So many people ask the same question: Is Multi Level Marketing a REAL Business? Is it truly a business that can produce a living and income? Is it a REAL distribution business? It is a business that operates for the customer’s satisfaction, and always looks to gain new customers?

Here is the answer: YES.

How and why does it qualify as a business? Every business has certain traits and functions that are needed to do business and stay in business. We have developed what we call the “7 Business Factors Test”, and you have to ask these questions to see if it qualifies as a business. All businesses, no matter whether it is a traditional business or a non-traditional business, (such as MLM), answer these questions in the affirmative.

What are the “7 Business Factors Test” Questions?

1) Does the MLM Business distribute goods and services of some type?

Answer: Yes.

In MLM, there are goods and services that are distributed through personal distribution methods, and they are distributed directly to the customer, with no middle man. These goods and services can be manufactured by the MLM company, but usually are not. The goods and services many times are manufactured by an outside source, and then shipped by the MLM Business to the customer or distributor. Then the distributor can take the goods, and re-sell them to their customers as well.

2) Does the MLM Business have an official Office, headquarters, or structure that the business is operated out of, and with an address of some type?

Answer: Yes.

All MLM businesses should have some kind of office or headquarters that the goods are shipped from, or at least in charge of the shipments getting to the customer. This does not have to be a fancy office, but one that can get all the tasks needed to run the business done in a timely fashion. They should have a visible address on all communication.

The distributor’s business is usually operated out of the home, and that counts as a structure that the home business is housed.

3) Is there an accounting structure that is set up to run the business effectively and legally?

Answer: Yes.

All MLM businesses should have an accounting function and personnel set up to handle all business transactions. They not only keep the books for the MLM Business itself, but also the MLM distributor as well. The MLM Business from the home should have some form of an accounting system, for tax purposes, and for profit and loss statements. Accounting also helps keep the Company and distributor aware of the health of the business and how it is doing, or not doing.

4) Does the MLM Business have easy communication to get a hold of someone if needed?

Answer: Yes.

Communication is the lifeblood of any business, and MLM is no exception. MLM Businesses usually not only have an order line, and a distributor line, but a general public telephone number that the public can get in touch with them as well. Usually at the MLM Business Office, there is someone to answer the phone as well.

And the MLM business should also have an email system that is watched, and taken care of, on a daily basis. This is not only for the distributor base, but also the customers and public as well.

5) Does the MLM Business have the needed business licenses and legal structure to do business in the states and countries they operate in?

Answer: Yes.

All MLM Businesses that have been in business for any amount of time, must have the needed legal structure and licenses to operate in every state. If they do not, they will eventually be forced to cease doing business in that state. And most MLM Businesses have some form of a corporate structure that the company operates under. That could include being a C Corporation, an LLC, or a Sub S Corporation.

Even MLM distributor needs a license to do business in their city, so they will not be penalized if they do not have one and are caught.

6) Does the MLM business operate on a FOR PROFIT basis?

Every successful business structure, traditional or non-traditional, should operate on a FOR PROFIT basis. Even the MLM distributor needs to operate on a FOR PROFIT basis. If the MLM business does not operate in a profit mode, and loses money continually, the MLM business will not be in business for that long.

It is the same way for the MLM distributor. If the distributor does not make any money, then they will not stay in business long.

7) Does the MLM business perform all of the needed business functions to increase business, including marketing, promotion, campaigns, running specials, advertising tools, customer service, brand extensions, research and development, direct marketing, increasing brand awareness, and keeping their vendors at an honest price?

Answer: Yes.

Every MLM business operates to increase business, using all of the functions mentioned, and more. Even the MLM distributor needs to perform some of those functions, to increase their own business in their marketplace. These are functions any business needs to do, in order to stay in business, and enlarge it’s operating capacity.

Yes, an MLM Business is a TRUE business that operates to service the customer’s needs, bring products and services to the marketplace, and show a profit at the end of the year.

MLM or Multi Level Marketing, has passed the “7 Business Factors Test.” If an MLM Business you are considering does not answer all of the above questions YES, then you may want to consider seeking another MLM Business that can pass this test as a Multi Level Marketing business.

A Kick Off Meeting is where you “kick off” your business, by meeting your sponsor and getting an initial business plan done, warm market list done, etc. This psychologically is a MUST, as it creates an official “Doors Opened for Business” mindset, and an official START to bulding your business.

