I thought twitter was something people were doing as idle chit chat. Doug’s article opened my eyes to the idea that many of these people are talking about things that are important to them (a few characters at a time). I was not aware that I could find people that were interested in things I am. And I could discover people talking about health concerns that I have products and services that could help them and their family. I love the idea of being able to develop a relationship with like-minded people. Tweetbeep.com will be used as a business tool for me!

I had a similar mindset, Christine, and had not bothered to get on Twitter, as it seemed to be redundant to the other social networking site I was already on. It quickly became obvious that others were using this technique or doing manual searches, because within an hour I already had followers, and in a day or two, I had over 30 people following me that I did not know prior to joining. That has been increasing daily. We so often limit ourselves with our own thinking, don’t we?
