We can all learn something from this debacle. And in MLM Network Marketing, it is a great lesson for us all to learn.

In Network Marketing, we have all opened a door and walked through it; we do it daily. Doors are an entrance or an exit to where we are going, or coming from. We have doors in our homes, in our cars, and just about everywhere else we go. Doors are a part of our daily life, and our direct-selling Network Marketing business.
You may not realize it, but you have a door you walk through every morning, and everyone on the planet walks through that door. This door is one that is a little different from any other door you face in your day. This door is invisible. Each day when you wake up, you have two invisible doors facing you, before your feet ever hit the floor.
They have been there all your life, and can impact and affect your life beyond anything I could ever write or talk about. These doors are powerful entrances to life and all that goes with it. These doors are special, as they have writing on them in big, bold letters.
One door has “Success” written on it, and the other door has “Struggle” written on it. One door leads to a life of success, wealth, and treasure overflow. The other door leads to a life of struggle, worry, and survival. Both doors are entrances to where your life and mlm business is headed, and what you can expect out of today.
If you walk through the door of Success daily, then you have entered a life of success. If you walk through the door of Struggle, then you have entered a life and world of struggle.
“IN Network Marketing, every morning, you have a chance to walk into a world and life that most people only dream of.”
Most people today walk through the door of Struggle in their home business. Why does this happen? It is a learned behavior. We are programmed to think a certain way, view things a certain way, expect things in a certain way, and to take action in a certain way. All of these things were learned from what we heard growing up.
Many times, we are taught that the door of Struggle is “just the way it is, that's life,” and there is no alternative to that door. There is an alternative, and it is an entrance that many people have chosen to walk through daily. They have let go of the learned sayings that dominate most people’s lives.
What are those sayings? You know, the ones we all grew up hearing:
“Do you think money grows on trees?”
“What do you think I'm made of, money?”
“We cannot afford that.”
“If you don’t wish for much, you won’t be disappointed.”
“Hold on to what you got. You may not get anymore.”
“Times are tight.”
“Life is tough.”
“We never seem to be able to get ahead.”
You have a chance to awake each day with Network Marketing and walk into a world and life that most people only dream of, if you decide to. It is a world that is soaked with possibilities and hope. This entrance leads to the lifestyle that everyone dreams of, but few ever live. It can become a part of your life, if you decide to walk through that door. Your life will change beyond recognition. Why? You will change beyond recognition.
What lies behind the Success door is a life-changing power, and a life-changing way of thinking. That is why most people in direct selling do not succeed like they could have—they were walking though the wrong door. Whichever door you are walking through in the morning, is where your life and business are headed.
Choosing Your Door
Tomorrow morning in your MLM business, when you wake up, you will face two doors. One has Success written on it, and the other has Struggle written on it. Which doorknob is your hand going to reach for? Which entrance are you going to walk through? Which world is going to be yours tomorrow—Success or Struggle?
People respond to you in this business from what they perceive. Do they perceive you as headed straight to Success or straight to Struggle? That all depends on the entrance that you walk through each morning.
Your thoughts are the keys that open either an exit from Success, or the entrance to it. The decision is yours for your MLM and Network Marketing business.

MLM Training- Your Number One Job in Network Marketing is?