6) “Put Your Commitment in Writing. ”

With your sponsor, create a “Commitment Letter” stating what you will commit to, and what your sponsor wll do. When a new person comes into Network Marketing, they need to be focused on what they want their new company to bring into their life. This is called “The Golden Dozen List.” This is a list of the 12 things that you want MLM to bring into your life that is not currently there. Dream of what you want in your life. List the 12 things you desire, and a the bottom draw a line with the date on it, and then sign it. This will show you what you are going to be working for, and can be your “carrot” or “stick” when hard times come.

9) Make your HOT Market List.  

When you start your enterprise, you must LOOK TO THE PEOPLE THAT WILL HELP YOU- NO MATTER WHAT! This is called your HOT MARKET. No matter what you do, these are the people that will help you in any way they can, and support you in any way possible. Call these folks first.

10) “Get familiar with the Tools and Brochures your company has, and any other training tool.”

Get familiar with the recruiting tools, the presentation tools, the training tools, and any other tool the company has. This also includes websites, webcasts, and conference calls. Learn how to USE THEM PROPERLY, and how to maximize the power within each. It is NOT just about TALENT, but about the TOOLS in Network Marketing.

11) “Get a calendar or planner to start focusing in on the time you will spend working your business.”

Get a Franklin Planner, or some kind of Day Timer, and start scheduling your actions and tasks. Yes, you can use a palm pilot, but I have found that planners are more effective for new people. When are you going to start your business, decide how many hours are you planning on working, and then highlight the hours you are going to spend working. This will give you a visual map of what your week looks like.

12) “Ask this question- Who do I know that knows a TON of people , and will be willing to help me get started with some names?”

Call them, and tell them you need their help. Go see them, and see what kind of help they can give you as far as opening doors and referring some folks to you. You will ride their credibility, and their contacts. Yes, you must call your own warm market, but this is a great way to jump start your business and MLM Success as well.

13) “Who do you know that is VERY Successful? Write their names down.”

Then call them. Ask for their help. Ask if you can come and see them, and show them what you are doing, and see if they have any suggestions in ways to marketing it, and promoting it.

14) “Find a good script to practice, and then reduce it into TALKING POINTS.”

There are many great scripts that you can use to call people with, and your MLM company probably has one. Find a good one that you can connect with, and then reduce it to Bullet Points that you can use in your own style. Then PRACTICE, PRACTICE, PRACTICE!

15) “Find a good third party tool to help in your recruiting and presentation effort.

Many times we have a tendency to focus on the doing everything ourselves, and we end up talking ourselves out of the sale or recruit. Keep a tool handy to let the prospect look at, or listen to, and you can then have numerous presentations going on at once, using cds or dvds as presenters.

16) “Become a product of the product- and a Success story as well.”

You need to develop your own Personal Story, and your first 90 day story as well. Use your products and services, and become a Success at using them. Become the BEST at what the product can do, and the benefits it offers. Then use that story with your prospects to help sell the product line.

17) “Before approaching anyone, know the 4 Power Words.”

The most powerful words that you can use in approaching people are “I NEED YOUR HELP.” These words change the person’s listening from “What do they want?” to “How can I help?” Psychologically , they are Trigger Words. They trigger our instincts to help. Use them. They are powerful.

18) ” Set a time to start actually calling your warm market list, and write it down.”

This little tip will help you focus in on when you are pulling the trigger to call your list, but also psychologically get you used to the idea. Have your sponsor help if needed, with three ways. Either way, START CALLING.

19) “Ask for people’s HELP, Time, Attention, Assistance, or Input- but NOT their Money.”

People in MLM that come across like they have a dollar bill stuck on their forehead face massive resistance. Your prospect feels your hand already reaching for their money. Yes, you must get paid for what you do, but if you have a much better chance of doing business with them, if you ask for their help initially, vs. coming across like you want to sell them something. Seek their input FIRST, then seek the sale. You will be glad you did.

20) “You MUST learn how to Neutralize Objections. If you don’t, they will neutralize you.”

Objections are a training all by themselves. You must learn to neutralize them, and use them to work FOR YOU, not against you. Your company probably has a training on this, but if you do not, PassionFire does. If you learn how to master objections, you have learned how to master what stops most people cold in their tracks.

