prospecting

by Paul J. Meyer

In the PEOPLE Business.

You have a great job! You’re part of a great company! You have a great future! You are in the people business!

I wish all people in business knew that they are in the people business!

Therefore, when if comes to prospecting, begin immediately to dedicate yourself in the idea that people are no longer people — they are all prospects for your company’s services.

When this idea is firmly implanted in your head, you will be amazed at how differently everyone appears. Before long, your new insight, attitude, and belief about people will create an even more remarkable change…a totally altered reaction toward what you had before considered “just a crowd.”

What am I saying?

I am saying that the people you see in cars, on the sidewalks, in the theaters, at restaurants, in sports arenas, and in various groups at holiday parades…they are no longer anonymous, faceless masses.

Rather, they are all prospective customers for the MLM services that you now offer.

Here’s something even more important:

Once you establish this truth, that “people are prospects…and prospects are people,” you will notice an even greater change in yourself. Prospecting will now be of paramount importance.

You instinctively and intuitively will be arranging your day, your time, and your life to see and talk to more and more new people until it becomes a dynamic drive, a force, an obsession. When this happens, you are on your way to a permanent and successful career in Network Marketing.

Because you now have a prospecting awareness, a prospecting consciousness, and a prospecting attitude, you are fast on the way to developing the prospecting habit.

Why is prospecting so important?

Because the whole process of selling is aimed at bringing together a product or service and the people that can benefit from its use…your clients.

The MLM Observation.

I have observed over the years that companies spend an enormous amount of money teaching their sales people and marketing consultants all sorts of skills and abilities:

How to dress, how to act, the history of the company, how to make sales presentations, using high-tech equipment with audio, video or computer displays, etc. Frankly, it’s all for naught. Because, without prospects, that person will become just another statistic.

Improving talent is meaningless without mastering the art of prospecting. In other words, you must develop a continuous flow of people to see, on a consistent basis, or it’s impossible to sell anything or any service.

Here is a list of a few of the methods of prospecting:

  1. Cold Calls
  2. Cold Canvas
  3. Observation
  4. Endless-Chain Referral System
  5. Old Customers
  6. Nests of Like-Minded People
  7. Centers of Influence
  8. Leads from Corporate Advertising

How many methods of prospecting are you taking advantage of?

And please understand that the more you know about them — your prospects — the more qualified buyers you will develop, and the higher your closing averages will be.

Set your goal today to make prospecting the most important part of your entire professional consulting, selling, and Network Marketing career!

Because I would rather be a Master MLM Prospector than the Wizard of Speech and have no one to tell my story to any day…

To your success,

MLM Network Marketing Training-TOP TEN WAYS TO SOFTEN YOUR PRESENTATION WITH BUFFERS™ AND EASY EXITS™

MLM Network Marketing Training-TOP TEN WAYS TO SOFTEN YOUR PRESENTATION WITH BUFFERS™ AND EASY EXITS™

By Hilton Johnson, The MLM Coach™
Copyright MLMU®
www.mlmu.com

I’ve never been the type of person who enjoyed making prospects and customers feel uncomfortable doing business with me. I hate rejection and I hate being pushy or aggressive.

In the 38 years that I’ve been in direct sales, I have accumulated hundreds of little phrases, comments, responses and some special language designed to soften my approaches and presentations.

Experience has taught me that when people come in contact with most network marketers, they are automatically on guard about how threatening the MLM distributor will be and how much time their presentation will take.

To diffuse that kind of resistance, I soften my approach and presentations with “Buffers” and I convey that I’m not going to take up much of their time with “Easy Exits.”

Top 5 MLM Buffers.

Here are my Top Five Favorite Buffers:

1. Identify with Your Prospects

When your prospects tell you that they’ve had a bad experience (or heard about bad experiences) with network marketing, identify with them by responding this way:

“I can appreciate what you’re saying.”

“If I were in your shoes, I’d feel the same way.”

“I understand exactly what you mean…I’ve been in that position, too.”

2. Agreement Buffers

When prospects tell you the prices of your products are too high, they are not the sales type or they would like to think everything over, you can respond with:

“I agree with you…on the surface, the prices do seem high.”

“Welcome to the club…I’ve never thought of myself as a sales type.”