Frustration can be a killer to your business. And rightfully so, as we all go through frustration from time to time.
You know –where you don’t feel like doing anything. Talk to anybody and you are starting to doubt this business really works.
At least for you. Been there?
You right now may be thinking that you want to do this business, but nothing is working and you seem to be working your rear end off. You make the calls, and nothing happens. You follow up and nothing happens. Your prospects disappear without a trace.
You are thinking–”Can I REALLY do this?”
But yet you are BUSY.
Busy at doing what?
There is a difference in MLM between EFFICIENT and EFFECTIVE.
The average distributor in this business is Efficient. Bur LEADERS in this business are EFFECTIVE.
EFFICIENT we have heard is doing things right. And yes, you must do things right or this business will not work as it should.
EFFECTIVE is doing the right things and THEN doing them right.
Most people in MLM never grow past Efficient(If they even grow at all) and they work their enterprise the best they know how, and yet it seems to never really move that much.
You seem to be doing everything right.
But the question is — are you doing the right things?
There is only one thing we will ever get paid for in MLM and that is COMMUNICATION. Simply:
Your Job is to do one thing:
Create EFFECTIVE Exposures and a LOT of them.
That’s it for the new person. That is what you should focus on and no more.
Here is a Radical Paradigm Shift for you:
Your job # 1 is NOT to sell. Your job is NOT to recruit. Your job is NOT to train. Those are FRUITS of an EFFECTIVE Exposure. Those are what GROW and Blossoms from an EFFECTIVE Exposure and Communication.
Your JOB #1 is to create an EFFECTIVE exposure about your business and products through magnetic communication which attracts the prospect to take action.
You may be BUSY, but busy at making ineffective Exposures, which are killing your business and your self esteem and it it can be corrected so easily.
What creates an EFFECTIVE Exposure?
Three things:
1) IMPACT.
Your job is NOT of INFORM but IMPACT. Most people who are BUSY and EFFICIENT focus on DETAILS –Facts, and the information. Folks who get rich in MLM create an IMPACT and they are not focused on Details but Destiny. The prospect’s destiny–they move the prospect on the inside by talking about what waits for their life and future on the outside.
They are not focused on their paycheck –but the PROSPECT.
And they are not focused on the Process as much as the Power of Change as they know they are in the LIFE CHANGING BUSINESS.
2) Emotional Connection.
You must create an Emotional Connection with the prospect.
How?
Simple –you focus on what they want to change for the better or add to in their life the most, and then show them how your business and products can help bring that into their life.
They must develop and emotional connection to the product, or the business, or you as a Leader and you must create the possibility that what their life is missing can be obtained through you and your company. And then show them how.
With an EFFECTIVE Communication called a PRESENTATION.
3) VALUE.
Let me ask you a question:
Would you buy a car that had no value to you?
Would you buy a house that had no value to you?
Would you buy a pair of shoes that had no value to you?
Of course not.
Guess what?
Your prospect will never start moving towards you as long as they don’t see VALUE in what you are offering, what you are doing, and who you are.
VALUE RULES SUPREMELY!
You MUST show Value to the prospect in everything that you do and say.
How?
Find out what THEY VALUE in their life, and show them how your Business, Products, and YOU can help increase that in their life. I call it the “4 Major Wants of Lifestyle”:
People are looking today to “INCREASE, EXPAND, ENLARGE and EMPOWER their and their family’s life” and you simply must show them how you can help them do that.
What are you spending your time doing in MLM?
Selling?
Recruiting?
Training?
Being BUSY?
How about getting EFFECTIVE at Exposing your business and products, and let all of the above be a FRUIT of your actions –not the sole focus?
If you do that, your results will blossom abundantly like fruit on a tree–a MONEY TREE!
And your growth will be UNSTOPPABLE in this business of MLM and Network Marketing.

MLM Recruiting- The 5 HUGE Mistakes Made in MLM Recruiting

In mlm recruiting, there is a standard belief that you must understand. It is this:
We get paid to do one thing, and one thing only. It will determine 95% of your paycheck and that is:
Communicating with people.
I have said that before and I hope you understand, we are a business of Communication with marketing blended into it. With that in mind– There are 5 HUGE reasons why people fail in recruiting in network marketing.
And after studying and being in the industry for nearly 22 years , I discovered there is a pattern that I saw that developed with people who were struggling with their recruiting, which usually is the majority of folks. And I hope that you will look at these 5 reasons and see where you can change your focus and efforts to a more productive and effective style of recruiting.
Here are the 5 reasons for Network Marketing Recruiting failure:
1)The Distributor is not talking to people.
Yes, you read that right. Amazing as that sounds. There are many people who lead people to believe with their words that they are actually recruiting and talking to people, but they are not. They are busy at building a facade of an mlm business and never really engaging the conversation and contact necessary for success. Why? Fear of many things but that is the biggest reason. And how do you overcome it?
Find a recruiting partner who will help emotionally support you and help you whether it is your upline or sideline, and work with them.
Yes, there are folks out there who truly are talking to no one, as they are scared. If you see no action happening with someone in your downline, it may be a “silent talker.” In other words, someone who talks about recruiting, but is silent when it comes time to recruit.
You MUST communicate with folks if you are going to have success in the marketplace. Imagine — fooling yourself into believing you are truly working this network marketing business this way. NOT!
2) The Distributor is not talking to enough people.
This is an interesting thing. There seems to be a comfort level with people that says, “I have talked to “X” number of people, and nothing is happening, so that means I can’t recruit because this doesn’t work…” Again–NOT! I have said this over and over:

One of the biggest reasons failure occurs in Network Marketing, is too many distributors spend too much time with too many people who have too little interest.
Talk to a lot of DIFFERENT people. It amazes me that someone can say they talked to a lot of folks, and in reality they talked a lot to a few folks who have little interest — all because they don’t have to go out and talk to NEW people.
INFERNO Secret:
In recruiting, NEW blood keeps the heart of your business pumping.
Talk to ENOUGH people and talk to people ENOUGH but don’t turn them off. Go on to a new person, and see what happens with that person verses trying to force someone into the business who later will only leave with a bad taste.
3) The Distributor is not talking to the right people.
Wasting massive amounts of time.
That is what most distributors do when recruiting, and continue to do. They talk to the wrong people, and then bring in the wrong people and then have a downline of mostly wrong people.
Who are the right people?
People who light up and catch fire when you show them this business, and then light other’s up when they talk. Not someone who complains after only 2 days because the application is the wrong color, or the wrong size. Or the upline is not doing enough to welcome them aboard. 2 phone calls is not enough– you know the type.
There is what we call the “Recruiting IQ” and that helps tell you if they are the right one. IQ stands for “Ignite Quickly”. And if they catch fire quickly they have a great chance of being the “right one” to pursue in network marketing.
And here is a Secret:
To attract the Right One, you must BECOME the right one. You must become who you want to attract into this business through personal development and empowerment.
4) The Distributor is not talking right to people.
This is a business of communication and of verbiage and emotion as well.
INFERNO Secret:
A lot of distributors are simply saying the wrong things to the wrong people with a wrong message. You must talk to people with a YOU focus. it is called the T.I.N.Y Focus.
Their Interests Not Yours.
And you focus whether online or offline, on what interests them and do it Professionally.
Nothing turns someone off worse than a self focused and self absorbed distributor who is only focused on recruiting a person for THEIR reasons. Not the reasons of the prospect. And the words they are using reveal a lot…
“Me –me –I — I –me –me –I — I — me– me –I — I — me — you”.
INFERNO Secret:
You should say the word “You” at least 4 times more than the word “I” or “me”.
Exercise:
Here is an exercise. Try recruiting someone without using the word “I” or “me”. Use we and us and see how the prospect’s interests increases as you use YOU 4 times more than Us or We.
5) Talking too much to people you are talking to.
Some folks have diarrhea of the mouth. And they talk. And talk. And they talk. And then talk. And talk. And talk. And by the time they finish –the mlm prospect is finished.
Don’t “Dump” on people! Create a RECRUITING ENVIRONMENT that allows the prospect to do most of the talking. Ask a lot of questions.
Listen a lot of minutes. Ask a lot of questions.
INFERNO secret:
Most people LOVE to have an audience, but they hate to BE an audience. You BE an audience of one, for massive listening to your prospect, and don’t create a “Sat Chat.”
What is that?
A Saturation chat–where they feel saturated with your words and info, and feel they have enough information to tell you…No.
If you are going to be a HOT recruiter, you must CONNECT with your folks. And the best way to do that is to become an audience of one. And ask a lot of “Magnetic Questions.” If you do, you will find massive Success in Network Marketing and MLM

Less is More. Especially in Network Marketing and MLM.
What does that mean?
Less talking is more powerful in network marketing, as you increase your arsenal to succeed and win and expand your bullets to hit the Victory bullseye through the Incredible Power of–
Listening.
Do you realize Listening is a Power that can be exercised and tapped into and with it, you can change lives — including your own with in mlm business?
My mentor taught me that.
I can hear him now–”Doug, Listening is the Million Dollar Skill. Master it, and you have mastered the Power Core of Communication, Connection,and Caring in Network Marketing found in the Heart of Success”.
If you study great leaders, most were great listeners, and learned from it.
If you study the superstars of mlm, you will find the same, as most are great Listeners.
Who do you know that is a great leader in Business or your Community?If you study them, study their Listening habits. Study how they listen, how often, why they listen, and how they respond.
It could be a million dollar education.
When you listen next time with someone as you are talking or presenting to them, give 100% attention,and don’t let anything distract you.
Remember — this is their time with you. Respect it.
Lock onto not just the Moment, but the Message within the Moment. REALLY Listen and you will be suprised what you hear that you’ve missed before.

