MLM Network Marketing Training How To Make an MLM Sales Presentation Without Resistance.

MLM Network Marketing Training How To Make an MLM Sales Presentation Without Resistance.

How well do you tell your sales story with power, believability and behavior? How effective are you at virtually guaranteeing that your prospect will become a customer? Learn how in this week’s article by sales trainer Bill Brooks.

The Two MLM Presentation Secrets.

To present your product or service in a compelling and believable way, follow these two simple principles, no matter what you are selling. Here they are:

People buy anything they will buy for their reasons, not yours (or mine)

Prospects expect salespeople to exaggerate the value of their product or service (you or me, included!)

Once you understand and accept these two realities what can you do about them? The first principle can be dealt with very easily and systematically by remembering two things:

The more you are in front of qualified prospects, the better off you’ll be… and the secret is to ask the right questions of the right people (qualified prospects) related to what they’ll buy, when they’ll buy, how they’d like to buy, under what conditions they’ll buy – and then ensure your product or service meets those exact standards.

The Second MLM Sales Principle.

The second principle, though, creates a little larger obstacle. Most salespeople are accustomed to “telling and selling” instead of “involving and asking.” It is true that people learn a lot more from what they experience and actually do than from what they simply hear, isn’t it? The same is true about your product or service presentation. In fact, I prefer to use the term “application” rather than “demonstration” or “presentation.” The former means a mutual discovery or learning experience as your product or service is unfolded to your prospect while the latter terms refer to a standard, sterile and boring monologue related to your product or service’s features or, perhaps, even irrelevant benefits.

It has often been said that features “tell” and benefits “sell.” Unfortunately, it is far deeper than that! You need to determine which benefits actually do sell! You also need to discover the role that active participation, involvement and education play in the effective presentation of your product or service.

Always remember that people are far more likely to believe what they experience, do, feel, touch, smell, think or immerse themselves in than from what they simply hear from you!

What does this mean to you as a sales professional? Simply this – never underestimate the importance of allowing your prospect to learn all they can about your MLM product or service. Your job? To serve as the tour guide, interpreter or facilitator. To allow them to reach their own conclusions, draw their own comparisons and discover precisely how your product will address their concerns, enhance their profits, solve a problem or meet a need.

Six Actions Today for MLM Sales Success.

Let me give you six very specific things you can do today.

1.) You need to know how to prepare your “lesson plan” (your presentation) by addressing only the specific issues your customer has.

2.) Your product or service must be seen strictly from the perspective of your prospect or customer – not you, your marketing department, R&D staff or anyone else within your organization.

3.) Keep your presentation simple yet elegant. Don’t confuse your prospect!

4.) Make your application interactive. Show and tell, ask and explain – educate and involve. Ask feedback questions to ensure your prospect or customer understands and emotionally accepts your solution. Questions like, “What do you think?” “How does it fee,” “Do you understand?” Do you have any questions?” or “Would you like to try this yourself?” are all essential to ask.

5.) Don’t talk too much, non-stop or in jargon your prospect or customer will not understand. Always remember that people don’t want to be sold. Instead, they really do want to buy.

6.) Ask the right questions (What do you want to buy? When do you want to buy it? How will you buy? What do you need?) and then present only the right solutions – and allow them to experience your product or service. Then, they will buy! And you won’t have to sell them anything.

MLM Network Marketing Training -Asking The Right Questions in Sales in MLM Network Marketing

MLM Network Marketing Training -Asking The Right Questions in Sales in MLM Network Marketing

Successful sales professionals know that asking effective questions guides their customer to a purchase.  Find out how to ask the right questions in this week’s article by sales consultant Julie Thomas.

The Power is in the Question in MLM.

Let’s face it! Good questions direct our customer’s thinking.  When you use a good question, or a series of good questions, you penetrate your prospect’s mind and direct his/her thinking.  You can actually get them to think about things that they might not have yet considered.  Yet how many of us have failed to prepare the right questions before going into a selling situation.  Repeatedly, we are never adequately prepared with good sales questions…the kind of questions that direct a customer’s thinking.

The result of not being equipped with questions is missed opportunities, lost sales, wasted time and a discouraged and frustrated sales team.  To be really successful, we must master the use of good sales questions!

For the purposes of this tip, we will categorize questions in two ways: information and impact.

The INFORMATION Zone in MLM.

Information gathering questions help you open up your client to share about their business and what’s important to them.  These questions can be open-ended, probing, and confirming.  At first you ask open-ended questions to start your MLM client talking, then you ask for more details, and then you confirm back what you heard them say.  Information questions are critical to not only understand your customer’s situation and perspective, but also important for understanding the context.

ANXIETY

Raising anxiety in our prospects can be a tremendous tool to uncover need and create urgency.  One application is that anxiety can be raised anytime a prospect will not engage with you, whether it’s during your prospecting attempts, trying to get a return phone call, or, most importantly, closing the opportunity.

The idea is to get the prospect to consider the impact to them if they don’t take action.  In the two seconds it takes a prospect to consider your anxiety question, they make a journey that brings them to a place where they can recognize their own personal motivation for taking action.  Anxiety questions are used to open a conversation that compels the prospect to consider that which has not yet been

The idea is to get the prospect to consider the impact to them if they don’t take action.  In the two seconds it takes a prospect to consider your anxiety question, they make a journey that brings them to a place where they can recognize their own personal motivation for taking action.  Anxiety questions are used to open a conversation that compels the prospect to consider that which has not yet been.

Compelling Anxiety Network Marketing Questions.

Compelling anxiety question is created using what you know that prospect cares about personally.  Here are some examples:

  • What’s the cost of not taking action now?
  • What happens if you don’t start reducing costs this year?
  • What’s the impact to you if the cost management initiative is delayed?
  • Are you confident that you will be able to support management’s 35% annual growth plan without impacting costs?
  • Other clients that we are working with are experiencing time to market issues due to high turnover, could that be happening here?

Put yourself in your prospect’s shoes.  If someone asks you one of these questions, what thoughts run through your mind? Maybe part of their MLM compensation plan or management objective is tied to this initiative or they have a presentation to make on this subject at the next executive staff meeting or they realize how much effort they’ve put into the initiative so far and don’t want to lose it now.  Ideally, they review all of the potential impacts in that two-second time period.

The goal is to have them momentarily experience the consequences of not resolving the issues or solving the problems you are alluding to.  Inevitably, some nagging concern will rise to the surface and cause them to reconsider the delay.

Remember, the right questions at the right time help you make an MLM connection with the client.  The goal is to understand your client’s business issues and create and connect to their reason to change.

MLM Network Marketing Training Get The MLM Fundamentals Right – Business Success Will Follow.

MLM Network Marketing Training Get The MLM Fundamentals Right – Business Success Will Follow.

by Kevin Sinclair

To succeed in business on the Internet, or in the off-line world, requires an understanding of the fundamentals of business and using them to your advantage. In this article, I will outline what I consider the fundamentals of business success are.

Believe in Your MLM Product or Service

First, you need to believe in your Network Marketing product or service. If you don’t believe in it, you will have a great deal of difficulty selling your product or service to other people. You also need to have confidence in your ability to provide and promote your product or service. An old saying sums this up best by stating: “All things are possible to he who believes”.