“I totally agree that you should think this over. It’s a very important decision.

3. Buffer with Apologies

Whenever you make a prospecting call (especially by telephone) you can diffuse resistance right in the beginning by leading with an apology:

Hello Ms. ________, I’m sorry to bother you. I have some new information regarding _______ that I thought you might find interesting. Do you have a minute to speak with me?”

Other ways to use apologies:

“It’s not my job to inconvenience you in any way.”

“I can see that I’ve caused you to misunderstand me. Please forgive me. What I meant to say was…”

“I gave you incorrect information. I apologize from the bottom of my heart.”

4. MLM Permission Buffers

You can take the “sting” out of your powerful questions and important messages by asking permission to ask questions or to demonstrate:

“It would be helpful to me if I could understand your situation a little better. May I ask you some questions?”

“With your permission, I will explain how the program works…okay?”

“May I make a suggestion...why don’t I show you folks the marketing plan and then you can make a more informed decision…fair enough?”

5. Thank Them for the Complaint

If and when you have prospects or customers complain to you about you, your company, your products, services, etc., you can dramatically diffuse that situation by saying something like this:

“I’m really glad you brought that to my attention.”

If you personally made the screw-up, you can make your response even better by following with something like this:

“You’ve made me a better distributor today. I’m going to take immediate action to make sure this doesn’t happen again. Thank you.”

You can further eliminate or reduce sales resistance by conveying that you’re not going to abuse or waste your prospect’s time. You do this with “Easy Exits.”

Here are my Top MLM Five Favorite Easy Exits:

1. Accept It Or Reject It

Before you go on an appointment or just before you give a demonstration, set the stage with this language:

“Mr and Ms. _____, with your permission (Buffer), I will show my program to you. When I’m finished, you can accept it or reject it as you see fit. In other words, it’s entirely up to you. Is that fair?”

2. Sizing Up Your Prospects

When you have been invited to meet with your prospects (in person or by phone) for the purpose of explaining your products, services and/or your business opportunity, you can tell how receptive they are by asking this question when you arrive:

“Folks, how much time have you set aside for our meeting today?”

If they tell you they only have a few minutes to examine your program, this is a red-flag. In that case you may want to question why they have set aside so little time, reschedule the appointment or disqualify them altogether. (Hey gang, let’s not waste OUR time either.)

If they tell you that you can have all of the time you need, you can be sure that you have a very qualified prospect and you’re going to have fun giving your presentation.

3. Only Takes 30 Minutes

Whenever you have a little difficulty getting an appointment, this language will almost always get you in the door:

“Mr. _____, if I’m with you more than 30 minutes, it’s because you’ve asked me to stay…fair enough?”

(If your presentation takes more than 30 minutes, adjust the time accordingly.)

The MLM Exit.

4. Let Them Off the Hook

Before you begin your formal presentation, if you give the following Easy Exit, your prospects will not only give you their undivided attention and be more receptive to your proposal, but they will feel more relaxed and comfortable with you throughout your presentation:

“Mr.and Ms. ________, if you feel the least bit uncomfortable with any part of my program, please stop me and I’ll be on my way. I want you to know that I’m the easiest network marketer in the world to get rid of.”

5. In a Hurry

If you let your prospects know that you’re in kind of a hurry, the message will be clear to them that you’re a busy, successful business person and you’re not going to waste anybody’s time?especially your own. That will cause them to listen very carefully to what you have to say. Here are some Easy Exit examples that will do that for you:

“I’ve only got a minute to stay when I bring the (video) to you.”

“Just one quick question and I’ll be out of your way?”

“It only takes a few minutes to explain what I’m doing, and if you’re not interested, I’ll get out of your hair.” (Don’t say this to a man who is baldheaded.)

Special Note: Buffers and Easy Exits are NOT designed to mislead or misrepresent you or your company. They must be used with the highest degree of integrity.

MLM Network Marketing Training-The MLM Fear of the Telephone and Conquering It.

MLM Network Marketing Training-The MLM Fear of the Telephone and Conquering It.

by Tim Sales /www.mlmbrilliance.com

Let’s face it. More phone calls = More appointments. More appointments = More Money. But if Fear of Phoning stops you or your people from making more calls, then none of you will make more money.