21) “Know the Three S’s of approaching your friends and family.”

The three S’s are” Short, Simple, Sincere.” Keep your approach SHORT for impact, SIMPLE for duplication sake, and SINCERE so they will FEEL your approach, not just hear it. This will help improve your response dramatically.

22) “Understand that Recruiting and Selling are TWO DIFFERENT THINGS! ”

There are people out in the industry that will tell you recruiting is Selling, and Selling is Recruiting. They are wrong. Selling is Transaction based, and Recruiting is Transformation based. Selling is a one time event, where Recruiting births many events in the future. Selling is about CLOSING people. Recruiting is about OPENING futures. Don’t be misled. They are 2 totally different processes, with different skill sets needed, no matter what some folks say.

23) “Understand that people are looking for SECURITY in some form from Network Marketing.”  

People are ultimately seeking an MLM Lifestyle, but also SECURITY of Lifestyle and Future. Know that when you are talking to them, and aks them what kind of Security is important to them.

24) “Promote HOPE- NOT HYPE!”

People today are too sharp to be hyped. Hype comes from the head, and mouth. Hope comes from the Heart and emotions. Don’t hype someone, as you will come across like a huckster. Be sincere, come from the heart, and talk to them about the Hope your company and products offer them, not getting rich. You can cover that part later, sincerely and heartfelt, when they have decided that your offer is worth listening to.

25) “It’s ALL about LEADERSHIP- for you and the prospect.”

People do not follow companies. People do not follow products. People do not follow compensation plans. People follow PEOPLE with STRENGTH. Keep focused on the Leadership factor. LEAD, don’t just tell. Start walking, and take people with you. Leadership is the SECRET to Success in MLM.

26) ” Always ASK for something to happen. If you do not, odds are, NOTHING will happen.”

Powerful focus. Ask for Help. Ask for Appointments. Ask for Input.. Ask for Opinions. Ask for  Referrals. Ask for Time. Ask for the Sale. Ask for the prospect to join you in your Success Journey. No matter what you do — ASK FOR SOMETHING!

MLM Leads are a great way to not only create activity in your MLM Business, but also find some great people for your business. Many people are looking for a home business, and MLM Leads have proven to be a great source of Success with lots of folks.

I worked cold market MLM leads for years, and was blessed with great Success. The cold market can  be brutal, but also can be fun and easy if you know what to do.

The MLM Success Secrets.

What are some of the Success Secrets of working MLM leads?

1) Make sure you know who you are looking for.

What kind of person are YOU looking for? You need to make sure that the MLM lead knows that you are looking for a particular type of person, and that you would like to see if they qualify. The 5 traits you always look for are:

Ambitious.
Friendly.
Positive.
Leader.
Good communicator.

Let them know that those are the traits you are looking for, and the traits that have proven to be needed for Success in Network Marketing. Also, a good track record of Success helps as well.

2) Always give them an Exit Strategy.

Make sure that you let them know they are free to end the call anytime they choose. There are many ways to do this, but my favorite way is the FEEL FREE tactic we teach at PassionFire School of Network Marketing.

People will perceive with an Exit Strategy that there is NO pressure and that you are not trying to do anything except hold a conversation with them.

“And feel free anytime during our conversation to end this call if you feel that this is something that simply is not right for you. Does that sound fair enough?”

3) Keep the topic, focus, and conversation about them.

Ask, ask and ask more questions about the MLM lead. They want to see if you are interested in THEM, not just recruiting them. Ask about their family, where they live, the type of work they do, what they like to do in their spare time, what kind of spare time they have, what kind of money they are looking out of a home business, why they are looking at a home business, and what kind of Success are they expecting if they start a home business.

“Tell me about yourself” is the ULTIMATE Cold Market MLM Lead opening phrase that can be magic in MLM Cold Market recruiting.

Network Marketing Prospects.

4) Your first priority is to RELAX the prospect, then CONNECT to them.

You MUST Relax the MLM Lead if you are going to be on the phone with them and hold a conversation with them. How do you do that? get them talking about themselves, and you MUST come across as totally relaxed and in control as well.

Then find some things you have in common with the MLM lead, and connect with them on those things. It could be knowing someone in their city or state, same hobby, same type of family, same school attended, same industry you work in,etc. Find something to CONNECT with them, and it will be easier for them to connect to you.