Aptitude for the Business

Secondly, you need to have an aptitude for the business. You will also need the motivation to acquire at the very least basic skills and experience before you start your business. If you were to set yourself up as a web designer but did not have any skills or training in this area, then you will almost certainly fail. However, if you are employed as a bookkeeper and you enjoy the job, then setting up your own bookkeeping service would be a sensible choice with a greater chance of success.

Be Responsible

Thirdly, you need to be responsible to your MLM customers. This is achieved by only making commitments you can keep and by not engaging in misleading or dishonest advertising. If you want to build long-term success in your business, then you need to develop long-term satisfied customers. When their needs are being satisfied, customers are at their happiest.

Aim for High Quality

The next principle is that you need to have a high quality product or service. This will be your best advertisement. Inferior quality products usually generate poor customer satisfaction. A dissatisfied customer can be very dangerous for your business. Usually they tell on average about fourteen other people who will then be disinclined to buy your product or service based on the experience of that one dissatisfied person. Therefore, always aim for a top quality product or service.

Make a Profit in MLM.

However, it is not enough to have a top quality product or service. You also need to have a product or service that will generate enough income to cover all your business expenses and give you a satisfactory wage. A friend of mine once said that business is only about two things: satisfying customers and making a profit. A simple statement but very true.

Sufficient Start-up Capital

You also need to have access to enough cash to set up and run your business, and enough income to meet your private expenses during the start-up phase. A major problem with many home and small businesses is that they fail to have enough money available to ensure their success. There is nothing more discouraging than having a great idea, getting it started on a shoestring, not being able to expand due to cash shortages and seeing a competitor come along and steal your market.

Start Small

Another fundamental principle of home business success is that you start small. This will enable you to minimize your overheads until you are confident of your success in the marketplace. For many of you, this would mean starting part-time while retaining your full-time income source. When you can, expand your business into a full-time venture. This is a great way of minimizing the risk of failure.

Be Well Organized in Network Marketing.

Successful businesses are well organized. They have a system for keeping track of expenditure and earnings. This level of organization in your business will help to ensure that you are providing your customers or clients with a top quality product or service. It will also ensure that you have enough information available to maximize your profitability and to satisfy your legal requirements for record keeping.

Be Prepared

Preparation is another key ingredient in your business success. This preparation will include being aware of the regulations and laws affecting small and home business. Armed with this knowledge, you should not have any nasty surprises from unintentional violations of the law.

Have a Business Plan

Finally, successful businesses have developed a comprehensive business plan. This is their road map to success. It tells them where they are going and how they are going to get there. There are a number of good resources about business planning on the Internet. Here are some:
http://www.bplans.com
http://www.businesstown.com/planning/creating.asp
http://www.bizplanit.com/vplan.htm

Conclusion

It has been said that genius is one percent inspiration and ninety-nine percent perspiration. The same can be said about business success. Without having the fundamentals in place, a great business idea will usually fail. Set yourself up for success by considering each of the points raised in this article.

MLM Network Marketing Training MLM Party Plan Success Training

MLM Network Marketing Training MLM Party Plan Success Training

Coaching the MLM Party Plan Host

Plan to spend some time with your Host soon after setting up a show date in order to review their guest list. Explain that the goal is between 10 and 20 guests. Give your Host an Open House Host Guide (Most Party Plans have these or make your own) and let them know how easy it can be to find guests among co-workers, friends, neighbors, relatives and many other places.

Help with the guest list and urge the Host to ask each guest to bring at least one friend.

The Guest List for MLM Party.

1. A couple days before the party, have your Host send confirming invitations and be sure to enter the names of definite guests in the spaces provided.

2. Describe the Free Gift system to your Host by showing pictures of the gifts they can qualify for.

3. Review the order form, so your Host can help guests place orders.

4. Explain how deliveries are made.

5. Discuss plans for refreshments.

6. Remind the host that it’s important to be upbeat and enthusiastic with the guests.

Arranging the Furniture

There are a few basic requirements that your Host needs to take into consideration:

1. Enough seating facing a central point in the room.
2. A table large enough to hold your display samples.
3. Good lighting.

Preparing Your Samples

Samples are perhaps best sales tools you’ve got. Be sure you have a large selection on hand to display. Also:

1. Have a sufficient supply of catalogs on hand.
2. Make sure each sample item is in excellent shape and is sparkling clean.

Before the Guests Arrive

Arrive at the Host’s home an hour or so before the party and provide a last-minute briefing. Divide the necessary chores between the two of you and make a final review of the guest list. During this review, get your Host’s opinion as to which guests might be the strongest prospects for future party bookings.

Greeting the Guests

As the guests arrive, have the Host introduce you and greet them warmly and cordially. Chat with them a minute while filling out a nametag to make them feel at home.

The MLM Home Party Presentation

Begin your presentation simply and make the guests comfortable by welcoming them and chatting a bit.

1. This is a perfect time to present free gifts to each guest as a thank you for coming. This will help focus their attention on the items you have brought.

2. Present your first item by using descriptions you’ve worked on before the party. Notes and note cards are fine to use.

“Touch and Try” With Personal Attention

After the last item has been presented and while questions are being asked of the representative, the Host should prepare the refreshments. While the guests are browsing:

1. Ask basic questions about families and homes. Suggest items that would fit their lifestyle or decor.

2. Suggest that a guest can “earn” a gift she particularly wants for “free” by hosting a party.

3. Never high-pressure a guest into having a show.

4. If you don’t have the answer to a guest’s question, simply note the guest’s name and phone number and call them at home with the answer. This gives you more time to talk to the guest and does not take valuable time away from other guests during the party.

Finishing Up Guest Orders

It should take about 10 minutes for all the guests’ Order Forms to be completed. As soon as you have gathered all the orders and remittances, it’s time to award the Host her free gift if your program is set up for it. In some cases you won’t actually have the gift with you since some companies suppliythe incentives gift free of charge based on party performance. However, you can still make it a point to present her with a certificate.

Note: Make sure you do this before the gusts leave. It’s a strong incentive to host a party.

Getting Paid: Be prepared to accept cash payments (have some change on hand) along with checks. Many guests will probably want to write a check, so be sure they make the check out to you or your company’s name, whichever you prefer. Since most guests are well known to the party host, you don’t need to worry too much about “bouncing” checks. If a problem comes up, it will be easy enough to contact that guest and let them know their check didn’t clear.

Policy Tip: You might want to hold off on ordering merchandise until each check has cleared. Of course, if you have a merchant account you can accept credit card payments as well.

How To End The MLM Party Plan Show

After all the orders have been taken and you’ve signed up some future hosts, run through this checklist:

1. Each guest should have a copy of his or her completed order form.

2. Give all future hosts their Open House Host Guides.

3. Get names and addresses of guests who had solid reasons for not booking shows immediately. They are still good future prospects, and excellent names for your mailing list.

4. Be sure all display samples are back in boxes and all packed up.

Good Practice: Make it a point to visit or call the Host the following day to express your appreciation for their hospitality.

MLM Network Marketing Training What REALLY is the Secret to MLM Success?