Overcoming Your Fears

In the Navy, people overcome their fear of defusing bombs underwater with 1 simple process: Drill, drill, drill — and when you’re sick of drilling, drill some more.

This doesn’t mean read, read and when you’re sick of reading, read some more; that doesn’t make someone skilled at defusing bombs. It’s the same with getting appointments. Not that reading and learning the way bombs go “boom” and phones go “ring-ring” isn’t important — it is. But it’s only part of knowing how to overcome fear and be successful.

The point is that to overcome any type of fear in Network Marketing , you must have both knowledge and practice. And there’s no better way of overcoming telephone fears in Network Marketing than TEAM CALLING.

Why Some MLM Distributors Quit

Think about what would have happened if the Navy trainers ever told the bomb squad to go home and read about the most common ways a bomb blows up and then sent them out by themselves to defuse a bomb. And yet that’s what Network Marketing leaders are often guilty of — asking their new distributors to go home and make their list of prospects.

They’re given a sheet (sometimes) of objections they “might” encounter and then are told to call their prospects and invite them to take a look at a great business. BOOM! Ever wonder why that new distributor disappears within 30 days?

Few Guests at Our Meetings = Assault Team Training

Ever have very few guests at your regular business meetings? It happens.

Well, I put together a program called Assault Team Training — an event to teach people how to get past the fear of the phone.

Eight distributors were invited to the event (because we had four phone lines and wanted two people per phone). To attend, each distributor had to bring 250 names with phone numbers.

Everyone spent the first hour around a table writing a script of what they would say on the telephone to invite contacts to a business briefing that we scheduled three days later. Then each person read their script back to the group and the group critiqued the script with one major emphasis: Prevent the objection. We all agreed that in the invitation call, it’s much easier to prevent objections than to have to handle them. (See table below.)

AVOID THESE PHRASES INSTEAD USE
I recently became involved I’m working on a project
I’d like to get you involved I’m looking for the right person
Are you looking for a business opportunity Do you keep your eyes open for expansion/diversification
I think you would love this It may or may not be for you
You would be good at this This might be lucrative for us
New business opportunity Business idea or project
Are you interested? You might want to see this.
I want you to… You might want to or you might benefit from

You Start with a Script

Very often I’ve heard people say they don’t/can’t use scripts. That’s fine. Write down what you plan to say anyway, because you need to get comfortable with making your call. You’ll need to repeat it several times. It’s very helpful to “invite yourself” into a tape recorder microphone. Listen to the tape and ask yourself “would I accept that invitation”?

One of our scripts went something like this:

You: “Hi, John, this is Sue. Do you have a minute or did I catch you at a bad time?”

Them: “No, I have a minute. What’s up?”

You: “Great, I only have a moment myself, but I’m calling because I have a business proposition for you. I don’t know if this is for you or not, but I thought you might want to know about it. Are you available on [and give the date and time of the meeting]?”

Now, here are some responses you might receive:

MOST COMMON QUESTIONS AND OBJECTIONS

  • What is it?
  • Is this a pyramid?
  • Is it Network Marketing or multi-level marketing?
  • Is this sales?
  • What would I be doing?
  • I’m too busy, I don’t have time.
  • What is the investment?

The MLM Steps to Success.

Here are the steps to take:

1) Drill, Drill, Drill

(Drill is defined as training by continued repetition.)

Divide people into pairs and have them role-play with each other. Person A reads the script. Person B asks the most common questions or objections. Start slow and easy and get tougher as your partner gets better. It’s very important that your partner feel successful. Compliment his/her efforts ALL THE TIME. Then switch: Person B invites and Person A asks the questions.

Your job as the leader here is to help keep the calls under three minutes and to insure that the person making the call wants to continue making calls. As a coach, resist the urge to correct “everything” you see a new person doing wrong. You don’t want to unintentionally invalidate the person or make him/her feel that they’re messing everything up.

It’s much better for the coach to consider the whole exercise as a gradual learning process. For some people, it can be a huge success just to dial 10 numbers in an hour.

2) Hit the Phones

Two people on each phone line. Spend one uninterrupted hour at a time, 15 minutes on, 15 minutes listening to your partner. Repeat the whole process again.

Another variation can be three dials on, three dials coaching.