5) Let them know that you only need 1 minute of their time.

We found that if you simply say, “I really only need 1 minute of your time, as I am not sure this is something that would be right for you or not,” that will open them up much more to listen, and you will find that most people will appreciate the respect you just showed for their time.

Many people are kept on the phone for 15,20,30 minutes at a time. Don’t do that. Set yourself apart from the crowd. Give them a timeline, and stick to it. If they find that you have something they might be interested in, you will know it. Say, “Is this making sense to you?” They will let you know if it is.

There are many great ways to create Success in MLM leads and in the cold market, but these 5 tips are the start of what you need to do in order to create a solid start with your MLM Lead and Cold market prospect.

A good MLM training newsletter is worth a million dollars to a distributor in Network Marketing. Many Network Marketing newsletters/ezines can be found out there, and there are some really good ones. But there are also some newsletters that are not so good.

 

What do you do? Subscribe to them all and read them for a year, and then decide yourself? (You’ve got to be kidding!)

 

You don’t have to. We have already done that. We subscribed to over 100 MLM training ezines, (whew!) and found some really good ones, and others that are ones we cannot recommend. (There were 14 total people that read the newsletters regularly, and the top 17 list is the consensus of the 14 people.)

 

The MLM Criteria.

 

What were the criteria that we used to look at these network marketing newsletters?

 

1)      Constant fresh and unique training content.

 

We looked for a consistency in content, and fresh content. Many newsletters we found ran some of the same articles in their ezine. Others changed the titles, and kept the content the same.

 

We simply asked this question: Is the content unique and fresh and trains folks, not just motivates them. Many ezines were a lot of motivation, but little training. There is nothing wrong with that, but if you are looking for a training newsletter, it can be a little frustrating. What we found is that many were highly motivational, but not educational.  We support motivation by all means! But we could not include them in our top 17 MLM training ezine list.

 

2)      Delivery of the newsletter regularly.

 

We found that many ezines were emailed out every once so often, and not on any kind of a schedule. We felt that if you are going to be depending on a training letter as a way to learn this business, then you need to know that the delivery of content will be consistent, and dependable.

 

Either once a week, or twice a month was the average delivery time of the most read newsletters, and that seems to be what people are looking for.

 

3)      Topics focused on for what the distributor needs to learn to succeed.

 

 

The best newsletters we found had a focus of topics that would be what the average networker would need to know to create a successful business. These topics include recruiting, prospecting, approaching people, handling objections, doing presentations, following up, closing, training, building a downline, motivating your group, leadership, personal development, doing events, new distributor training, and advanced training in MLM and Network Marketing.

 

Many of the newsletters were too focused on one or two topics, and never varied for a more complete training program. There is nothing wrong with that, but a total training focus is what we were looking for.

 

4)      The Look and Feel of the MLM  training newsletter.

 

Many of the newsletters were only text, no graphics, but had great content. Many of the newsletters looked incredible, but their content was very weak. We found that the best training MLM newsletters had both. Even the text ezines were well put together, and had great content. A great example of that is Tom Big Al Schreiter’s Fortune Now Newsletter. It contains great stuff and it’s all text.

 

The feel of the training ezine was also important. Did they come across like authority writing? Was the feel of it directing, leading,  and teaching people? Was the feel of the newsletter friendly and warm, or cold? This was another factor that was part of the over all consideration.

 

5)      Did the newsletter want you to tell others about it?

 

This was a real big consideration. We talked to some folks that had subscribed to many of them, and they all basically said the same thing: The newsletters that they were talking about were the same ones.

 

This was important, as the content needs to be exciting, and strong enough for people to want to tell their team about it.

 

These were the 5 Most Important considerations of the Top 17 MLM Training Newsletters. There were other considerations as well, like popularity on search engines, ease of subscribing, reprints on sites, etc.

So many times we have seen as an industry people not really understanding Multi level Marketing, and because of that, truly do the industry a disservice by leaving the industry, and then saying bad things about it. True, charlatans are in every industry, but if they had only known and embraced the three secrets that I am going to cover, it might have ended up a different result.

The Three MLM Secrets.

But there are Three Secrets that can make Multi level Marketing a whole lot more likely to create a Success in your life than a failure.

Ok….what are the three secrets?

1) You MUST Understand that it is about LEVERAGE.