MLM Network Marketing Training What REALLY is the Secret to MLM Success?
Doug Firebaugh

After 22 years in this industry, 14 years fulltime in MLM, and 7 years training…you learn some things. Sometimes they are NOT what you want to learn, but yet, you must learn. The road has been an interesting one, and a blessing in disguise. There have been so many people that I have watched come and go in Network Marketing, and many disillusioned. You may know some as well.

Success is something that we all seek, and want for our lives.

Success in Finances.

Success in Health.

Success in Spiritual Values- (I HOPE you want that!)

Success in Career.

Success in all you engage.

Success in Relationships…

The list goes on and on. But so many in MLM never find their pot of gold. They end up finding a pot of sludge. That is typical today in MLM, because they have broken a very important Law in Network Marketing. This Law is one that MUST be adhered to, and if you don’t you will fail in your home business.

Ok…what is that Law?

The Law of Connection.

That is it. Simple but Powerful. ALL millionaires in MLM have had something that the others have not. ALL millionaires in MLM have done something that most don’t do.

Many people say they have “their heart” in the business. That is NOT good enough.

Many people have said “I come from the heart.” That is NOT good enough.

Many people have said that they “put their heart” in everything they do in MLM.” That isn’t even close to enough.

Here is the Secret….

Your Heart MUST be CONNECTED to the Industry, Company, and Products, in a way that you are NOT just in the business. You MUST be walking in a ‘Heart Destiny” and nothing will, or can stop you. No exceptions.

The most powerful computer in the world cannot run, if not CONNECTED to the Power that brings it Voltage to turn it on for the tasks it does.

The most spacious house in the world cannot be what it is supposed to be without the Voltage that it needs to stay warm and comforatble in the winter, and cool in summer. Let alone what the TV requires or personal computer.

It requires CONNECTION to the “the juice.” That is why you MUST have the right heart connection. It contains the JUICE and Voltage you need to Succeed.

The moment that MLM is not longer just something that ‘you do”, but becomes a part of who you are, everything changes.

I call it “The Shift.”

You whole world shifts into a Power and Focus that can only be a product of the heart. Many people have said that this business is about mindset.

I disagree.

It is about Heart Set. We say that you must have the right “Heart Condition.”

Is your Heart REALLY connected to the Success Potentail in MLM? Is it REALLY connected to the vision of your company? Is it REALLY connected to your products and services?

Those that CONNECT are connecting to the True Power of Success, and everything shifts after that.

People will start responding to you in a more positive manner.

People will stop being so negative with you, due to the New Presence you have in MLM.

People will pay closer attention to your words, as they sense the importance of what you are saying.

People will be magnetized to listen more intently..Yes there is a major Shift in everything with a powerful Heart Connection…It ALL shifts…

Including your paycheck.

The stronger and deeper the connection is….the more zeroes are in your paycheck!

CONNECTION- Most never will. But those that do….

Get Rich.

All wealth is a by product of a Strong Heart Connection to something, no matter what is it. You are driven to Succeed. You do what you normally would not be willing to do. You go at a pace that you never have before.

And you find a Passion you never knew existed.

The CONNECTION unleashes that Passion in all you do, and no longer are you willing to settle for mediocrity and average. No longer are you willing to settle….period.

Now you know The Secret.

Do you have the right Heart Condition and Connection to MLM ?

If you do….

Success is at your daily beckoning.

MLM Network Marketing Training Retail To Recruit for MLM Success –

MLM Network Marketing Training Retail To Recruit for MLM Success –

MLM Network Marketing Training- Reatil to Recruit in Network Marketing

Hey Guys! HOT Article!!! DF

The MLM Challenge.

We’re all aware of how difficult it is to find business builders.

To me a business builder is one who wants to start their own business and not do it as a hobby. They want to have all the advantages of having their own business.

This can be tough…Even with the best recruiting techniques.

For me one of the better ways to find business builders is to Retail to Recruit.

Personally I think your MLM business should be made up of 75% retail customers and 25% business builders.

Why?

Having more retail customers ordering from you week after week, month after month, year after year creates that residual income we all want. Plus you now have an army of customers that are spreading the word about your products. People will talk more freely about products that are doing well for them, then they will about a business opportunity.

In one case people feel they are sharing, in the other they feel like they are selling (guess which one?).

When people talk about products they’re sharing an experience, when they’re talking about a business opportunity they feel like they’re selling. It’ a shame really you should feel the same way about both.

Anyway in my company we make great money with retail sales and business builders. But It’s easier to find retail customers than business builders, plus your income is generated faster. (of course that depends on your pay plan, for example I get paid every week with ours).

The Network Marketing Paradox.

Let me ask you a question.

Do you think it’s easier to introduce the idea to someone who is in love with your product/service they can have their own business or to someone who has never tried your product or service?

Kinda of a dumb question, because I know you know the answer.

Once someone has been using you product for about 30 days or so. And before I go on I trust you have been in contact with your MLM customer to see how he/she likes using your product. More importantly have they used your product at all.

You would be surprised at how many people will buy a product and not use it.

If you do come across someone who has not used your product don’t say “WHY NOT”.

Tell a story.

For example, lets say you sell product XYZ and you called a customer and they have not use it yet.

Me.. “Hi Bob, this is Duffy how do you like XYZ?”

Bob.. “Oh I have not tried it yet it’s still in the box, no time to busy”

Me.. “I can relate to that Bob. When I first started taking XYZ I started noticing a difference after only 3 days, I could fall asleep faster and I woke up more refreshed and with more energy and I am getting the same feedback from my other customers as well. I’ll give you a call in few days and see how you’re doing. Talk to you then, have a great night.”

I did not challenge him, I accepted his excuse and I went on to tell him a story of how XYZ has helped me. Do you think he is going to leave your product in the box for one more day…I doubt it.

But even if he does, just keep telling stories of the things XYZ is doing for you and others.

However, if your customer has not tried your product after 2 or 3 phone calls (5 or 7 days). Personally I would offer them a refund. With that the customer will either say no and try your product, or they will accept your offer. If so, great, either way it’s a win-win.

The MLM Reorder.

Ok, it’s been 30 days or so since your customer has been using your product and they love it, what now?

The next time you talk to a customer you can say something like this:

According to my records, it’s time for you to reorder. How would you like to save up to $10 off your next purchase? For every name you give me of someone I can send a brochure to, I’ll give you $1 off up to $10. Is that fair?

Or

If they are internet customers you would be offering them a $10 rebate after they place their next order. The above is for local customers that you are personally delivering your product to.

This is a great way to get warm leads.

Then you take a flyer or brochure and put a yellow sticky note on it and say Hi “Sally” Mary Jones has been taking this product and feels great and thought you might be interested. Your name, your address your phone number.

Then, after you mail the info to the referrals, you call them in a few days. And say:

Hi Sally. This is Your Name, You don’t know me but Mary Jones asked that I send you a brochure. Did you get that brochure? Listen, our product is helping a lot of people around the country–it’s helped Mary.

The product is less than a dollar and a half a day and it’s got 100% money back guarantee. Would you like to try it or do you know anyone who’d like to try it?

The MLM Money Breakdown.

I used what it costs to use my product each day for the above example, replace that with the break down of your products cost per day.