The rules are: No getting up. No bathroom, no water, no answering cell phones. Nothing. It’s so important to play by the rules. We all know the feeling of searching for any excuse not to dial the phone. Believe me, this is fear-facing at its best.

3) Duplicate the Process

Use Monday — it’s the start of the week and the best day to invite to your weekly business briefing without a weekend interfering. Organize three sessions per day.

Sometimes, you can host just one session per day with a group and another session with just one other person. Charge $5.00 per person to cover the cost of the phone calls.

The group takes the first five to 10 minutes to review which event (business or product)they are going to invite prospects to, or what information they want to send out after each call. Then you break into pairs that rotate every hour, so everyone has the chance to make calls with different people.

Keep Accurate MLM Calling Records.

Keep a Daily Marketing Worksheet of dials, contacts and appointments similar to this:

Activity Goal Actual Results
Dials 10 1111111111 10
Contacts 5 111111 6
Appointments 3 1111 4

It’s very important for everyone to keep statistics while doing team calling. This is the basis for coaching and measuring progress. If anyone complains about their results, you can go straight to the Daily Marketing Worksheet and tell exactly where someone needs help. Maybe they need help with their actual phone skills, or maybe they’re just not dialing enough numbers!

What Results Can You Expect?

After two one-hour sessions in which everyone kept their statistics, the least number of confirmed appointments we’ve seen was eight. The most was 64.

That’s right! But the most impressive are those eight. What this represents is the minimum result of eight confirmed guests!

What this means for you is that if someone spent two hours per week inviting through team calling, they would have a minimum of eight confirmed appointments at the weekly meeting!

The next time you or your distributors come to a business meeting without a guest, ask yourself and them, “How much actual time did you spend making calls?”

The bottom of the bottom line is that most people don’t make enough phone calls. Making phone calls isn’t as hazardous as bomb squad work, but it really can be just as scary.

Team calling provides structure, excitement and results! Partnering and coaching is the best way I’ve seen to lead your organization and help them overcome fear of the phone and produce explosive results.

Hint: In the process of developing strategies like Team Calling for the benefit of my team members, I also developed other resources to complement the development and enhancement of each member of my team. These tools made a huge difference in their ability to succeed. The proper resources, combined with good coaching and training yields better network marketers who share your same vision and desire to succeed.

MLM Network Marketing Training-Breakthrough Thinking: Success Secrets for High Achievers from a Three-Time Olympian

MLM Network Marketing Training-
Breakthrough Thinking:
Success Secrets for High Achievers from a Three-Time Olympian

by Ruben Gonzalez

What would your life be like if failure was not an option?

Would you like to perform at your peak more often? What would you do if you knew you could not fail?

In the next few minutes you will learn how I programmed my mind to make my Olympic Dream come true – three times! I will share some techniques with you that can change your life. So here we go…

Four years after making a decision to begin training for the Olympics, I had the honor of competing in the 1988 Calgary Winter Olympics in the luge. I went on to compete in the 1992 Albertville Olympics and I just competed in the 2002 Salt Lake City Olympics at the age of 39.

How does someone who didn’t even take up the sport of luge until he was 22 years-old become a three time Olympian? As I tell thousands of people in my speeches, I’m not a big shot, I’m just a little shot that keeps on shooting.

I am proof that ordinary people can accomplish extraordinary things if they just put the right things into their minds.

Olympic Athletes consistently use specialized techniques to program their minds to achieve peak performance. The following simple techniques, performed consistently over a period of time, will change your outlook in life…and ultimately, your outcome.

Acquire the Mindset of MLM Winners

If you adopt these beliefs, you will win much more often.

1 – Failure Does Not Exist

Just because I crashed the last five times on the luge track doesn’t mean I’ll crash the next time. Every time I come down that track I am a better racer because I have more experience than the time before.

When Thomas Edison was trying to find the right filament to make the light bulb work, a reporter asked him how it felt to have failed thousands of times. Edison said that he didn’t fail…he just discovered thousands of materials that didn’t work.

There is no such thing as failure. You either get the desired outcome, or you learn. No matter what the result, you win. The past does not equal the future.

By thinking this way, you don’t allow discouragement to get a foothold in your mind.