You have heard this before. But understand why leverage is so important: Leveraging time is the single greatest secret of the wealthy. They understand that if you leverage your time, you can then create an army doing the job that normally one person would do by himself, thus creating greater results.

You MUST leverage your time and income to create wealth. Yes, you must work very hard, but having 25 others working towards building your business as well as their business is the most powerful form of leverage there is. All corporations leverage other people’s efforts, and then combine all the employees efforts to create a business!

Multi Level marketing does the same thing. It allows you to build a team of distributors and then leverage their time and effort, and combined with yours, can potentially build a solid business.

There is NO wealth of any kind if there is no leverage. You either are leveraging effort, time, money, or people. Multi level Marketing allows you to leverage all 4.

The Network Marketing Success Math.

2) You MUST understand that it is about DUPLICATION.

We all have heard this before many times: You gotta DUPLICATE!

But what exactly do you duplicate in Multi level marketing? Simple. You duplicate TASKS, and then form them into a PROCESS that is step by step path to Success.

You cannot duplicate personalities, we know that. But you CAN duplicate the tasks that are necessary to create the results that will form a Success in Multi level Marketing.

The tasks you duplicate are prospecting, contacting, presenting, following up,and getting the decision. You also duplicate training, recruiting, building for events, and getting a new distributor started, among other tasks as well.

3) You MUST understand that it’s about MULTIPLICATION.

Get this Secret: Duplication creates paychecks. Multiplication creates wealth in Multi level Marketing.

What do you multiply?

1) Don’t Recruit Anyone.

You read that right. Don’t recruit anyone. Why? when you are focused on recruiting people, there will be a natural resistance to you, and to your intentions. Recruiting is a great process, but it has many better roads to get you there.

Let me ask you a question: Would you like to be recruited because someone wants you to become a paycheck to them? Of course not. That is why that most people don’t want to feel like they are being recruited either.

Dont’ recruit anyone. Solve a life problem that they have with your business. Find out what they want to change for the better in their life, and then show them how you can your Network marketing business can help.

2) Don’t do a presentation.

When you are doing a presentation, many times, people feel they are being “pitched” like a used car salesman, and are turned off by it. That is not what you need to do.

Don’t do a presentation. Hold A Conversation. One that contains the details of what you want to cover. People feel so much more comfortable with a conversation, than being pitched a new deal, a new thing, a new opportunity.

When you hold a conversation, people are put at ease, and the red flags that go up with a “pitch” are not there, and people will listen more closely to you.

3) Don’t follow up.

When you are following up, it feels like you are following up to sell them, or recruit them. that is going to set the red flags up a lot.

Don’t follow up. RECONNECT.

When you reconnect, there is a whole differnet feeling, and a whole different result. You are reconnecting to simply see if a person has any questions, and to see how you can help. You are reconnecting to simply let them know you only want what is best for them, and their family.

What do you do to build a SCORCHING HOT MLM Training Program that will develop new distributors quickly? There are many answers, but we have found that there are 5 main Secrets to Training that sets new distibutor’s Success onFIRE.

Network marketing training is imperative. You must have good training on many subjects, including Recruiting, Retailing, Prospecting, Contacting, Presenting, Getting the Decision, and Building a group. Those are just the start of a solid MLM Training program.

But I have found after 22 years in this industry, that there are 5 main things that a great MLM Training program needs. Many folks who could have been superstars in the Direct Marketing industry never were, because of weak training. It had no FIRE in it, and no pattern to follow. And as you grow in MLM, there is more to learn as you build your business. That is why a SCORCHING Training program is a MUST at the beginning.

MLM Clarity.

Let me be clear about something. There is a difference between Training and education. Education is classroom instruction. Training is in the trenches. It SHOWS the distributor what needs to be done, not just tell what needs to be done. So FIRST comes the education in a classroom style teaching,(can be in a hotel or living room) then comes the trenches and showing them how it is done LIVE. All great training is done in this way, and it is a powerful way to empower your Network Marketing Business. It is a SCORCHING 1-2 Punch.

What are the 5 things SCORCHING Training should have?

1) A Duplicable Process.

This is common sense, and we have all heard it before. You need to have a step by step process that is easy to follow, and is a PATTERN that new folks can follow, and learn. We live in a sequenced based world, and we follow a sequence in everything we do. That is why that the process needs to be sequenced, so it can be duplicable. If you cannot duplicate what you are doing, then you will have a hard time building any kind of a long term business.