Now it’s been about 2 months after your original customers first purchase. Depending on your products user rate you may have talked to them as little as 2 times, but that’s ok.

Now say something like this:

Hello _______ How are you doing?

Have you experienced any additional positive results with your product?

Listen, I can’t offer you a discount this time. “4” of the people of the “10” names you gave me are on the product and they’re loving the product. They’re going to reorder the product. Would you like to supply them and make the profit or would you rather I supply them?

If they say they would like to earn the profit, show them your presentation.

You’re retailing to recruit in MLM and Network Marketing.

Until next time.

To Your MLM Success

MLM Network Marketing Training MLM Home Business- 35 Steps to Starting One- Part 2

MLM Network Marketing Training MLM Home Business- 35 Steps to Starting One- Part 2

The Network Marketing Home Business.

19. REPEAT STEPS 14 TO 18 FOR OTHER PRODUCTS.

20. FIND HOT BEST SELLING “HOW TO” INFORMATION THAT PAYS OVER 1000% PROFIT THAT YOU COPY LOCALLY FOR PENNIES AND SELL FOR DOLLARS.

A quick way to launch your business is to buy “ready made” QUALITY Network Marketing books and reports that you can use NOW!! Later, add your own creations to your product line. A number of book publishers, mail order dealers and close-out sources often carry overstocked books called remainders at a fraction of the cover price. Check your phone book or contact your local book store for inventory. If you chose to sell used books for which there is a big market, consider yard sales, flea markets, bazaars and schools which are a great source of good used books, Profit margins, for these books are typically less than for your own materials because the publisher had to produce the book, promote it and pay royalties to the author. Margins can run 30 to 1000+% but normally average at about 50-75% range on a book by book basis. Used books, obtained at the sources mentioned can return 1000+% profit.

You can create your own MLM info-products if you have the time and know how to do it. The high profit, approaching 2000%, comes from the low production cost of copying reports, books and booklets for which you have acquired the “rights” from the originator, copyright owner, or “prime source”. Depending on the size ie. number of pages, of the info-product, and the quantity you reproduce, will determine your cost. Usually, your cost is a fraction of the retail price of the material offered to the buyer. For example, a 24 page book on “MAIL ORDER SECRETS” that retails for $25-$35 may cost only $1.20 to produce in small quantities or as little as $0.75 in 2000 lot quantities thereby resulting in enormous profit potential to the dealer. Caution: It is illegal to reproduce copyrighted reports and books without the written permission of the copyright owner. Reprint rights certificates are granted to dealers who have paid for that privilege.

Copyrights provide protection from copying for literary, dramatic, musical and artistic works. They can be obtained for $20. The Patent Office does not handle copyright registration, rather, contact the Library of Commerce. To protect, say, your new information product such as a book, report or article, request FORM TX and Circular 1. “Copyright Basics”: from Register of Copyrights, Library of Congress, Washington, D.C. 20559-6000 or call: (202) 707-9100 [24 hr. Forms Hotline].

21. AVOID WORN OUT, CHEAP, WORTHLESS, POOR QUALITY, MLM SUCCESS REPORTS.

People pay for information contained in a report and do not necessarily care what the report actually looks like PROVIDED the information is what they were looking for and not just a rehash of commonly available information merely repackaged. A one page report containing important data useful to the buyer, such as a financial newsletter that may cost $25 for a single page may be worth 10 times the cover price for the value of the information conveyed to the reader, while a single page report, poorly written or containing useless general information is not worth the cost of the paper it’s written on. So, insist on quality, and with your newly acquired computer skills, you should be able to deliver a quality document with little effort. Give your customers what you want.

MLM In Local Newspapers

22. PLACE A TINY INEXPENSIVE CLASSIFIED AD IN A SMALL LOCAL NEWSPAPER ADVERTISING THE INFORMATION.

Avoid placing expensive display ads without first testing your offer with a small, low cost, classified ad. Ads placed in local papers will run quickly, unlike ads placed in magazines which often have closing dates 1-2 months in advance of your actual ad placement date. In other words, you should know whether your ad pulls orders sooner when placed in small newspapers than in magazines. Consider other faster, inexpensive means of test advertising such as E Mail and the Internet as discussed later, where your ad is placed practically instantaneously in those media with world-wide exposure to potentially millions of prospects. Always test your offer before you invest large sums of money on any MLM advertising campaign. It is wise to vary your offer in price and content depending on where you place your ad. If your product appeals to both sports fans and to investors you should put a higher price on your offer targeted to investors who may more readily recognize the value of your offer than a sports fan. Test, test and test again, then repeat ads that out pull another test ad while eliminating or modifying the lesser pulling ad.

23. FILL ORDERS YOURSELF

Fill orders from a small stock of copies you have on hand or copy as orders are received. Keep a small inventory of books that you acquired from publishers or other sources mentioned and fill orders from stock. Backorder, as needed.

24. REINVEST ALL PROFITS IN OTHER INFORMATION.

After the sale to your customer, you should be prepared to offer additional related information and products to your customer. That’s why you should strive to expand your line with new materials and money-making offers.

25. HIRE DEALERS TO HELP YOU SELL YOUR INFORMATIVE MATERIAL.

It’s a big world out there!!! You can not, alone, reach all of your best prospects, due to time and money contraints. Sure, you can do a lot of the work yourself, at first, but soon you will discover that there are experienced dealers and distributors who know how and where to market YOUR products and information and make you both more money than you could make alone. The small commission paid to your dealers is well worth it.

26. START SLOWLY AND GRADUALLY BUILD YOUR BUSINESS.

For example, don’t buy new office equipment when you can ‘get by’ with some used ones. Go step by step constantly testing the market. Stay with product lines that work and eliminate those that are duds.

27. DON’T BELIEVE TV GET RICH QUICK HYPE.

Building a business takes time, effort and money. Sure, a lucky few did make lots of money fast, but they don’t tell you how much it really cost them and how many other false leads they followed to achieve success. Realistically, at first, shoot for earning a few hundred dollars a week by inexpensively marketing good products and information having nice profit margins. Fill orders from inventory to control business activity.

28. THE KEY TO DIRECT MARKETING SUCCESS IS PROFIT MARGIN.

You need at least 3 or 4 times your cost to make money because advertising, overhead, postage, product costs, and your salary must be included. Avoid low margin products or you’ll go broke fast!! As mentioned, there are products available that allow 400% profit margins and information products with 1000+% profit margins. If you try to obtain these suggested margins then you are on the road to success. If you try to sell a product that costs $2.00 for $2.75 you will certainly fail to make a profit because the operating expenses will consume your slim profit margin.

29. CONTROL YOUR PRODUCT OR INFORMATION

Another important key to success is to control your product or information. You become the supplier letting others help you sell your product. You achieve this control by buying products or directly from supplier aka “prime source” at below wholesale prices or by creating your own materials.

The MLM FREE Publicity Factor.

30. GET FREE PUBLICITY

Get FREE Publicity for your Company by writing press “news” releases to area newspapers. Editors will not print releases that are overly commercial. News items will normally be printed. Instead of writing a press release, call the editor, then briefly state why your home business would be of interest to readers. For example, YOUR business helps people…save time, money etc…and, other readers can learn from your experiences to start their own business too. Tell the editor that you are available to be interviewed for a feature story to be written about you. When you “GET FREE PRESS”, send me your clipping and remind me that I told you so!!! Good Luck!!