2 – If It Is To Be…It Is Up To Me!

Every single one of the people in the biography’s I’ve read, overcame some major challenge. Struggling through those challenges is what made them great. A piece of coal has to experience a huge amount of heat and pressure in order to become a diamond. We are no different. Every time we face a challenge, we have a choice to make. Will we get bitter or better? Decide to get better, face the challenge because it’s there to make you stronger. You’ll need that strength further up the road when you’ll be facing even bigger challenges.

Don’t ever make excuses. Whenever you make an excuse you are giving up control. When you rationalize, you are actually telling yourself “rational lies”.

Believe that you are in charge of your life, you are totally responsible and you create your own results. You are in control of your life and you have the power to change your circumstances.

3- Get Out of Your Comfort Zone!

When I decided to learn the luge, I told everyone I was aiming for the Olympics. I wanted to put myself in a position where it would be very difficult to quit.

When I first went to Lake Placid, I honestly didn’t know what I was getting into. I just took a leap of faith and believed the net would appear. I’ve taken a couple of thousand luge runs in my career and I’ve faced fear before every run. What kept me going? The Olympic Dream. The desire to become an Olympian gave me the courage to face my fears.

Commit to stretching. Put yourself on the line. Commit to do things beyond your current abilities. That’s how you grow and that’s how you get better and stronger.

4 – Just do it!

When the luge team went to a new track we would walk the track with the coach. We would make a game plan about the best way to drive the track. I then visualized and mentally rehearsed taking the run many times, until finally I had to hop on the sled and go down the mountain. The first few runs are always pretty brutal, but as we learn the track, our times improve dramatically.

Scary? Very. But it’s the price I paid to get to the Olympics.

Commit to act – even if you don’t know everything. You don’t wait till all the lights are green before taking a road trip. If you wait until you know everything before acting, you’ll never do anything. Take a chance. Act on faith.

5 – Be True to Yourself

Always act from Personal Integrity. Be true to yourself. If it doesn’t feel right in your gut, don’t do it. Don’t ever go against your personal values. No victory is worth not being able to look at yourself in the mirror.

6 – There is Always a Way if You Don’t Quit!

Robert Schuller says, “Mental toughness is developed through consistency of effort.”

On the road to the Olympics, many athletes much faster than me quit along the way. How do you think they felt when they watched the Olympics on TV? The price of getting your dream is big, but the pain of regret is hundreds of times bigger.

Commitment is the glue that holds everything together. Commitment is the most powerful tool you have as a human being. Commit to practice until you are good. Even if you fear what it takes to get to your goal (as I feared the luge), do it anyways. Commitment will pull you through.

Commit to do whatever it takes (as long as it is moral, legal and ethical) to succeed.

The difference between people is there are those who are interested and there are those who are committed. The key to success in life is going from being interested to being committed. Once you are committed you will produce results. At the point of commitment, you mentally “burn all the bridges” and you do whatever it takes to make it happen. THAT’S when you become unstoppable!

Chase your dream, go for the gold, and never ever quit.

Make it happen! I believe in you.
Ruben Gonzalez

MLM Network Marketing Training- Get More Personal in MLM

MLM Network Marketing Training– Get More Personal in MLM

by Josh Hinds

Most folks who know me know that when people write me I always like to write back and show how much I appreciate the message. I do stay busy, but taking the time to write back is something that’s very important to me.

Well friends, the other day I slipped up! (See, even I can admit my mistakes… lol. After all, that’s how we grow isn’t it?).

You see I received a message from a person that had two parts to it. The first part a very kind note letting me know how much she enjoyed the newsletter, while the second part was asking about purchasing a sponsorship ad in the newsletter.

The MLM Hurry It UP!

I must have been in a bit of a hurry at the time so I only wrote back regarding the sponsorship part of the note (I am not making an excuse for myself here. Lack of time is simply no excuse when building relationships… professional, personal or otherwise.

(That’s a rule you’ll want to take to heart, I assure you).

When I first replied, I didn’t even realize that I had been so hasty about it. Then luckily (I’ll explain why it was lucky in a second) the person wrote back to tell me that I had not taken the time to give thanks and that I had only mentioned the sponsorship part in my reply to her.

She went on to tell me that she understood, but did offer the great advice that I should be a bit more personal.