1) An Active Listening. Not just with your ears, but also with your eyes and heart.
2) A Powerful Body Language. Look in your folks eyes, and lean their way, to show connection.
3) A Caring Focus. Listening starts with the heart.
4) A Content focus. Listen for the content,not just the intent.
5) An Empowering Attitude. Encourage and edify all that has been said, show gratitude for them thinking enough of you to share.
When you listen, you are:
Leveraging (& ) Increasing Success That Empowers Now.
Your Listening will Leverage the Power found within it to Increase Success in Empowering the Now.
Absolutely nothing can Empower a situation, a moment, or a person, for Success in Network Marketing,like Focused, Magnetic listening.
People are not only Attracted to it but compelled to be a part of it and are drawn towards it.
The Power of Listening truly is the “Million Dollar Skill” in MLM.
Most People treat it like a 5 dollar attitude.
My Mentor also said:
“The last word in listen is ten. Listening is 10 times more Powerful, and Success Attracting in the long run, than talking.”
Are you Listening? That is THE secret to Communication Success in MLM and Network Marketing.

Easy.
Just as it take only 54 muscles to smile, it takes 81 muscles to frown. Seems that it is more work to create a negative impression then a positive impression–almost twice as much.
Seems that people are more willing to work hard, than smart; more willing to work negative than positive.
Why do we focus on the hard parts of living verses the easier parts?
I used to be that way.
I looked at things as I always had and there was no use in really trying to Succeed as life was somehow “fixed” and I was on the losing end.
Boy was I wrong.
The Words that Changed my MLM Career.
Sometimes in life, you meet someone that totally changes everything about your perspective and view of life. I had such an encounter with someone that was worth well over 20 million dollars. I was blessed to spend some time with him, and he told me something that blew me away and multiplied my network marketing business.
It touched me to the very core of my soul, as I had such a “light go on.”
This multi millionaire shared something with me that changed my life:
“Success is easier than failing. It may take a little longer, but takes a whole lot less out of you. Failure takes you to an early grave, as it takes all the fun out of life.
“Failure stresses you and your body out, creates very damaging internal pressure, creates high blood pressure, invites disease in, damages your emotions, and makes life 10 times as hard as it should be! Focus on Success and not only live longer, but live larger!”
He was SO right.
The moment I DECIDED that MLM success was easier–
It became easier.
The moment I decided that Network Marketing was fun because I was helping people and transforming lives, it became fun.
The moment that I decided that Success was my destiny,and not failure, it became my destiny.
Let me see –MLM became easier, more fun, more large, and Massive Success became my ultimate destiny–sounds like a HUGE life plan to me!
Focus on successful efforts and living, and refuse to listen to those folks who want to die early! Reject the negatives in life, as you do not want those Success Cancer cells getting into your life and dreams.