31. START SMALL WITH LITTLE MONEY

Always start out small, avoiding big cash outlays. Take one small step at a time but START!! Don’t procrastinate!!

The Directory of Business Development Publications offers publications to help you build and manage your business. FREE counseling for business is offered through several dedicated organizations: the Service Corps of Retired Executives (SCORE); Small Business Institutes (SBI’s); Small Business Development Centers (SBDC’s) and a number of professional associations. Contact: U.S. Small Business Administration Mail Code: 2550, 409 Third Street, S.W., Washington, D.C. 20416 or call: 1-800-827-5722 to request publications or assistance.

32. AVOID PURCHASING MAILING LISTS AT FIRST.

Typical mailing list customer response rate is just 3% (considered to be very good by industry standards). This means that if you mail your offer to 1000 persons you can expect only 30 replies and not all of them contain orders. To mail 1000 pieces of your offer is costly. Postage alone (at current first class rates) is $320, so don’t use direct mail at this time. Later, when you build a customer base, you should mail them additional (back end) offers from time to time and, these customers who already purchased your initial offer are very likely to respond to your other follow-up offers especially if you provided good service and quality products and information they wanted. Expect response rates of 10 to 15% at that time.

33. E MAIL MARKETING IN MLM.

Consider marketing via E Mail by offering FREE reports and valuable information, product sources and tips. Subscribe to E Mail Newsletters such as the one you are reading now and place low cost test ads to get world wide exposure for your offers. Perhaps, after you gain experience, you may want to create your own specialty E Newsletter for your interest such as inventing, woodworking, home repairs, energy sufficiency, etc.

34. INTERNET

Consider Internet advertising, perhaps on your own web page or on a high traffic mall, but remember that you (or the promoter) must publicize your electronic mall usually by print advertising or via E Mail. A low cost classified ad can effectively create “hits” at your web site or “mall”. Your ad may say: ” FREE MONEY MAKING OFFERS TO ALL VISITORS TO…YOUR WEB SITE” or have professionals handle creating, promoting and maintaining your site for you.

35. NETWORKING

Tell everyone you meet what you do and listen to what THEY do. Offer to exchange business cards and refer clients to them. Also, if you see an interesting article that is related to the other person’s business, clip it and mail it to them with a note that says: Thinking of you…here’s an article you may find of interest. This little tip works wonders.

MLM Network Marketing Training Starting an MLM Home Business- 35 Steps- Part 1

MLM Network Marketing Training Starting an MLM Home Business- 35 Steps- Part 1

The MLM Dream of Millions.

Starting a home business is the dream of millions of budding entrepreneurs. Maybe you have also thought of starting a home business but for one reason or another you never got around to it. Now, perhaps you are laid off or ‘down-sized’ and must ‘do something’ to survive. Maybe you are retired or perhaps you need extra money, why not talk and listen to a good cash flow coach? Whatever your motives are for wanting to become more independent financially or mentally, here are some step by step tips on how you can get started in an MLM home business of your own.  Investing in Bitcoin requires nerves of steel, and also keeping an eye on the latest crypto news. Better still, you should have an idea of what is in store for the market. Look at what happened last year. Bitcoin surged in price to an all-time high over the course of a month and then practically halved in value over the course of a week. All because China had banned ICOs and shut down local crypto exchanges. This came at a bad time because U.S. banks had just put an end to buying Bitcoin by credit card. If you are looking for the cryptocurrency news then click here.

1. WHAT IT TAKES TO BE A NETWORK MARKETING ENTREPRENEUR

It has often been stated that an entrepreneur is a risktaker. Although that is true to some extent, my definition of an entrepreneur follows: “Entrepreneurs are not risktakers, rather, they see opportunities and seize them!” You will have to be a self starter and not depend on others. For example, when you worked at your “regular job” your boss ‘fed you work’ and you had to do whatever job you were given even though you hated it. On payday, you got your reward. As an MLM Entrepreneur, you’ll have to find WHAT you want to do, HOW to do it and WHERE to sell your creation or service. You’ll spend more time than you’d ever imagine but you’ll enjoy it better.

2. TAKE INVENTORY OF YOUR PERSONAL SKILLS, BACKGROUND, EXPERIENCE AND INTERESTS.

For instance, if you enjoy woodworking, then try to establish a business involving woodworking. Some thoughts that come to mind are making wooden novelties, birdhouses, whirligigs (wind toys), crafts or even building decks and sheds. Start with your hobbies to find a potential business opportunity that you already enjoy. If you do what you enjoy, the money will come, unless there is no market. So, don’t hock the family jewels to start a buggy whip manufacturing business!!

3. LEARN ABOUT COMPUTERS

Computers are big now and will be the growth area in the future. Learn a word processing program such as Ami Pro, Microsoft Word, or Word Perfect. You don’t need the fastest, most powerful computer to do a decent job and you don’t have to spend a lot of money on a computer or on training either. Used computer stores and mail order suppliers listed in computer magazines have good computers for low cost. Check out your local computer users group or your local adult education programs offered at local high schools and colleges for low cost training. Ask your reference librarian for help or check the “yellow pages “…but do it now!!

4. WHAT IS THE PERFECT MLM BUSINESS FOR YOU?

The ‘perfect’ business in my view is one that you enjoy and is fun rather than work. For example, I always liked to tinker and build all kinds of contraptions from discarded items. I’d never throw away anything away without first dissecting it and salvaging good parts that I could use for other “thing-a-ma-jigs”. I once built a simple metal detector from electronic parts that I “stole” from a broken radio. I used a few resistors, a capacitor, some lamp cord wire [for the search coil] scrap plywood to mount the components and an old broom handle to hold during searching. Oh yes, the receiver was a cheap working transistor radio tuned to the right frequency and attached to the broom handle with [thick] rubber bands I cut from a bicycle inner tube that had a blow out. Despite the “Rube Goldberg contraption”, it did and still does work and I’ve found several coins with it and lots of bottle caps!!

You too have many hidden untapped talents that you can use to start and build your own business at home. Start by making a list of your hobbies and interests for getting ideas. When you do what you love, it is fun and not work!

The Network Marketing Understanding.

5. NEVER START AN MLM BUSINESS THAT YOU DON’T UNDERSTAND.

A friend of mine, an accountant, said that someone asked him to ‘get involved’with designing and setting up web pages on the Internet. This sounded like a great opportunity, and when my friend told me that he knew nothing about web page design I told him to either get knowledge from books or seminars and courses or find a business that he understands and enjoys. Not having the time or interest to pursue web page design, he followed my advice and, several months ago, he set up a financial investment service business which was related to his accounting background. So, to get going fast, start the business that is closely related to your interests. Go with what you know!!

6. OBTAIN A BUSINESS LICENSE FROM YOUR LOCAL CITY OR TOWN HALL.

A business license costs about $10. Request 2 or 3 extra copies of the license with the official city seal on it, your bank will need an official copy for their files. Before a license is issued, the clerk checks the files to see if the business name you picked is available and is not already used by another. A DBA “doing business as” account is one such as: Mary Jones doing business as (DBA) “ABC Company”.