You see, while that is exactly how I am virtually all the time, it didn’t matter because in this particular circumstance it was my first correspondence with her, and she had no basis for judging me except by this first impression.

She had absolutely no way of knowing that I do try to be personal. That was my job, and yours, to portray yourself with the actions you show others. I love the saying, “Your actions speak so loud I can barely hear the words you say.” Wow!

How fitting is that to the situation I found myself in?

The Network Marketing View.

Looking back, I am so thankful that she took the time to remind me. Had she not I might have slipped up again! (Heck, I’m only human right? 🙂 You see, folks, in our busy, hectic, day-to-day schedules we all get in a bit of a hurry.

Maybe you’re selling a product (You are at least selling yourself) and without even realizing it, you walk into a person’s office or house and jump right into your Network Marketing sales spiel.

If you do this I am certain that you’re missing the boat! People want to know us prior to doing business with us (or extending a friendship to us as the case may be).

When we first fill this basic human need, we are in a much better place with regard to being able to give them what they need.

Believe me, it is a position that is worth putting forth the effort to be in… for MLM Success and Network marketing mastery.

Your friend in success,

Josh Hinds

Home Based Business Training-Top Ten Tips for Terminating MLM Telephone Terror

by Wendy Weiss

What can strike terror into the heart of even the most successful sales professional or MLM entrepreneur? What can crush self confidence, destroy self esteem and leave even the most seasoned prospector quivering with humiliation and defeat?

The Terror of Cold Calling. But fear not! Here are:

Top Ten Tips for Terminating MLM Telephone Terror!

1. Make telephone calls

Few things are more terrifying than the unknown. The fear you create for yourself is far worse than the reality of cold calling. Once you start making telephone calls and continue making calls, it gets easier. You will overcome your fear by doing.

2. Make a lot of telephone calls

If you have only one prospect to pursue, that prospect becomes overwhelmingly important. If you have hundreds of leads, no one prospect can make or break you. The more calls you make, the more success you will have.

3. Prepare

Prepare for cold calling the way you would for any major presentation. Know what you want to say, how you want to say it and how you want to represent yourself, your company, your product or service. And, most importantly, know the goal of your telephone call.

4. Practice

If you are new to MLM cold calling or uncomfortable with cold calling, practice your pitch out loud. Role-play with friends or colleagues. Practice various sales scenarios. This way you will not have to worry about what you are going to say, you will be prepared and you can focus in on your Network Marketing prospect.

5. Start with less important leads

It will be good practice and less stressful. Once you feel more comfortable, start working on the more important leads.

MLM means CALM DOWN! 6. Stay CalmYou will, for the most part, be talking to people who will appreciate your call. If a prospect is rude, remember: don’t take it personally. They may just be having a bad day. Move on.

7. Realize your priorities and your prospect’s priorities are different

You want an immediate “yes”…your prospect on the other hand may want to finish a report, finish a conversation, start their vacation….etc. Be very careful not to read negative or extra meaning into early conversations with your prospect or your prospect’s secretary.

If, for example, your MLM prospect’s secretary says that your prospect is “on the phone,” “in a meeting,” or “out of the office,” that does not translate to, “My prospect knows that I am calling and is avoiding me.”
Wendy Weiss, The Queen of Cold Calling, is a sales trainer, sales coach and author specializing in cold calling and new business development. You can learn more about Wendy by going to her website at wendyweiss.com and be sure to sign up for her newsletter for more tips on cold calling.

8. Accept that some things are out of your control

If a prospect says “no,” ultimately, that is out of your control. But what is within your control is continuing to prospect and continuing to make calls. It is also within your control to improve your cold-calling skills, attend seminars, read books or hire a trainer — fewer prospects will say “no.”

9. Play Arlene’s game

The object of Arlene’s game is to focus on rejection. The goal is to reach 100 points. You get 1 point for every rejection. Give yourself 1 point for every “no” answer. If your prospect says “yes,” that’s a bonus! Focus on acquiring points. The more calls you make, the more points you acquire. When you reach 100-You Win! Give yourself a prize!

10. Have fun!

This is not life or death — it’s only a Network marketing cold call. The fate of the world does not rest on you and your telephone. You will not destroy your company or ruin your life if a prospect says “no.” Loosen up, be creative, have some fun!