Many companies I have been blessed to work with lacked COMPLETE MLM training in their programs. They had some format of training, but not covering ALL aspects of what a new distributor needs. This should include training even on what to do on a daily basis, product training, corporate training, compensation training, and even the start of Leadership training.

The question all training should answer is “What do I do next?” If that question is answered, then you can pretty much bet that the training program is close to complete if not totally complete.

4) A Success Path.

Every distributor needs a Success path. This is a Path that they travel, to hit the first goal or promotion in the Compensation plan. It has daily goals, daily activities, timelines, how many calls a day, how many sales a week, how many recruits a month, and how much volume a month. This Success Path will be a day by day, call by call, action by action plan that will actually steer the new peson to Success over a period of time. It also includes a day by day Personal Development Program that develops the new distributor on the inside.

A Success Path is only a Path, and not a magic bullet. It is up to the new person to walk it. Most new distributors will, if given the opportunity, and the road to travel.

5) LIVE Role Playing.

There is NOTHING as powerful as Role Playing with the new distibutor. It gives them “Artifical Experience” that psychologically will prepare them for the real thing. OK…you have a new MLM distributor. What do you do with that person? Good question! There is a “Success Path” that we suggest following that has proven effective and powerful for the new distributor.

The MLM Kick Off Meeting.

You MUST Schedule what we call a “Kickoff Meeting” within 72 hours after siging the application. This is the official “kick off” of their business, and psychologically is the official opening of their doors for business with the public.This meeting lasts about an hour, and helps to educate them on most aspects of your company, products, pay plan, and training.

There are topics you need to cover with the distributor to get them going quickly! When you meet with your new MLM distributor, whether in their home or at a restaurant, be sure to cover these topics completely.

Here are the steps we have always recommended:

1.Paperwork.

You must cover all the paperwork, including the application, order, any tools they may want, and any other neccessary paperwork needed for Success in your company.

2.Order.

What kind of order to they want? Does the company have certain packages to purchase? Let them decide what is best for them, and make sure they have the order paperwork filled out properly.

3.Company, Product, and Pay Plan Information.

Give them any information on the company and products they need. Keep it simple. Make sure they know who the owners are, and the history of the MLM company.Make sure they are familar with an overview of the product line. And cover the pay plan in general terms, DON’T COMPLICATE! And get them to a local fast start training as soon as possible.

4.Review Planner.

If your company has a Success Planner or a New Dealer Kit, then go through it with them. This will help to start focusing them into the training from the company.

5.Review Other Tools.

What other tools does the company have that the new distributor will need? Make sure you cover them as well.

6.Brochures.

What kind of brochures does the company have for marketing? Cover those with the new person, and get them familiar with these powerful visual tools.

7.Listen to any 24/7 Conference Calls.

Does your company have 24/7 recruiting or training calls that you can use? If so, let them new distributor hear them. If your company does not have them, then you may want to consider doing them yourself.

The Network Marketing Upline.

8.Upline Introductions.

Who is your upline? You need to introduce them to your new person. Call them ahead of time to insure they will be available. Have your upline welcome them aboard and offer any assistance needed.

9.Introduce and Familiarize them with the Websites.

Show your new person the website and all the details of it, including the back office, if there is one.

10.Prospect List/Memory Jogger.

Make a list of the first 10 people the new distributor will call. This is their HOT market.Then make a list of the next 25 they will call. This is the start of their warm market list. That is a good number to start with, and it won’t overwhelm them. Eventually, you will come up with at least with 150 names with them.

11.Introduce 3-way Calling.

Make sure they have 3 way calling on their phone. And then show them how to do a 3 way with you. They must learn to MASTER the 3 way call to master Success in MLM.

l2.Schedule First 3 PBR’s.

In Home Meetings are a great way to launch a new business. A PBR is a Private Business Reception. Plan on inviting the new person’s warm market to an In Home Celebration of their new business, and hold 3 of them within the next 45 days. Send out invitations of the first PBR 72 hours after this meeting.

13.Schedule to Attend next 3 Local Events.

When are the next local training and special events? Schedule them to be there to learn, and also to bring friends to these events.