7. OPEN A BUSINESS CHECKING ACCOUNT AT YOUR LOCAL BANK.

Usually, a DBA checking account is FREE. You need the business checking account to cash your customer’s checks made payable to your business. If you do not have a business checking account, then you can’t cash or deposit checks. When opening a business checking account, the bank will ask for your business license and some form of ID such as a driver’s license. Start with a small deposit say, $100 and you’ll soon get your printed checks and you are ready for business.

8. ALWAYS USE BUSINESS STATIONERY

You must have business stationery ie. a printed envelope and letterhead and a business card in order to do business with suppliers. A local print shop such as “Staples”, “Office Max” and others can quickly print a small quantity (500) of each or you can type set your own with your computer and save some money. Don’t get fancy with your printing when you start out. Avoid paying for special logo designs when you can use a stock “:logo cut” at very little extra cost, but a logo alone, does not necessarily sell more of your offers so keep your printed stationery simple.

9. GET A BUSINESS PHONE AND AN ANSWERING MACHINE.

A business phone and a business answering machine with a professional outgoing message means that you are serious. Avoid using your personal answering machine and home phone as your business one too. Often I have reached ‘businesses’ that were answered by children or that had barking dogs in the background. When you answer the phone, say your company name, such as “ABC COMPANY, John Smith speaking..May I help You?” rather than a personal “hello”. Also, with your business phone you get a free one line yellow (& white page) listing for your business. The cost for a business phone is under $20 a month (basic service) with a one time installation charge of about $100. Buy an answering machine with a speaker phone so you can speak while you read or write. I use Phone Mate #8200 ($39.95) with good results.

An example of how having a business phone listing paid off was when a book publisher called directory assistance under our company name to see if we had a business phone before he agreed to work with us!! So, look professional and act professional and you’ll be treated with respect and opportunities will come to you seemingly out of the blue. I believe that the SMARTER (not the HARDER) you work the LUCKIER you get!!

10. CONSIDER MAIL ORDER

Starting a mail order business is another popular ‘easy entry’ way to start a home based business with little investment. The big problem is to find a product or information to sell. Reading and responding to classified and display ads in printed opportunity magazines, on-line business magazines and E Newsletters such as this one is an excellent way to gain entry into the mail order or direct marketing business with little money. Note, too, how and why the particular ad you responded to got your attention. Pattern, but do not copy, your own ads the same way. Example: use the word FREE if possible in your ad to get attention fast or use an attention getting ad such as “MAKE 1998% PROFIT SELLING INFORMATION!!”

The MLM Product Possibilities.

11. WHERE TO FIND PRODUCTS TO SELL.

Trade shows, magazines, newsletters, on-line publications, manufacturers, and importers are good places to look for products to sell.

For trade shows, contact the Chamber of Commerce in your area. Also, contact local convention or trade centers via the Chamber of Commerce in any large city for a calendar of up-coming trade shows which are typically held annually. To attend these shows, you must be “in the trade” since they are not open to the public. Sometimes you may be able to get a free pass and badge from a sponsor. I’ve attended many trade shows in Chicago, New York City and in Boston just by contacting the sponsor and telling them that I am a direct marketer seeking new products.

You can directly contact manufacturers and suppliers requesting their wholesale prices (remember to use your business stationery). The companies can be found in the Thomas Register of American Manufacturers (22 volumes; 1997 cost $240) under 55,000 product & service headings. This valuable resource looks like a big green encyclopedia and is available in any large public or college library.

Contact a local field office of the Department of Commerce for Importing/Exporting information in the blue pages phone book under US Government Listings. Your local library and especially the business library of a College or University is an excellent source of business books, publications and trade magazines where you can get ideas for products that you can sell.

12. HOW TO CREATE YOUR OWN PRODUCTS.

Invent your own MLM products by improving existing products. I taught a creativity seminar and asked the students to find as many uses as possible for a piece of fluorescent property marking tape. In 15 minutes they brainstormed over 167 uses!! Some were: fuel; toilet paper; decoration; a belt;a bikini; a hat, bookmark, fishing lure etc. Try brainstorming on any product that you want to improve. Simply list as many ways that come to mind in say, 20 minutes, of how you can improve the product. The more ideas the better regardless of how seemingly silly or stupid they may seem to be at first. Don’t stop to evaluate any of them now, rather just let your creative juices flow and you will find that you too can invent!!

Avoid responding to late night scam invention marketing companies who promise you the world and fail to deliver anything. Some highly touted companies may be fraudulent. Contact and question the Federal Trade Commission about the reputation of any invention marketing firms that you are considering. You can check out https://www.jpost.com/special-content/get-your-invention-off-the-ground-with-the-support-of-inventhelp-624132. Do this before submitting your ideas and your money to them. Deal with reputable firms. The Patent and Trademark Office provides patent and trademark protection to inventors and businesses. It offers some information on invention marketing companies also that you may want to check out. It grants patents on inventions registers trademarks, publishes patent information and maintains files of U.S. and foreign patents for public use. If you invent a new product ask for information regarding patents and trademarks: Contact: U.S. Department of Commerce, Patent and Trademark Office, Washington, D.C. 20231 or call 703-308-4357.

The MLM Approach for Suppliers.

13. HOW TO APPROACH SUPPLIERS, MANUFACTURERS AND MAIL ORDER DEALERS.

Using your word processing program or typewriter, write a simple, cordial, yet professional letter to the principal of the company such as the President (for small companies only) or Sales Manager. Avoid sending “dear occupant” letters, rather, look up the key executives names and titles in “Standard & Poors Directory of American Corporations” (available in the library) or call the company directly to get the name of the decision maker you need to contact. Use your business stationery to conduct business with suppliers. Sending requests on postcards or with hand written notes on tablet paper will be ignored. Also, if there is a charge for a catalog and you don’t include the payment, don’t expect to receive a reply. Why should a supplier, mail order dealer or business person mail out product literature and samples to “curiosity seekers?”

14. FIND A PRODUCT THAT PAYS OVER 400% PROFIT.

Unless you have a good profit margin (preferably, at least 3 to 4 times your cost) you can not make any serious money reselling products, with few exceptions. You can find high profit products from inventors who may have a garage or basement full of products, packaged and ready to be sold. You can place a “Products Wanted” ad in a newspaper and have suppliers contact you. Also, a good source of new products is foreign trade sources. Your librarian can help you find several importing resources. Also, the US Department of Commerce listed in the blue pages of your phone book can help with import/export issues. The yellow pages of your phone directory has listings of importers in the USA who have already imported the type of products you want. By dealing directly with these “import/export brokers” you can save the hassles of paying duty on imports and of currency exchanges and of waiting for slow delivery. Their relatively small service charges outweigh the potential, costly problems that an amateur importer may experience.

15. PLACE A TINY INEXPENSIVE CLASSIFIED AD IN A SMALL LOCAL NEWSPAPER ADVERTISING THE PRODUCT.

Don’t spend a lot of money on display ads until you know that your product will sell at a profit. Using hard hitting, attention getting words in your ad such as:

AMAZING NEW WIDGET CATCHES FISH LIKE CRAZY!! GAME WARDENS ARE WORRIED!!! FREE DETAILS. Your Name, address.