I think you would agree.
Most people will take some form of action in Network Marketing.
Most always do, even if they are weak actions that produce little. They will "give it a shot" in MLM and see what happens.
They will take an action for prospecting, contacting, presenting, following up and getting the decision. These of course are the actions that drive new business. And because of the lack of results, many will end up being frustrated, discouraged, and eventually walking away mad at the industry and start a smear campaign to justify their failure.
They will blame MLM for their failure, and go about making Network Marketing the demon of their life. All you have to do is do a search on any search engine and you will see what I mean. There are many of the "survivor" sites that are excuse laden, and promote all the usual "failure" research that justify why Networtk Marketing is a scam.
And I will say this in their defense…some people out there in network marekting should not be in the business, as they do not do this business correctly. But you will find that those types of people in all businesses and industries, especially the entrepreneur oriented businesses like real estate, stocks and bonds, insurance, franchises, and even direct sales.
Even Corporate America is not immune to bad business tactics.
Remember ENRON?
Many folks who do leave network marketing wonder what they did wrong. What they did incorrectly. What they did that did not work. What they did that failed.
The answer is not really in what you did, but more in what you did not do. And it has really little to do with your ACTIONS that YOU TAKE in MLM and Network Marketing.
Let me explain.
There are 2 types of actions in MLM.
1) The actions YOU TAKE.
2) The actions THAT TAKE YOU.
What do I mean? Actions YOU TAKE are the ones that catalyze the response and results, and create the paycheck. They are what you do to build this business as listed above.
Actions that TAKE YOU are actions on the inside of your heart and mind with the emotions and the psychology contained within them. Actions THAT TAKE YOU are:
Believing.
Focusing.
Discipline.
Determination.
Refusing to fail.
Seeing the Vision.
Expecting Success.
Anticipating Wealth.
Understanding Reality.
Reaching for what you want.
Knowing you will Succeed.
These actions "take you" to a new level of Power in you, and whole new level of IMPACT in the marketplace. They take you to a new perception of what you can do, and what you can accomplish. They take you to a whole new realm of expectation of results, and Success.
And most importantly, they take the prospect to a whole new perception of what is possible working with you, as they "feel" that you are going somewhere and taking people with you. They are drawn towards you to know more about what you are doing, and where you are going.
All these "take you" actions are catalyzed by one thing:
DECISION.
Once a decision is made in the heart to succeed in network marketing, these "take you" psychological actions kick in, and then, the actions YOU TAKE in the marketplace are:
TWICE AS POWERFUL.
TWICE AS SUCCESSFUL.
TWICE AS EASY.
Why?
These actions now have TWICE THE IMPACT.
How do you know when you have made a decision?
Simple.
No other option is possible. Period. No exceptions.
So, if you are taking action in network marketing, and want to massively Succeed, then make a Decision to create massive Success and that will alter your life and destiny, and everything you do in network marketing.
Then the "ACTIONS THAT TAKE YOU" will start to be empowered and catalyzed, and the next thing you know, you will be starting a journey of Massive Achievement in MLM and Network Marketing.

It all starts with a conversation.
No exceptions.
Whether it's talking to a friend or a stranger, it all starts with a conversation.
And Conversation is the REAL secret to recruiting in Network marketing.
If you think about it–
The secret to this business IS Conversation, and it is something we all have done for a long time, and many have even mastered. If you are at least 18 years old, you have held over 100,000 conversations. That is a psychological fact. You have MASTERED the art of conversation.
Then let me ask an obvious question here:
Why do people not use more conversation as a recruiting tool?
Good question.
According to psychologists, we hold as adults around 100-150 conversations a day minimum, and these can be very strong recruiting tools if properly utilized.
Have you ever talked to someone and after they have walked away, you thought — "Shoot! I wished I would have mentioned my company or product?"
I did that plenty of times unfortunately.
Well — nowadays, you really need to be more professional with your approach in conversations, and also in general. People today get hit up a lot by telemarketers and less than professional mlm'ers, and you need to have a much more professional and focused approach that gets their interest when their defenses are down.
That is why conversation is such a great tool. Most people during a conversation is at ease and their defenses are at bay, not up.
INFERNO Secret:
The power in your words and connection in your relationship can prove to be magnetic to many folks.
So–
If there was a way to ask something that would come across like you are not really trying to carry on a recruiting conversation but a caring conversation.
Would you want to know about it?
Hope so!
There is a question that I have used, and taught for years that seems to really strike a chord with people and gets them to really think.
And the question is so soft that it usually gets a positive response.
When i used it, it rarely got anything but a continued conversation and interest.
What's the question sript?
1)"John — let me ask you a personal question that I have asked some other folks. I'm just curious–what is the biggest concern you have as far as where your future is headed?"
(Security, time, education for kids,retirement, etc)
2)"That really is important to you isn't it?"
3) "Let me ask another question. If I could help you address that concern with a company and program that I have recently run across, would you take a serious look at it and see if it would be something that might be right for you?"
(usual answer is "sure.")
Then you simply move them into a conversation about your company, product and what else that is deemed appropriate…
Easy?
Yep!
Does it work?
YEP!
Has it proven effective?
Absolutely!
Will you try it?
Good question! I encourage you to try this "Conversation Recruiting" strategy and see if it works as good as it has for others.
And don't be surprised if you end up with a new person you have sponsored!