14. Goals and Dreams.

What are the first 7 day goals? What are the first 30 day goals? How many sales will be achieved? How many new distributors will be recruited? What volume is the target? How many hours a week will the new person work and wehn are they? And complete their “Golden Dozen List.” This is a list of the 12 things that the new person wants their new business to bring into their life that is not currently there. Is it a new home? A new car? Write down the “WHY” that they are doing Network Marketing, and what they want Network Marketing to change in their life.

The MLM Land Mines.

15. What things will discourage the new distributor enough to make them want to leave the business? (THIS ONE IS IMPERATIVE TO COVER!)

Find these out, as you need to know this so you can help the new distributor get through them if they should show up. These are the “Success Landmines” that you need to locate and lead the new distributor around.

These are the things you initially need to get the new distributor off to an Explosive start. List them in a checklist to make sure you cover them. Encourage constantly the new distributor, and pour into them at this meeting your confidence in them. Create an EXPLOSIVE start by following these steps to Massive Success in MLM and Network Marketing.

Oh…

Schedule the first 10 warm market phone calls with them. Put down in your planner when this will take place, and then plan on starting the phone call session with them. Preferrably this takes place within 24 hours of the Kick Off Meeting.

The Great MLM lead.

There are certain traits that you look for in a good MLM lead. After working a TON of leads, and blessed to having built an organization worldwide, I have found that all good MLM Lead have 5 traits in common, with no exception.

These traits you look for, and if you find that a lead has at least 3 of them you have a great possibility for your business. And MLM Leads can also end up being one of the best revenue sources for you, but first, find these traits. If you do, you will strike GOLD. These traits are common sense in many respects, but many times are rare to find.

1)A GREAT Personality.

One of the KEY traits that we have found is an infectious personality. A personality that truly shines and glows. You can feel their warmth over the telephone, and sincerity. They have the type of personality that you simply want to be around, and talk to.

You know the type. For whatever reason, you ENJOY the conversation with them, and they are always positive, and optimistic. They have a tendency to make you glad that you talked to them, and you are drawn towards them.

This type of MLM Lead can be a gold mine, as they usually hang out with people of the same personality, and same outlook on life. They rarely are down, and when you call them they always seem glad you called.

2)High Energy.

Another KEY trait to look for is High Energy. But let me be clear: High Energy is NOT hype. There are many folks out there that you will call that will try to HYPE you into believing you have found the GOLD MINE you have been looking for, and will tell you all about how great they are.

High Energy people don’t really talk that much about themselves, but what they are doing. They focus on the engagement of actions and results, and you can FEEL their energy radiate form the phone and any communication they do. They can GET THINGS DONE, and refuse to quit during adversity. Plus, they have a great approach to Success in Life and Network Marketing– they have a philosophy of WHAT ARE WE WAITING ON?

It’s all About People in Network Marketing.

3)Great People Skills.

This trait is HUGE. They MUST feel comfortable with people. Especially people they do not know. In MLM, you will communicate and work with a lot of folks that you do not know. And if you find that your MLM Lead has great people skills, you will have found a great potential for Success in network marketing.

People skills include friendliness, good listener, sincere, great communicator, and loves people. If a person truly loves people, they will go a LONG WAY to being a Success as an MLM lead.

4)A Good Listener.

An MLM Lead that is a good listener will end up being a better recruiter than most. Recruiting is all about listening to the prospect. If you find that the MLM Lead asks questions, and then LISTENS and them asks more questions, you have found a good possibility for a recruit. Listening is the MASTER skill in Communication in Network Marketing, and Recruiting. A good listener is hard to find, but they are out there.

Does the MLM Lead talk more than they listen?

Do they try and dominate the conversation?

Do they try and impress you?

If this is the case, they probably do not have a great listening pattern established. But if they do listen to you, ask questions, and then ask more questions that make sense to ask, then you have found a potential gold mine for recruiting and building an organization.

Trustworthy in MLM.

5)Available when they said they would be.

This is a HUGE trait that many MLM leads do not have. If a prospect says to call them back in 2 days, and you do, and they continue the conversation as before, you have a good one. Many MLM leads will not available at the time you call, because they had no intention to begin with of doing your business. A person of their word, who shows up for a return call like they said they would, is a person of integrity.