Test! Test! Test! Try various ads and placement until you find which ones work best, then run the same order pulling ad in other publications.

Key your ads so you will know where the responses are coming from. For example, you can vary the spelling of your company name as a key, or you can use a department number or a suite number. Examples: “My Mail Order Company” can be keyed as “My Mailco”; MMailo” “My Mail Order Comp” etc.

16. FILL ORDERS YOURSELF

Fill orders from a small stock of inventory you have on hand. This allows you to quickly respond to customers with a product you control without depending on drop shippers to fill your order. This also eliminates errors by third party material handlers. Use drop shipping for large, hard to inventory expensive ($100++) products that are sold in low volume. For high volume fast sellers, it is best, we have found, that it is faster to handle and fill all orders in house or locally, from stock on hand. Later, as sales volume increases, you may want to hire a fulfillment company to pick, pack and ship orders directly to your customer while billing you for their services.

17. REINVEST ALL PROFITS IN OTHER PRODUCTS.

Don’t plan your world cruise on the initial success from your first few product sales. It takes time to build a business. Reinvest profits wisely in new products.

18. HIRE DEALERS TO HELP YOU SELL YOUR PRODUCT.

There is only a limited amount of hours in a day. At first, do as much of the work in your business yourself, but know when to ask for and use help such as sales professionals. Sure, you have to pay dealers a commission, but they will reach markets that you can never reach alone.

MLM Network Marketing Training 9 Ways for Your MLM Business to Succeed on the Internet Without a Web Site!

MLM Network Marketing Training 9 Ways for Your MLM Business to Succeed on the Internet Without a Web Site!

By Jeffrey Spencer

IN MLM- Without a Website.

It is possible to succeed and profit on the Internet without a website. I have been marketing online for over 2 years, most of that time without a Web site. I have sold well over $10,000 in product using nothing more than an e-mail account.

You can achieve this kind of Network marketing success on the Internet if you look at cyberspace as an extension of mail-order marketing. The Internet is an additional promotional tool for getting prospect leads and selling products.

Here are nine ways to succeed on the Internet without an MLM web site. In each case, the goal is to direct people to your e-mail account to obtain more information.

1) Place classified ads (similar to print classifieds) in the commercial on-line services including America On line (keyword: classifieds), Compu Serve (Go classifieds) and Prodigy (Jump classifieds). Do you promote a specific product or service off line? Adver tise it with an online classified and have people contact you via e-mail for more information. Send sales info by return e-mail or regular mail.

2) Place classified ads in Web classified malls. Check out http:// www.imall.com for an example. Do a search in a search engine for “classified malls” to locate others.

3) Use autoresponders. These are e-mail robots that automatically send information to the person that sent e-mail to the autoresponder. You will also receive a digest of the e-mail addresses and the messages sent to your autoresponder. Save this information for follow-up marketing. Visit myresponders.com for information on reliable autoresponders at great prices.

4) Use Internet Newsgroups to network and locate target customers. Offer items for FREE such as a catalog, report or article. Be careful of blatant advertising. You want to offer information of value to users. At the end of your FREE article or report, briefly tell people what you do and how to contact you for more information. Visit http://www.deja news.com for information on over 15,000 news groups.

5) Advertise in e-mail newsletters and online mailing lists. Just like a magazine or newspaper, you can advertise in other people’s e-mail publications. This is a great way to reach your customers directly by e-mail. Visit http://www.liszt.com for information on thousands of e-mail lists. Send e-mail to ad rates@info back.net for advertising information in my e-mail newsletter.

The MLM Lists.

6) Buy solicited e-mail lists. Similar to direct mail, you can send advertisements about your MLM products directly to people’s e-mail accounts along with instructions on how to get more information. However, be careful about renting unsolicited e-mail lists. This can be very damaging to your business if used incorrectly. Visit http://www.postmasterdirect.com for information on solicited e-mail lists.

7) Build your own “house” customer e-mail list. Save the e-mail address of anybody that contacts you via e-mail. These people are good prospects to contact for follow-up marketing. They’ve already shown an interest in your business. When sending follow-up Netwrok Marketing messages by e-mail you incur no costs for postage or printing. Great! Integrate your e-mail list-building with all forms of marketing, both on and offline.

8) Get FREE publicity online with press releases and articles you have written. At the end of an article, offer something FREE to readers via e-mail. Visit http://www.gebbieinc.com/presto.htm for information on blasting press releases online.

9) Host online Forums. On America OnLine and CompuServe there are numerous forums covering almost every topic. Contact the administrators of these and propose to be a guest expert for a future forum. This establishes you as an expert. People who participate in the forum might contact you about doing business.

By putting these ideas to work, you can build your business on the Internet with only an e-mail account.

Jeffrey Spencer is the publisher of the nationally recognized newsletter “Internet Profits!” and author of dozens of internationally published articles. E-mail your name & mailing address to ssimail@ix.netcom.com for newsletter information plus his special FREE report: “How to Really Use the Internet to Make Your Business More Competitive, Profitable and Successful

MLM Network Marketing Training How To Use Marketing and Sales To Explode Your MLM Home Business -Part 1

MLM Network Marketing Training How To Use Marketing and Sales To Explode Your MLM Home Business -Part 1

By Sean M. Lyden

Warning: Reading This And The Following Sales and Marketing Articles May Cause Your Business To Grow Beyond What You Are Presently Able To Handle.

Are you willing to take the risk and put in the effort to build and grow a home-based business? Then read on and prosper!

The MLM Problem.

The Problem Many home-based entrepreneurs don’t know how to best market their products and services. Some neglect proactive marketing all together, praying earnestly and waiting for prospects to fall through the ceiling. Others market full-force, but produce shoddy publicity materials or other key marketing mistakes that kill their business credibility, pushing clients away. Either approach will keep you from achieving your business potential and financial dreams.

The Bottom Line Whether you’ve been thinking about starting a home business or you’re already a seasoned home-based entrepreneur, the principle remains the same — your business’ survival and success hinge on how effectively you penetrate the marketplace. There fore, examine how the following marketing strategies and tools can help you boost your home business profits in 1998.

The Home-Based Advantage Low overhead costs, no commute to work, the ability to be home with the kids — these are just a few of the advantages for the home business owner. Gear your marketing efforts to capitalize on these and other home-based strengths including:

Adaptability. The Information Age has escalated the rate of change in the marketplace. To survive and thrive, you must be prepared to act — and act quickly. As a home-based entrepreneur, you can make adjustments instantly, without having to cut through the red tape of bureaucratic decision-making procedures of larger business.

Technology. Computers, the Inter net, fax machines, and emerging video-conferencing can take home businesses to a more level playing field with bigger companies, empowering entrepreneurs to accomplish tasks that used to require hiring staff to perform. • The Part-Time Op tion. Unlike conventional store-front businesses that require full-time attention and high overhead costs, home businesses can be operated part-time, at low cost, and — depending on your financial goals — can be phased into full-time operations.

