MLM Prospecting- What Are The Signs That It is Time to Let a Prospect Go?

 What? YOU are NOT INTERESTED???

So you have a prospect on the hook and you KNOW that she is going to come into your Network Marketing MLM business?

But…it has been 5 months and she has yet to tell you yes. Well, the reason why she has not told you yes, is she has already told you NO and you just were not aware of it.

Yep. NO! But you did not hear it.

“Wait!” you say! She is STILL interested as she still takes my phone calls.

So does a prisoner in jail. And that is a very good comparison.

One of the biggest mistakes made in Net.work Marketing is this: (WRITE THIS DOWN!)

“Too many distributors spending too much time with too many people with too little interest.”

The prospect has several different ways of saying that you need to go find someone else, and maybe later would be a good time to talk to me. (Or maybe never.)

You must be aware of these signs. if you see them then you may consider getting another prospect.

You should be doing that any way as you need to add a new person in the pipeline EVERY DAY!

What are these signs?

1) If the prospect suddenly becomes less than enthusiastic about talking with you.

You can feel it. I call it The “Energy Drop.” It is the lack of energy on the phone with you. Their energy drops from the first time you talked. And if it continues to drop- they are being nice to you. But they have said NO already with the Energy Drop- with every phone call.

2) If the prospect continues to say, “I have one more question…”

THAT is code for - “I am leading you on.” Yes, there are those rare exceptions that some prospect wants to build an encyclopedia of information before making a decision- but it it one in a hundred. The rest are leading you on.

Get another prospect. You do not need their torment nor lack of respect for you.

3) If the prospect continues to say…” No I have not- but I will. I promise. I have been really busy.”

Busy for 6 months? Come on. Get real You are not busy. You are a jerk for not telling the networker NO. Let the networker know that you are not interested.

And if they do not- YOU tell them NO. You are NOT in th business of letting someone waste your time. Let them go- and find a new prospect. One that is honest and up front with you.

4) If the prospect calls you back- at weird hours and you only get their VM message.

Prospects can be a trip. They can be really canny at knowing when you are not going to be at home. And they call you to say they want you to KEEP CHASING THEM!

Don’t. Your name is not Fido. You do not chase people. You are a professional Networker and are in the business of helping people- not chasing them to satisfy their ego.

5) If the prospect continues to say, “I am still thinking about it.”

After 4 months- they are still thinking. And still thinking.

And still thinking.

Let them and their thinking go. Find a HOT prospect that wants to do something with their life, and wants to do something NOW!

You are looking for someone whose timing is NOW and your business is right for them.

Clean your “Maybes” up and get them off the fence. If they will not be upfront and tell you NO- then you simply help them along- and tell them NO.

Keep in touch. Call them back on occasion.

But only if you want to play The Great Prospect Chase Game again in your home business.

YOU deserve better. And so do your other prospects. They are waiting on you to call them.

Do it. Now.

blessings…doug