Many people will attempt to play hide and seek as an MLM lead, and that is just part of the business. If they do not show up like they said they would, that is an issue that you may want to consider in the future, as all Future Great Leaders keep their word.

And here is a BONUS Trait- DISSATISFIED.

A Great MLM lead MUST be dissatisfied with their income, life, future, or something. You are to help them change what they are not happy with in their life, with your products and company. If they are Dissatisfied, then that means they are probably LOOKING for something better. Help them find it.

These are the 5 Traits you should look for in a great lead. Yes, there are other traits that you will MLM leads, but these are the ones that we found to be worth GOLD in this business of working MLM Leads in Network Marketing.

MLM Prospecting is a tough business if you do not know who you are looking for, and what they need to succeed in MLM. And it never fails — Time and time again. Over and Over. Just like clockwork. You can almost predict it.

How many times have we been talking to someone, and they sign up, and we get all excited–and we wait. And we wait. And we wait. And then we wait some more, for them to show any true interest in this business. And then we keep waiting till we get discouraged.

Sound familiar? What went wrong? How did we blow it? We spent all that time to recruit them and they don’t do SQUAT! What happened?

INFERNO Secret:

Sometimes we are more interested in recruiting someone than actually qualifying them to see if they really have a chance of success in MLM. Have you ever done that?

You cannot PUSH a ROPE. “That dog ain’t gonna hunt” is a saying we have here in Dallas. Some “dogs” simply never get off the porch when it comes to taking action in their life!

So what do you do? How can you at least maximize your odds for finding the people who will be “More Likely” to be serious about this MLM business than not? Good Question!

I had the honor of being in the Financial Services industry before I discovered network marketing, and was blessed with being the only person in the history of the agency (92 years) to ever win a fast start award that the company had. I worked hard, and many long hours.

But I was shown an amazing secret to defining the right prospects that made a HUGE difference in my success. (Financial Service reps are GREAT prospects for this business!)

A multi-million dollar earner in investments gave me what we call the “7 Star Formula” that defined who was more likely to do business with you than not, and I stuck to it and it worked. I brought it into the MLM business with me and lo and behold it worked great! And I have also now seen it in other places in the industry, so I know it has gotten some play in the marketplace. I cannot remember who authored it, but it’s HOT!

The “7 Star Formula” is the 7 key Traits for the best Potential MLM Network Marketing Prospects you look for in a prospect. It can tell you a lot of how this person will work this business.

INFERNO Secret:

There is NO sure fire formula for this, as the secret to success in this business lies within the HEART. But it will help save you a lot of time that you might have wasted with the “Not Likely” to succeed people.

The 7 Network Marketing Success Traits.

When you are recruiting folks look for these 7 things–and each one is worth 1 star. Add the stars up after rating a prospect, and the higher the number, the better the candidate.

1) 25 years or older.

2) Married.

3) Has a child.

4) Has a fulltime job.

5) Has a Bank Account.

6) Owns a Home.

7) Can afford to invest a little money in their business.

OK–Why these particular 7 things? Because they show 3 things about the prospect:

1) Solidity in their life

2) Obligation to the future

3) Strong Reasons to do better in Life

INFERNO Secret:

You are looking for the 5’s, 6’s, and 7’s. But if you are talking to a 2 or a 3, well, that is your call, as there are broke people who have come into this industry and done amazing things. But they are the exception. Odds are they won’t do a whole lot in Network Marketing.

If someone is 25 or older, it has been proven that they have taken MLM more seriously as a future. Yes, I know there are exceptions, and the Gen X folks are doing this business, but they are around 25 and up anyway.

If they are married, have kids, are working, own a home, and have a bank account, it shows they are probably MATURE enough to do this MLM business and RESPONSIBLE. These are KEY traits to successful folks in a home business.

The Rate the MLM Prospect Reality.

Rate each prospect you have with this formula and work first with the ones who are 5-6-7 on the scale, and then call the others. You must call all the folks you know, as they will at least be willing to help you in some way. But understand–there are Potential STARS on your list. You now know how to Define the “More Likely” to succeed that will be really serious about this business. Plus you now know who will be “Less likely” to be interested as well.

Your names you have on your list are your inventory, and you build your success equity in your group with those names. Make sure you choose the inventory “More Likely” to build equity and success in your group, instead of ending up with total frustration and discouragement — in MLM Prospecting and MLM Leads.