Taking Your Business To The Next Level A common reason home businesses fail is because owners neglect the up-front planning needed to position their ventures. Once you have defined your market position — where you want to take your business in the next year — you will have moved one step closer to success. Begin by taking inventory of where your business is right now. What specific goods and services do you provide? How do you set yourself apart? What is your business’ reputation? How are you perceived by your customer as far as your prices, reliability, and other elements of your products or services? If you already have a business, seek feedback from existing clients. The next step is to project where you want to take your business in the next year. What market position do you want to occupy? Is the niche market you want large enough? How will your benefits outsell those provided by the competition? Do you have the ability, capital, resources and support to make your market position a reality? Your answers will give you the information you need to begin designing or updating your marketing plan.

Planning For Profit Once you have determined where you want to go, outline the essential steps to get there. Begin by writing a one sentence purpose (mission) statement for your marketing campaign. The rest of your plan should include a brief description of each of the following: • Benefits of your products and services. • Your target market. • What marketing tools will best help you achieve your mission. • Your market niche — what sets you apart in the market place. • Your marketing budget. Keep your marketing plan brief. The more concise you make your marketing plan, the more effective it will be in evaluating your marketing efforts throughout the year.

Finding Your Niche This is often the hardest task for a beginning home-based en trepreneur — but also one of the most crucial. In order for your venture to survive in a competitive marketplace, you must distinguish yourself from other businesses and find a niche. What makes your business unique? Why should someone choose to buy from you over a competitor? Prospective clients want to know. If you can give them a compelling answer, you will position yourself as a leader in your industry — boosting your profit potential.

The MLM Tools for Publicity.

Marketing Tools That Hit a Home Run According to Print Moz, no matter how you choose to publicize your business, one principle should guide your promotional material: Get to the point — fast. You’re vying for the attention of consumers bombarded each day with advertisements from countless companies — some being your competitors. Don’t waste any time getting your message across.

Ad — Vantage You have determined your market position and drawn up a marketing plan; now you’re ready to proactively spread the word about your products and services. One effective tool is mass-media advertising. You have a variety of media choices — depending upon your target market and your advertising budget — including magazines, newspapers, television, radio, and the Internet. Start by evaluating how and where your competitors advertise. What’s working for them? Take their best ideas; then design your own winning layout, positioning yourself as having the best offer.

Seductive Headlines As the first phrases seen in advertising copy, headlines should arouse enough interest in the reader so that they will want to read or listen on to learn more about your product, price and offer. To get ideas about what headlines will work best for you, scan different types of ad copy, particularly those from your competitors. Effective headlines:

• Capture the customer’s interest • Build business credibility • Highlight the most important benefits • Are always positive.

Testing Your Ads Advertising can be expensive, but for just about any business a mandatory investment. To get the most out of your ads, test them by the following criteria: • What is the quantity of leads or prospects that the ad generates? Compare this amount in terms of a unit cost of advertising (dollars in advertising per leads generated). • How many of these leads convert into sales? Different advertising media — due to the audiences they target — will vary in the numbers of actual closes. Continually check the response from your ads, make changes or run a new ad if necessary.

Regional & National Exposure Magazines and trade journals are the Energizer Bunny of the advertising tools — they keep going and going and going. Not only do magazine ads have the longest “shelf-life” of any advertising medium (giving your business exposure for as long as that issue is in circulation), but you can make reprints of that ad that will last you forever. You could run an ad in a major national magazine (a cost-effective option for home-based entrepreneurs to build credibility and compete with larger companies) and then order reprints of that ad to use as powerful credibility pieces in sales presentations, direct mailings, or whatever promotional means you choose. To find out if a publication will give you the exposure you want and fit in your marketing budget, call and ask for their media kit. Not only will you find out a magazine’s ad rates, but you’ll learn about its circulation, demographic focus, etc.

Extra! Extra! Read All About It! Newspaper ads are very effective for home-based businesses that market their products and services locally. Not only can you reach a large number of people in specific metropolitan locations, but you can also target pros pects via their interests (e.g. sports, lifestyle, and business sections). Go to your local library to study back issues of the newspaper in which you’re interested in placing an ad. What would be the best day for you to run an ad? If you were running a catering business, for example, you would choose Wednesday or Thursday because those are the days most newspapers print their food sections. What section of the paper would be best geared to your target market? If your offer is directed toward males, the sports section would be one for you to consider. Advertising costs depend on a number of factors including: the size of the ad, where in the paper it’s placed, the day it runs, etc. As with magazines, call and request a media kit from the newspaper to determine what advertising steps you can take that will fit within your marketing budget.

Making Waves With Radio Radio advertising enables you to home in on your target market depending upon the type of station, time of day and day of week you run an ad. The advertising costs for the large, more popular stations are out of reach for most home-based entrepreneurs. However, smaller stations provide less expensive options. When deciding whether or not you can afford to place a radio ad, determine how many times you need to run the ad in order for it to be effective. Initial placement may fit well into your budget, but the true test is to consider the overall costs of running an effective radio advertising campaign. For many home-based entrepreneurs, radio is not a cost-effective medium for home business owners, especially those who market to a national audience. However, if you target a local market and have the funds to run your ads consistently on a number or stations throughout the year, radio advertising may very well be the ticket you need to take your business to the next level.

The MLM TV Star!

Now You Too Can Be on TV! A television commercial — when done properly — is the most powerful way to get your message across. The combination of video and audio appeal to more senses than any other advertising method. His torically, be cause of television’s drawing power, only the big-name companies could afford to use it to advertise. However, with the dawn of satellite and cable TV, more affordable options are available for the home-based entrepreneur. As with radio, consider how often you need to run a TV ad for it to be effective. Then add up expenses. Placement costs have plummeted significantly, but if you purchase only one or two thirty second segments, you won’t likely make enough impact on your target market. Therefore, decide how much of your marketing budget you’re willing to devote to television advertising. If you cannot afford a significant number of runs, invest your advertising dollars elsewhere, such as magazine advertising. If you can, take full advantage of this powerful medium.

The Power Of Printed Material Once your ad has generated interest, how do you keep your prospects hungry to know more about what your business can do for them?

Brochures To Generate Closures Whet their appetites with a compelling brochure that showcases your business’ features and benefits and promotes your business expertise. Add attractive graphics and attention-grabbing headlines to give your brochure a professional appearance and build your business credibility.

Home-Based Basics Your brochure is just one component in you marketing arsenal. Don’t overlook the sales-generating potential of basic business printed materials:

Letterhead and Stationary: Use high quality paper. Consider including your mission statement and a brief listing of services. Incorporate all ways to contact you, such as e-mail and fax.

Faxes: A fax cover sheet should mirror the letterhead. Include your company name and number across the top of the page.

Business Cards: When meeting a potential client, the business card is your first introduction. Put a headline on it that defines your mission. Fill the blank space on the back the card with the top three benefits your business has to offer.

Invoices, Statements & Mis c ellaneous Correspondence: In all correspondence you have with a client, even sending a bill, use these as opportunities to market your business. As an example, an invoice to a client might contain a special discount only for previous customers.

Flyers: Less formal and shorter than a brochure, flyers are used for impersonal promotions targeted to a time-specific event (special discount, sale item, etc.). Home-based entrepreneurs who market to a local audience can tack them up on utility poles and bulletin boards, place under car windshields, insert in newspapers, or deliver through carrier route mail. For national marketing, flyers can be send through the mail.