MLM Success Training / MLM Leadership Training / MLM Recruiting

Home Business Training -MLM Recruiter? MLM Sponsor? MLM Baby Sitter? MLM Mentor?…..

home business baby sitter
home based business baby sitter

Home business training

is a MUST.

That is Priority One.(CLUE!!!!)
You must get them trained… a recruiter rarely takes the time for that because recruiters are focused on recruiting, not growing… signing them up, not growing them up… a Leader always grows people…

INFERNO Secret:

Growing people produces the biggest harvest in this MLM business…. (CLUE!!!!!!)

Be a great sponsor and take your new distributors where they want to go, but remember to also take them to the level of success you want them to lead them to…

3) The MLM Baby Sitter
Ahhh…… this is the sponsor who does everything for their downline, and completely disables their distributors and cripples their growth…

You want to do it all… you don’t think anyone can do it as good as you, and so, you do it all… and what happens

INFERNO Secret:
Baby Sitting creates a downline of babies… they never grow into their greatness in this business… they crawl through this business… and eventually out of it…

You as a Leader must become a great sponsor… but understand there is a HUGE difference between Sponsoring someone…. and Spoon Feeding them….

Create a GROWTH environment… not a Kindergarten….

As you mature your people in this business… so matures your business ultimately…

4) The MLM Mentor
This is the Pinnacle of the Role you play in the development of your Leaders… but here is a tip…

 INFERNO Secret:

Mentor those who DESERVE it… not those who DESIRE it….

Your ultimate goal as a sponsor is to create a non-stop success machine. The only way you can do that is to choose 4-5 people in your group to mentor for greatness…

Choose people who have really stepped up to the bat and proven they are SERIOUS about their building this business… make sure they have shown you that they are worthy of you taking them under your wing and paying very special attention to them…
Take them under your wing for a year and solidify and grow them into their greatness… not by totally building it for them, as there are some things they must learn from experience, but totally supporting them in all phases of their business and growth through training, building, supporting, and BEING THERE for them... and creating an extraordinary relationship that will last a lifetime…

Mentoring is not for the weak-hearted…..

it takes effort, discipline, a lot of caring…. and also a ton of giving on your part…
You will have trying times, just like in any relationship… but you must understand that if you mentor a select few folks, they can create an enormous business with you, and will be maximized in this industry… and will stay with you during the tough times… (and there will be some…)

   The Recruiter grows “In-discouragement”…

   The Sponsor grows Independence…

   The Baby Sitter grows Dependence…

   The Mentor grows Interdependence…

INFERNO Secret:
The Power of MLM lies in Interdependence…..

And, it is true….

Home business reality:

There are many Leadership factors involved in building a downline, but none are more frustrating than the roles a Leader can play when recruiting and engaging a new person in this business…

We have a tendency to go from one extreme to the other… ignoring the new person to practically living with them… and everything in between…

There are 4 basic “leading” roles that you establish with your new person. As a Leader, you may move through all of these roles with each person you bring into your MLM organization.

   1) The Recruiter…
   2) The Sponsor…
   3) The Baby Sitter…
   4) The Mentor…

1) The MLM Recruiter
So what exactly IS the difference between a recruiter and a sponsor?

INFERNO Secret:

I have always taught that recruiting is getting them in and sponsoring is keeping them in. One is a defined process for getting them signed up; the other is growing their greatness in this business…

I never really got into a hairsplitting term… call it what you want… but understand…

Network Marketing Recruiting is the Process of getting to the point of being their sponsor and a lot people who recruit folks in this business forget the sponsor part….

MLM Recruiting
can be simply running the numbers, but that is how the average distributor does it…. A Leader recruits to become a great sponsor and to build a long term relationship… recruiting is the first phase of the Leader Role,….

2) The MLM Sponsor… is the second.
When you have recruited them into your business, now you are their sponsor…

INFERNO Secret:

There is a reason why the word sponsor and responsibility have the same root word… it is your responsibility to become the Leader they need to create an environment for greatness…. and for creating independence in your people.

ALL great Leaders in this industry have mentored a select few special people in their downline to extreme success… in MLM and Network Marketing for a successful Home Based Business.
